Absolutely one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. Exquisite taste produced from quality ingredients and artfully mastered plates, with top notch service and staff.
Best sushi and the staff is amazing!
very good food, a little pricey but overall amazing experience!
Its a fairly good place for sushi... and try the edamame varieties
By far, one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Austin! We’ve been to all the high end sushi restaurants in Austin, but Soto is now my first choice!
Loved it! The food is great and the service also
To start off, our waitress was super friendly!
Upon arrival, we were told that our table was not quite ready, but they were able to get us in anyways. We had ordered the Omakase. Let’s just say, it was worth every penny. To the staff and the food, everything was amazing. It was definitely a restaurant worth going to. Overall, great experience. Will definitely be going back there again.
Best sushi in Austin!
Always fresh and delicious. Great cocktails and service. Andy is the best.
Always such a great decision. Always on the menu:
Toro truffle toll
Himachi apple roll
King trumpet mushroom
Always an unbelievable experience at Soto! By far the best!
Service was outstanding and the food was amazing, we LOVED the omakase.
Everything was perfect!
If you have the budget, go with the omakase. Chef Andy will take very good care of you.
I would describe this restaurant as pretty average across the board. For the price point it just didn’t really hit for me. If I’m going to pay high dollar for sushi —(which I definitely don’t mind doing for good quality) I would hope it to be Uchi level // I would even go so far as to say Fukumoto on the Eastside is cheaper and better quality food with overall better presentation. Service was also basic —- this was my first time being out to dinner since quarantine started so my bar was already pretty low! Uni pasta was good but not as good as Fukumoto / egg wasn’t quite done right on top. Slices of fish for Nigiri just didn’t hit - the temperature was off and honestly wasn’t “that interesting” in taste. I appreciate staff for accommodating everyone during the pandemic and honestly I’m grateful to be able to eat out at all. My review is nothing personal, I truly just eat a lot of sushi so I have a pretty pinpoint opinion on the quality and this — just in my opinion, is not worth the price when the town is so full of better options. Overall not bad
Great experience overall! The sushi is the bomb.
Went two nights in a row. Great sushi in particular the nigiri was dressed by the chef and perfect flavor combinations. I highly recommend letting the server guide your dinner... it was more fun.
I love it here. I will definitely plan on coming back.
Amazing! Would highly recommend!
Super professional, great food and plenty of space.:)
The food was excellent. A good wine selection. Service was very good and the chef came out to introduce himself and talk about what he was preparing. Location was very easy to get to plenty of garage parking and valet service. Only draw back was the price. There were two of us and each had one glass of wine and I asked the server to chose the meal selection for us. We spent $522.00 with tip for two which was very expensive.
Went for hh and there was hardly anybody inside. Hh menu was so yummy esp the king mushroom nigiri. Service was what made the experience so outstanding. Very attentive, friendly, and gave great recommendations .
First time to Soto and it was a great experience! The food was AMAZING! We tried a little of everything from soup, salad, edamame, sushi to wagyu steak! Our waiter was attentive and recommended some great things! We were even treated with dessert which topped my all time list!
As always... a perfect experience! Kate was our server and made several excellent recommendations including a new favorite sake.
Chef Andy always takes such good care of us!
Chef Andy and the team are the best in town!
The food was amazing!! The only thing was I wish the lobster tempura was more than just 2 bites because it was amazing!!!
Fantastic tasting menu, each dish especially fusion with Foie gras , wagyu was incredible yummy, unique, differentiated especially compared to Uchi. I cannot RECOMMEND this spot more than UCHI, you are treated like a king as a customer, many awesome unique menu options, a unique experience and Sake options which in my visit were on the house.
One of three better sushi experiences I’ve had in Austin in a while. The chili hamachi was outstanding. A little expensive, but worth it. Expect $70-90/person including tip.
Favorite place to eat. ❤️
We always love Soto South. Chef Andy is the best.
The food was great and fresh. Will definitely go back to try their Omakase.
It was a wonderful experience. First time there. The owner, head chef and service was overall excellent. Would come again. I drove from San Antonio just to try this place!
Fantastic food, great service. Considerations were made for social distancing, even though we went at a very busy time! Try the Brussels sprouts app, Soto2.0 and the Wagyu Surf-n-Turf!
My husband and I have loved Soto for years! We finally experienced Omakase, and it was amazing! Thoughtful, exciting, and delicious. Fantastic service as well!
Great service and innovative food. However, I thought that price was extremely high, i,e, four small dumplings for $16 or a small piece of salmon hanging from a stick for around $18. Maybe they have to make up for lost business due to COVID.
Sat at the sushi counter with my friends and our waiter invited us to order directly from the sushi chef in front of us, Moto. He was so kind and was able to recommend things based off of our preferences and really made it an interactive and personalized dining experience. We will definitely be coming back!
Todo muy rico. Excelente comida japonesa
