Located inside the Marriott Hotel, upscale decor. Limited menu options for Valentine’s Day, but overall delicious. We will go back again to try the regular menu options. Definitely recommend!
Very good food but too much noise pollution. Would recommend but on a quiet night, not good if you want a intimate setting. Food was very well prepared.
The manager would not accommodate breakfast for us. We arrived 10 minutes before breakfast closed and she told us we’d have to eat from the breakfast buffet. She said the kitchen was closing for breakfast. Then the buffet food was very cold and didn’t taste good at all. The ambiance was nice as we sat by the window. Our waiter was great. But I was surprised that the manager was inflexible and not accommodating at all. Shameful for a hotel restaurant manager!

very nice food, Limited menu, but when I say VERY VERY SLOW it was 1:45 after ordering before the food came to the table.

Food and service was outstanding. Family style Thanksgiving buffet brought to the table. We also got to take home our leftovers. Glad we made this choice.

Ashley. Was fabulous. We were early so very few people. Food good wish they would trim the brisket but some others might like big pieces of fat.
I have to say this was one of the worst meals I have ever had. I was very excited about going here based on the website, but everything we ordered was subpar and we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Saturday. The experience was very disappointing.
Great fruit selection for the breakfast buffet but everything else was pretty mediocre- nothing outstanding.
AngelaB, I do apologize for your mediocre experience. If you dine with us again for breakfast, with a buffet purchase we would be happy to make anything on the buffet to order fresh for you. Also, we will be able to make omelettes and pancakes to order for anyone who partakes in our buffet! Hope to see you again!
I ordered the egg white frittata, with a side of fruit. The frittata was wonderful and the fruit cup included fresh berries, not just melon. I was very pleased with my meal.

We were staying at the motel so at there. Had the Rueben, vegetable flatbread, and the crab hush puppies. The Rueben was very good, but the veggie flatbread and hush puppies were over cooked and not very flavorful. Would have only given 2 stars but the Rueben was good.

Reuben sandwich & homemade chips were freshly made & delicious. Decent selection of red wines by the glass. Pleasant waitress was well informed about menu items & very helpful. Great service & good food.
Very nice new restaurant inside the downtown Marriott. Food was great and the service was very friendly & knowledgeable. We had a great time. It has an open concept within the hotel front desk & bar area. As a result, it lacks some ambiance. I would advise not to get hung up on that and go there for what matters the most which is the high-quality dishes and attentive service. "A+" on their craft cocktails as well.
Wil’s service was outstanding but the food we had was nothing special. The drink menu was varied and a plus for the restaurant. Management is encouraged to design a unique sign for the establishment based on the Nebraska 1854 designated theme. The menu prices were high for the amount and quality of food.
Out service was very slow and our server was very uneducated on the restaurant and the menu.
We absolutely loved our dinner and drinks. The bartender was so helpful in making recommendations. We didn't catch her name but appreciated her help.
I’ve been wanting to check out this place. Overall, it was just okay. It looks like it’s a part of the hotel lobby - not much distinction between the two. Okay view of part of the Capitol District. Server was really nice but disappeared for a good 20 minutes after dropping off the check. Food was good... but next time, I’ll just walk around the block to J.Gilberts.
Waiter was (obviously) brand new. Not just new to restaurant but new to serving in general. A restaurant like this shouldn’t have people new to serving working there.
No truffle flavor in truffle soup - very disappointing. Chicken thigh seemed barely cooked and was gray - obviously microwaved instead of cooked fresh.
Had high hopes for this place but likely won’t return. It may be a Tuesday lunch, but if you expect people to pay $100+ for a meal, food & service need to match.
We would have ordered more drinks, more food, and dessert, but were disappointed in experience so ended it earlier than we had to.

We took our 4 kids on a little staycation and decided to eat right in the hotel. They are super accommodating of children and the food is always amazing. Will didn’t let be back.

