Enjoyed our meal
We were disappointed in the food selection. The salads were limited and my friends did not enjoy theirs. I hsd the skillet breakfast and it was tasty but too heavy on the hashbrowns. Service was great.
Service was very slow. Food was great as usual.
Our server seemed absolutely annoyed with our table (this isn’t the first time I’ve had this server). Everything else was great, but whenever I get this server he makes you feel like you just want to leave the restaurant because you’re annoying him.
Great place. Great food. Great people.
We came to Social Kitchen specifically to sit in outdoor seating with heat. I called ahead to ask specifically if there was good fresh air circulation, and I was told yes, that windows of the tented area are left open for this purpose. That was not the case. The tent was tightly zipped up with heaters blasting (we were dressed in layers, anticipating an outdoor experience.) It was actually warmer and more air tight than the interior of the restaurant. We were the only ones sitting in the "outdoor" area initially. We asked the server if we could get some outdoor airflow. The servers smiled and shrugged and said some people like it zipped up and warm. As this area filled up, we decided to leave. As cold weather approaches and the virus rages, I think that there will be more people like us who are looking for an Aspen-like experience where you layer up, sit outside under maybe a one-sided tent for some wind protection and heaters blasting for warmth. Social's outdoor area is really no different than sitting indoors. The food and drink were good, and the service was good. We would certainly come back under different circumstances.
Food was Excellent! Atmosphere was perfect!! Social Kitchen in a gem in Birmingham!!
Overall happy with this visit. Worth getting out. The 3's are for the disappointment in the cookies that I received as take-out. They were burnt and hard. Not worth trying to eat.
New decor looks great, staff and manager were attentive, everyone enjoyed their meal.
This place was awesome! Our server Presley was the best! Her suggestions on the food were spot on, and drinks as well. She made it experience fur sure!
We sat at a high top table. The service was horrible and it took forever to finish our brunch.
Waiter was awful
We sat on TVs patio, protected by plastic around the perimeter. They had ceiling heaters on which made the tables too hot. Out of the three breakfast skillets we ordered, two came out “wrong” - missing items snd not prepared as requested. While they did try to fix the errors, it was not the way it should have been. So, low grades due to that.
Orders were incorrect, had to ask for creamer and sugar, napkins and silverware. Not a good experience at all. Food was greasy.
We got seated quickly, our reservation on Open Table was recognized and we were made to feel appreciated for having used Open Table. Food was very delicious. We will come back.
Rooftop patio is cozy and feels posh at the same time. I wasn’t sure how service would be up there but it was 5-star as the servers have the ability to make drinks up there quite quickly without running up and down the stairs.
This place was really hustling to help out the community at the height of COVID last spring so I’m happy to layer up this fall and winter to dine al fresco with them until this is over.
We shared the hummus plate and brussel sprouts and my favor cocktail: Fuego!
great food! love the salads and drinks! service on rooftop a little slow but great setting and people! let's go
Our waitress was great!!!
I chose this restaurant based off the great reviews and it was extremely disappointing. Although I made a reservation for 3, we were seated at a table by the bar and were served by the busy bartender. Aside from the sub-par service, the food was next level bad. We ordered 3 appetizers and mac n cheese to share. First cake the crispy brussel sprouts served in a coffee filter, I assume to absorb the grease. Next came the truffle fries that looked like they were the burnt leftovers from the fryer. Then came the Mac n cheese where we couldn’t tell what kind of sour cheese was used. Last but not least came the kale salad, which by far was the worst dish of all. It was as if the kale and golden raisins were soaked overnight in rancid rice vinegar, thus reincarnating the raisins to grapes. It was hardly worthy of one bite. Perhaps we didn’t choose the “right” menu items or perhaps the food is just that bad and other reviewers lack the palate for good food. Regardless, I won’t be giving Social Kitchen a second chance.
This was a shocking dinner!!! Our favorite foods were no longer offered and we were so disappointed!!!!
Wonderful team members all around. Cozy, casual vibe on rooftop deck. Delicious meal.
It was a very nice lunch. Everything was delicious. No fault of the restaurant – but parking was very difficult with the road I front under construction.
We sat on the rooftop and had the absolute BEST service. the two women working the bar up top were phenomenal and went far above and beyond to serve my friend and I. Amazing experience, I will be back!
Returned on Tuesday after a wonderful experience last Tuesday Requested Fallon as our waitress. She made the evening so pleasant on both nights.
We felt very safe. Everything was clean lots of safe distancing.
Good mimosa size for brunch and delicious kale salad
Food and staff was awesome.
The snotty, bratty tweens were obnoxious.
The staff did their best with them.
Had a good date there, the server was great, the menu was limited, it cool...
The turkey burger I had seemed to be the nicest dish on the menu. The Gemelli pasta and burger ordered were nothing special.
Service was friendly and efficient and our waiter knowledgeable.
Overall, it was a nice dinner out, but not a gastronomical experience.
Birthday celebration of two life long friends in their 70s. We needed safe, outdoor dining. We were amazed at the special order salads with endless choices of add-ones. Highly recommend the legumes with many toppings.
Waitress was excellent.
I think restaurants need to make it easier for people to find the type of safe surroundings needed during pandemic. I really had to search a lot to find a place with outdoor eating and lunch schedule. Open Table could help on this and the local Chamber of Commerce.
Loved the me items and selections.
Great place to grab a “create your own salad” Also plenty of hot dishes to choose from.
Excellent service but I was surprised at how closely they seated us to other patrons and that their “outdoor seating” was enclosed in a tented patio (not what I would consider outdoors).
We had two excellent meals, the salmon and the brick chicken both I would recommend to anyone. I had wanted to sit on the patio and made that request in my reservation but unfortunately was told there was no room even though I saw empty tables that got filled immediately after we were seated inside. Our server Rafid was excellent.
Loved the brunch skillets!
Love this place... food is excellent and service is consistent. Good ambience... our go-to date night spot these days. Highly recommend the Steak Frites and the Kale Salad is amazing as well.
My waitress was so sweet. It was my birthday and she sent me a free birthday drink! The truffle fries, spinach dip & turkey burger was amazing. Love the cob. Would recommend!
Great service and the food is always fresh and tasty.
So glad we came back!!! We had not been to Social for quite some time. We had a fabulous experience! The service was impeccable! Friendly, efficient and made us smile! A special shout out to Dwayne at the bar who was fantastic. The food was delicious and the attention to cleanliness and covid regulations was impressive.
Very nice experience love the place!
