Fantastic food with great taste, service was fantastic also
Our tables food came out incorrectly twice. The pizza wasnt fully cooked the first time, the second it was missing a topping. Another pizza ordered was missing the basil from the margarita pizza. Our meat and cheese board was missing one of the cheeses, which our server corrected after being asked. The staff was very friendly and apologetic, but after 2 hours of being sat my fiance still didn't get to eat his birthday dinner. Whole check if about 100-150 was comped bc if the craziness, the chef just couldn't get it right for some reason until the third time it was made. Our server was amazing, although we will not be going back.
We reserved in advance since we would be there on a Saturday evening. We were seated quickly and promptly and the service was great! Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. Food was terrific, especially the calamari!
Wonderful service, terrific food. hard to choose what to eat and drink off the menu-everything sounded good and it was! Well done!!!
The food was pricey. I expected it to be really good because most food at the resort is very good . I thought the food wasn’t very good . No one I was with ate their food but we didn’t want to complain so we just paid and left .
Not as good as the original. Plus you have to walk quite far to get in. Then you have to walk through Kalahari lobby which is a madhouse.
Service was good and that’s about where the good stops. Two of the three of us sent our meals back and the third should have. The seafood al diablo was horrible. I would not go back, save your money.
If you liked the original Sortino’s, you probably won’t like the one at the Kalahari Resort. Most of the great veal dishes are gone and many of the appetizers are gone too. The great atmosphere is gone and so are the great servers. Salads are now purchased instead of being part of the meal and the bread has been replaced with something no where near as good as the original had. Parking is a nightmare with a long walk waiting for you.
The food and service were just delightful!! Totally recommend!!!!
Best Italian I’ve ate in a long time! Enjoy the food and atmosphere!
THE SERVER WAS AWESOME, THE FOOR WAS JUST OK, SAD TO SAY CHICKEN MARSALA FROM OLIVE GARDEN IS BETTER. THE AMBIANCE WAS NICE, PORTION SIZE WAS GOOD BY WAY OVER PRICED
Didn’t realize they moved to resort, until we were heading out to dinner. Everything was more expensive than anticipated and not worth the price. Disappointed that they moved , location was not ideal for Valentine’s Day Will not be returning.
I wasn’t impressed at all the portions were small. Got the tiramisu and it was not homemade it was frozen had to eat it like ice cream and it had no flavor. The by the glass wine selection sucked. Got bruschetta and it came with two pieces! It will be a long while before we go back!
Over priced. Just ok food. Good service. Nice atmosphere
The waitress was super patient with us and very helpful as well as polite. We had a large party but she handled it so very well. Also food was great!
Our waitress was the BEST! We just found out we’re expecting our first baby and she went above and beyond and got us a celebratory dessert, and wrote us a sweet note on a receipt. I bawled tears of joy! Definitely will come back to eat there!!!
The food was AMAZING, atmosphere was great. ALL Staff was wonderful,
We were really really disappointed. We used to go to the original Sortino’s. We couldn’t be more disappointed to find they didn’t even have their famous dipping oil. The dipping oil now is just some kind of unidentifiable cheese. The portions were half the size, the prices were higher and you didn’t get a salad with dinner. What a shame, we definitely won’t be back.
Great atmosphere, beautiful music,
Delicious food and just friendly staff defiantly will dine again
Portion sizes are very small for the amount you pay. The sauce lacks flavor, and very chunky. Our garlic cheese bread was spicy, which was not noted or appropriated. We didn’t get the free bread others were getting. Service was kind but not all were informed on options. For a family resort I feel this restaurant was not children food friendly. Lacked gluten free family friendly options so my son was unable to attend with us.
My mother and I had a very nice evening at the new Sortino's at Kalahari in Sandusky. However, as loyal patrons to the original location, we were disappointed in the reduced menu offerings. Most notably, the 'Veal Parmesan.' A salad offering with dinner would have been nice, as well. Lastly, the prices seemed higher, but I guess that's what you'll pay for when you're relocating to 'resort pricing.' The ambiance was great, very spacious and clean - but as locals, I'm not sure that we will be returning anytime soon - simply because it's a bit out of the way. Food and service were very good though, I would still recommend to a friend.
Please make sauce like George did , The new sauce just is not the same taste
Amazing food and awesome waitress!!! Always wanted to go and finally went for my birthday. Great food and drinks. Our waitress was so nice and great service on point when taking care of us. Definitely will be back
Our server, Pam, was amazing!
The food was delicious, wait times short and everyone was so friendly.
Nice place as far as atmosphere goes but poor as far as food and prices go. $20 + dollars for a meal with no salad or anything including is nuts!
We won’t be back.
The service was excellent. Does not have the ambience of the original Sortino's. The fettacini Alfredo was not as good as the original Sortino's. Really enjoyed visiting with George. I was looking forward to a chocolate martini. Not on the menu. George was kind enough to make one for me.
Great service, drinks were good. Pizza is pretty good but probably the best chicken marsala I've ever tried!
The food was fantastic and the service was top notch! There were 3 small picky eaters who ate their entire kids meal! Highly recommend!!!!
Excellent atmosphere, with a warm feeling but wonderfully airy & open. Good food, service, and wine. Only strike is the waitress brought our food while we were still eating our salads. :( Otherwise, yes! A terrific spot to dine, and we'll go back. Was so awesome to chat with Founder George Sortino! 🤩🇮🇹🍷
Same, great menu items! Miss the old location... Great to see George S. Working the crowd!
Really awesome place ❤️Food was amazing.. loved the cheese bread
The food was good...the service was good....it was pricier than the old Sortino's , We might not go back because it is now in Kalahari , the resort was too crowded and noisy.
The portion and pricing is horrible. Not worth 2 people and $60 later.
Authentic, homemade, delicious Italian cuisine. Beautiful dining area and friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend!
Very disappointed. I miss the old sortinos. Food is much more expensive and you do not get nearly as much as before. Do not recommend.
Table set up was not ideal for our party of 8.
Food being passed was extremely hot and had to be handed over people and to diners to pass to person who ordered it..
Drink refills were minimal.
Ordered house wine but was not available.
Great food, Super friendly staff! Will definitely eat here again
Great NYE special !
Service was not great. Server took a long time to greet us and made us feel very rushed and the restaurant was not super busy. The "owner" character who was dressed in a red velour suit was walking around speaking to tables without his mask on which made us incredibly uncomfortable when he came to our table. I ordered the manicotti which was more gobbed melted cheese than anything and my husband's short rib was way overcooked and salty. Our apps were good and our children seemed to enjoy their meals for what that's worth.
New Year’s Eve dinner with the family.