Food was good, service was great! Not what I was expecting.
Excellent food, attentive service
The spin is that the menu was inspired by the year 1854, when Omaha was founded, as well as a farm to table leaning. I'm not sure I see either of those in the menu, but we had a good meal. The menu is quite limited. I get the sense this restaurant is where they serve breakfast, and are tying to figure out what to do with the space at night. The gnocchi was excellent, but a small portion. If you ordered it without a protein, it would be disappointing. Likewise for the greens.
I didn’t realize that this restaurant is in a brand new Marriott nestled at the far corner of the main floor (open concept room).
For lunch I ordered deviled eggs and a soup/salad combination. The garden salad was lovely with a variety of yellow and red tomatoes, cheese and vinaigrette dressing.
The deviled eggs were delicious and presented so nicely.
The servers aimed to please and were very attentive.
A very nice spot for a quick bite or for larger groups.
Was hoping for the mother’s day buffet breakfast, but it was not set up until after we were done eating. We ordered off the regular menu and it took over 90 minutes for us to have breakfast - and not because we are slow eaters. It was over 20 minutes before our order was taken, another 30 minutes for our bacon, eggs, and French toast to come out, then when we were ready to go, it was 15+ minutes from the tine the check was dropped off until the card was picked up. Overall, this was a very subpar experience!
Society 1854 is in the Marriott hotel complex in Omaha. It is a new modern building with high end modern decor. The breakfast options included a buffet on Sunday but you could also order off the menu. I ordered the polenta crab benedict - it didn't have much flavor, presentation was nice. Generally hotel pricing and food was pretty average.

We were looking for a restaurant within walking distance of the Holland. Waitress was so knowledgeable regarding how food was cooked and alternatives for my keto preferences. Great view of CHI center too.
Friday evening and they did not have one of their major entres going into the weekend. Caesar salad was not chopped which was very strange. Content of Our sandwiches was fine but the bread was burnt. Service was fine but they really need to work on food quality for what they charge. Didn’t enjoy the meal at all and didn’t finish eating everything.
The venue at Society 1854 is lovely, even with a view of I480. The menu for the buffet was inviting, the execution not so much. The prime rib was delicious, as well as the horse radish sauce. The Caesar salad was romain lettuce cut into small bites with some shaved parmesan. The vinaigrette bowl was empty so had to ask for some. The green beans were raw. The eggs tasteless. The "deviled eggs" were awful. Tasteless too. It was nice that we ran into some friends so we had a nice visit. I suggest you step up your game so the food matches the room. We will not be returning.
We had booked this for special Easter brunch. Food did not seem to be special for the day; last year the restaurant offered custom made omelets that we were looking forward to. So this wasn’t actually a brunch, which is what we were expecting. Not a lot of variety offered and mimosas seemed flat or made from a mix! Lunch was fine but not outstanding.
I have young children and the food( was great) wasn’t ideal for them. Thank you for having us.
Very disappointing Easter Brunch. Overpriced considering the limited selection. You have to pay additional dollars for drinks as well. Also no kids menu. So don’t pay $17 for them. Only option they have is Mac & Cheese unless they eat roast beef. One could argue that perhaps one is paying for the quality of food? Not even that. They had a fancy name for a
Rice pilaf dish with sliced chicken breast on top which did not look appetizing at all. Pay attention to the reviews as I should have done. They’re on point as far as this restaurant is concerned.
This was our first visit to Society 1854. We were pleased with some aspects not so much others. For the good part, the service was excellent. Our server helped up pick our food and was attentive throughout. The ambience was poor. It's in the lobby of the hotel. The food was excellent but there wasn't much of it. My $14 salad literally could have been eaten in two bites.
If I was staying at the hotel, I would definitely eat there again. I would not, on the other hand, go out of my way like I did this time to eat there.
We loved our first time here! Took our young kids to dinner before a concert at the CHI Center. Valet parking. Great service. Great atmosphere. We will be back!
