Daily special was Seabass; it had an extremely "fishy" taste. Value of bottle of wine was not good.
Really average experience where service was slow and the food value did not match the cost. Sadly not coming back.
Delicious fresh pasta dishes!
Great lounge music and nice atmosphere. Would recommend for a group. Service could use some help.
Quiet booth for romantic dinner with wife.
Service was excellent. Offered sample to taste wine. Food was very good. Baked artichoke, risotto and filet mignon. Caesar salad was just ok but dressing was good (slight flavor of blended anchovies in dressing)!
Great location and menu. Service was exceptional and chairs were plush. We are going back!
ambiance was fantastic, our waitress was very attentive, Dj was awsome!
We had made reservations for two a week before but my husband invited a relative to join us about noon the day of...sooo I called at 4:00 knowing I might have to cancel if they didn’t have a place for us. Kyle came through for us. We each had a seafood dish that was well prepared and beautifully presented. The service was good but has room to improve at times, maybe he thought we were too engrossed in conversation to interrupt-we weren’t neglected for sure. A suggestion though, let your customers know you serve a spiced tea, the clove caught the guys off guard. We will be back.
Absolutely amazing experience! The food was delicious, service was great. My boyfriend and I dined here from out of town-and we are so happy we did!
Perfect. Service and food.
Ridiculously overpriced! I realize people have special requests and I did as for a salad. In my salad there was lettuce, small amount of avocado & green apple(which I couldn’t eat). I had requested a green salad with green vegetables only and for $15 it wasn’t what I asked for. There was a loss in translation obviously. Water was poured freely which was nice.
Little loud for our tastes, a whole bachelor party was sat next to us while we were trying to have a romantic dinner. Food was good though, service was pretty slow.
Our waiter was awesome. He was attentive, knowledgeable & friendly. We want a leisure dinner and that’s exactly what we got😊. We basically went with everything he recommended. Started with the Bruschetta, then the Caesar salad, we shared 2 pasta dishes then topped it off with the chocolate cake & a scoop of vanilla gelato. Best dessert ever!
Really cool vibes and ambiance.
I visited Sophia's to celebrate an anniversary and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. From the friendly hosts to the knowledgeable waiter, the service we experienced made for a relaxing and comfortable experience. The wine list provided some excellent options and their handcrafted cocktails tasted delicious. We decided on some pasta - you really can't go wrong with any of their pastas - and the chop: impossible to decide which was better.
We went on a Tuesday, so the atmosphere was likely more quiet than normal. Still, I'd recommend this place for special occasions as there were many cozy seating options for couples or small groups.
Seated immediately. Attentive service. Food was prompt and excellent. Will be back.
Went for New Years. Didn’t know it was a preset menu until we got there. Would have been fine if it wasn’t $130 per plate. Everything was really good but I wouldn’t say it was worth the price.
Every dish was special and delicious. We had the chopped salad, sea bass, filet mignon, and the chocolate cake as recommended by our server (she said there is nothing compared to it in Austin and she was RIGHT!). We would highly recommend this dining venue!
Celebrated my birthday here. Service was excellent and the food was amazing!!!! The restaurant is beautiful absolutely, loved the ambiance and I will definitely be returning again!
Refined atmosphere, perfectly crafted Italian dishes and unobtrusive yet attentive and friendly staff. Had a wonderful dinner with my husband and look forward to returning.
Second time there, and just as pleased as the first time around. The double chop can make my mouth water just thinking about it. All around, definitely one of Austin’s better establishments. Way to go Sophia’s, you’ve done yourself proud!!!
Can’t wait to get back, and I’ll make sure it’ll be sooner than later.
Pretty disappointing, terrible smell by the bathroom area!!
Really a great restaurant! We were happy with everything from the ambiance to the food to the cocktails and wine to the service.
We ordered several half-orders of pasta so we could try more items, then split the chicken under a brick - all were delicious! Also had the meatballs w/burrata as an appetizer - equally delicious!
They have a great menu of hand-crafted cocktails, including barrel-aged cocktails. I had the one-month barrel-aged negroni and the five-month barrel-aged negroni - both are fantastic!
All in all, this is a great and authentic Italian restaurant with a very cool vibe! We will be back...
Service was great, excellent recommendations on food, very friendly, only one issue a little loud
but great experience, Rib-eye was prepared perfectly and pasta was perfect!
Food good. Service slow.
I was extremely impressed with Sophia's. I felt like I was in New York. The interior is nice and the food was excellent.
In Austin there is a different gimmick every week in the restaurant competition. Sophia's is a nice breath of fresh air. I also liked the dj vibe.
Wonderful ambience. Loved the DJ, perfect volume.
Great service, the food was delicious, and I think the price point was spot on! The chocolate cake is absolutely decadent!
First, let me start by saying the service and staff at Sophia’s is always a great experience. They work very hard to ensure you’re taken care of.
While we have enjoyed Sophia’s for many an occasion and have introduced in and out of town friends to the restaurant, this meal experience left us really disappointed, especially considering it was my husband’s birthday.
We’ve cut back on eating out fancy and I cancelled another “new” restaurant reservation as Sophia’s has always been tried and true.
We found our salad, the Porterhouse steak (very expensive and recommended as they were not serving our favorite ribeye) and the butter cake dessert to be less than stellar.
The salad was salty and odd, the porterhouse was mostly fat and the butter cake came out cooler than room temp and was either over baked or from a previous day.
For the price, we may give another Italian place a try for our next special occasion.
Awesome. Random date night choice. Food was amazing. Ambiance was on point.
Brick Chicken is the only thing I would return for. Brined for 48 hours & was wonderful. However the fingerling potatoes that came with it were like rocks & showed zero effort. It is overpriced for the food they are putting on the table.
Great food. Inexperienced weight staff. Relatively empty restaurant. Loved the menu and choices.
Some coworker's and I had an amazing Christmas Eve dinner here. The food was on point and the service was pristine. The orecchiette and butter cake for dessert were SO delicious and unforgettable.
The hostess was so sweet, Brandon was an awesome server, and Kyle's wine pairings went perfectly with our meal. I can't wait to go back for another dinner soon!
Dined here on Christmas Eve. Was impressed that the restaurant did not have a "turn and burn" pre fixe menu. Food was excellent and service was over the top. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back!
My daughter and I loved the look of this restaurant, especially the blue velvet chairs. The staff were all very friendly. The bruschetta and asparagus were excellent. The filet was very good for the price. Our server kept the wine flowing and overall we had a lovely Christmas eve dinner / birthday celebration at Sophia's.
This was my second time to visit Sophia's. I love the ambiance and color scheme of the restaurant. It feels like a quiet get-away especially since it is just a block or two from the busier, noisy bars along west 6th. The service is impeccable and they have a small, but outstanding wine list.
Food and beverages (cocktails and wine) were great. The staff’s note cards were out of date resulting in incorrect descriptions of items or lack of correction of menu items being ordered. Gluten free pasta available
Delicious petite filet, pastas and meatball appetizer. Pricy but worth it
