Back in 1926, Martin and Irene Sorensen began welcoming visitors to their resort in Hope Valley. The heart of the property has always been the cafe where guests enjoyed good food, good drinks, and good times. Whether they were gathered ‘round the pot-bellied stove or a glass of apple jack whiskey, the conversations that they had - and friendships that they formed - became legendary. Due to the rich history and nostalgic memories, it’s no wonder the folks at Desolation Hotel have fallen in love with this magical place. Generations of adventures have come and gone, but we’re still welcoming guests with the same warm hospitality that the Sorensen’s family always did.
