Great food, accommodating service, and very nice atmosphere, except for the planes flying over. Still worth a visit, great way to spend a few hours on a nice day.
Wonderful visit with best friend And niece And such a pleasing atmosphere and the service was exceptional!
First real "Friday Night Out" in a year - and totally worth it!! Excellent food, drinks, environment and service!!! Thank you!
As always, felt safe and precautions taken. Food was delicious and portions were generous. Service was fantastic, and even with the noise from the planes - the patio was lovely. One of our all time favorite spots!
The outdoor area was pleasant and the server very nice and tried to be helpful. We first ordered drinks and later salads, but the drinks didn’t show up until we were halfway through our salads. (It was not a busy night.) One of the drinks was a custom request with specific items that the server confirmed they had. However, when it finally arrived, it used different ingredients and did not taste right. The lamb lasagna was marginal. It came looking quite uninteresting- just a square chunk in the middle of the plate with five dots of tomato sauce. The meat was granular and tough. The other main was good, but small, with a smear of something yellow with the meat and asparagus. Overall, it was a disappointing meal that we both agreed we didn’t care to repeat.
Creme Brulee was really a yucky color....but food was great!!!
EXCELLENT DINNER AS ALWAYS. SO GREAT TO BE ABLE TO GO OUT AGAIN.
Lovely place to go for upscale Italian. I felt a little bit rushed to order, and then a little bit delayed getting the bill.
Quite varied menu and eclectic wine list. Our server, Paola, was excellent. Excellent Cocktail suggestions and craftmanship. Entrees were created to perfection.
Menu is good for special occasions and also everyday dining.
Bread and dipping oil were great. Butternut soup was good too. I had lobster fettuccine which was the Easter special. It was not very flavorful for something I imagined to be a special treat. Would not order again. Should have got something else.
Nice seating on patio. Great service. Food was delicious. Great pizza and lasagna!
Our first visit to this restaurant, but it won't be our last. We loved the atmosphere and ability to dine indoors, at last! And the food and service were spectacular. Wish we had chosen a different wine, though, as it wasn't what we were expecting.
The food wasn’t as good as we’ve had in the past and the service was just ok.
Solare never disappoints. Feels like a second home. Always inviting, great atmosphere, exceptional service and the food is amazing.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Never a disappointment.
Simply amazing as always.
We have dined at Solare many times, but their Weekend Dinner Special is worth writing about. Had it at lunch this weekend: excellent beet salad and unusually, veal cheeks as secondo. Go there!
Excellent service and no questions when we asked for a split plate.
Fantasic deserts!
Food very good - but too expensive for the portion.
Very noisy dining outside due to plane noise.
As always, Randy and his amazing team did a wonderful job with fantastic meals for our group of four. Solare never disappoints. The food was excellent and so was everything else. We can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!
Server was great, she was able to find gelato and made us affogato which made my night
The food was just ok, the outdoor seating was nice but I wouldn’t recommend.
Food was delicious as always. Wine service was great.
We did Valentines Day and they still did amazing even by the end . Great food and a lot of good food for the money . Being a prefix pretty large portions . We had salmon and lasagna was amazing ! The panda cotta was over the top delish. The only down side chili outside and not heaters for all. Some tables had some others had to share but wasn’t really very close . So cold . Otherwise great !
Service was very slow. waited 1 hr 45 min for the main course.
Valentines lunch. Great food. Service was ok, but understaffed. Understandable given the day and COVID.
Came here for Valentine’s Day.. under new county guidelines, restaurants can only operate outdoors. Although it was a bit cold, they did their best to accommodate their patrons! That was much appreciated. And the food was delicious. Planning on returning again soon!!
Food was fantastic - had the bruschetta, butternut squash soup, pizza and risotto - all was delicious and flavorful with perfect balance of seasonings. It’s in the flight path so there were loud planes periodically (we were outside) but otherwise it was a great Valentine’s dinner!
Overall, our experience was fair, not exceptional. Our table was secluded and the lights on the patio were lovely. Our heater never worked properly, even after a few requests to turn it on. Our waiter provided adequate, yet indifferent service. He made more of an effort to tell us what he was out of, rather than to describe the food with passion or enthusiasm. As for the food, we give it an above average rating. The minestrone soup was intensely flavorful; the Caesar was delicious. I truly enjoyed the pollo Marsala, for the sauce was perfectly prepared. My husband did not care for the scallop risotto, as it was dry and under seasoned. The other guests had tasteless flat iron steak and decent ravioli. We finished our meal with cappuccinos and tiramisu. All in all, it was an average experience, but certainly not what we expected. We had high hopes for an outstanding evening, based on great reviews.
This place is probably one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to in years.
As any other restaurant they ask you if you and your guests would like some water while you look over the menu’s, but what they fail to tell you is that they are actually selling you a bottle of water for the cheap price of $3. Who does that??
As for the meals, I myself went with the $42 steak which you would think that it was a hefty portion for the price but boy was I wrong, the waiter came out with this kids birthday party cupcake sized piece of meat on a bed of spinach (which I don’t really eat spinach) and some beet sauce that was decent in flavor but not great. It took us about 45 minutes to get our food and to my surprise the steak comes out medium well even after the waiter asked me if I’d like it my steak to be medium rare upon ordering.
Let’s just say that I left there hungrier than when I arrived and a little over a hundred dollars lighter which didn’t sit well with me as I had to stop at a fast food place on the way home just so I felt like I ate something.
This place was a huge disappointment to me and my fiancée, specially since it was our Valentine’s Day dinner and we drove all the way from San Marcos just to give this place a shot only to leave there hungry and unsatisfied with the way our meals tasted.
Wife’s steak was reheated , not fresh. Out us at a table around the corner. Reservations are made a week in advance.
Really miss the old SoLare
Great location for meet up with friends. Food was delicious and beautifully prepared. Service was professional and helpful.
We were pleasantly surprised by the food, service, and atmosphere dining here after it's recent reopening. The arugula and fig salad was delightful, and the lamb chops were excellent (even if the spinach was a little salty.) We topped it off perfectly with an amazing lavender panna cotta for dessert. The service was great, and we felt comfortable with the social distancing provided. A wonderful experience.
Our favorite restaurant when in the area. Amazing selection of Italian wines. Great pasta!
They said table was ready but after sitting down awhile- a tablecloth and silverware added - we had 2 different servers and seemed some confusion in taking order - first one did drinks and appetizers and a
Some time passed before a second server took entree... but overall food was excellent
Warm and Welcoming experience, we were from out of town and hadn't been to a restaurant in months, so this was a very pleasant night out.
Had the Tuscan lamb chops, amazing! Best tiramisu ever, yes that's the tiramisu not a plant.
The food is amazing. But, service is horrible. Ordered (2) $100 bottles of wine. Waiter had hard time opening. Never poured for taste. Just dropped and left. Reservation stated it was a birthday. He (Seth) forgot. Blamed hostess, but then came back and admitted he forgot. Offered to take one of desserts off bill. We told him it wasn't necessary. We will go back, but definitely request NOT to have Seth as our waiter.
First time dining at Solare Ristorante and was very impressed. Food was outstanding and service was great considering they were short handed. Wish we could have dined inside but with the "lockdown" we were seated outside near the parking lot. Looking forward to dining inside soon.
We were one of two or three tables and the service was not good. Waited 20 plus minutes for ice tea - was basically dirty water when it arrived. Pizza was fine - o.k. Salad was barely dressed and just o.k. $60 for pizza, a split salad and two ice teas is ridiculous, but if it is really tasty and great service, fine. This was none of the above.
