First time dining at solare. Good service. Very fresh Caesar salads. Entree veal in capers excellent. Mussels in broth excellent. Cocktails mediocre.

Yesterday we had an amazing experience at Solare Ristorante in Point Loma. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and authentically Italian. The staff was incredibly attentive without being overbearing, and every recommendation they gave was spot on. We were especially impressed by the wine selection—our server helped us find the perfect sweet red wine to pair with our meal, and it did not disappoint. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and thoughtfully prepared. Solare is definitely one of those places that makes you want to come back not just for the food, but for the entire experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a refined yet comfortable Italian dining experience in San Diego.

All was good. However we sat at our table for 15 to 20 minutes before our waitress noticed us. We actually flagged down the hostess to call our waitress so we could order drinks!!! We ordered a bottle of white wine and by the time it was brought to our table my husband was done with his meal!

Our server Alice was amazing and had such a great personality. She really contributed to a wonderful experience! The food was also so so good! Everyone loved what they ordered. Would definitely recommend and plan on coming back again in the near future

Greeted at sat quickly. Service was excellent. We were able to customize our dinner choices and the food was excellent. Highly recommend this place for a quiet evening meal.

When I ordered my wine bye the glass there where three prices for my Chardonnay but wasn’t aware of the three pieces for example 15 /29/108 ? I asked for the Chardonnay by the glass but I assumed I got the fifteen dollar glass and I ordered two glasses so I assumed it was going to cost me $30.00 for two glasses but instead I was charged for $58.00 if I new that I would bought a bottle for that price wish the waiter would of explained better and when I approached him he said my bad but instead should of reduce price?? So be aware when you order wine bye the glass and ask questions caused they should have explain better too! Food was great but server was okay!

This is my second time dining at Solare, and I was very disappointed in the service. I had a great experience the first time and decided to bring my six year old this time to celebrate Mother's Day. We ordered bread as an appetizer, but my son's kids meal came out before the bread. I asked for bread again, and then it was brought over. But my son was done eating before the other entrees arrived, which anyone with kids knows is disastrous. There's no way we can enjoy a meal when a six year old is done with theirs and anxious to leave the table. We also had to ask twice for Parmesan cheese after my son's food was arrived. I won't be in a hurry to eat here again anytime soon.
