Food is amazing and the staff is so attentive. Make sure to order the Mac and Cheese!
Very good BBQ and sides. Ribs are amazing!
We were very disappointed that the venue changed from a fine dining experience to barbecue, not what we wanted while on vacation staying at The Homestead, we can get barbecue any day of the week at home! However, the staff was very friendly and did an excellent job serving us!
We waited over 20 min for waiter to come to table then another 20 to get our drinks. Only 5 tables in our area with 1 waiter-which he should have been able to handle -and 1 food deliverer, For almost 15-20 min waiter was no where to be seen. Food was good but service some of the worse I have encountered in a long time.
Person at reception desk was indifferent and too bored to offer a proper greeting. We were guided to the upstairs patio even though it was raining - I had to ask to sit inside and this seemed to irritate the reception guy. Our waiter was OK though he moved at his own pace. I asked for their house Merlot and was given a Cabernet at $19 glass. Food was, for the most part, tasty though I had to remind the waiter that pulled pork sandwiches came with Cole slaw. Ambiance was the best feature. This restaurant, can make a go of it even with modified menu, but the service staff are going to have to work as a motivated, unified team. Somebody needs to "manage" the place.
We were thoroughly pleased with our meal at Snead's. Their approach to reopening is an "all in this together" kind of feeling: they have a limited menu of casual BBQ options (brisket, pulled pork, turkey). Several choices for sides, and the portions were large. We enjoyed the macaroni if we'd had another night, we would have returned.
Food was good - cheesecake was great! Server determined to do order taking from memory and forgot two things.... always drives me nuts - just write it down! Removed charges when told it never arrived though. Atmosphere was really cool w all the memorabilia.
Excellent service - missed the full menu with C-19 limiting things, but very enjoyable. Great cocktails too.
The barbecue ribs were over cooked. We also ordered the 1/2 fried chicken and received 2 legs, 1 wing and 1 thigh. No breast which was the only piece that I really wanted.
We came here for dinner while staying at the Homestead. They have a BBQ style menu right now due to the pandemic. It was fantastic! We had pork rines as an app and they were amazing. My husband had the brisket and I had a pulled pork sandwich. We will come back here next time for sure !
Snead's has changed into a BBQ and Fried chicken restaurant. It says this on their website, but when the Homestead concierge suggested it for dinner, I had mentioned wanting a nice steakhouse. Perhaps they didn't know. For $90 we got fried chicken, brisket, mac and cheese, baked beans, and two cocktails. It was not done well. It was also 8 pm on a Saturday night and the restaurant was deserted. I understand the impact of COVID on businesses but if you limit your menu it should at least be the best version of the dishes you do serve. Would not recommend.
Such a nice spot. Menu was limited due to covid 19 but still very good and enjoyable.
Neville was our server. Very pleased
Food was served hot
#1 THANKS FOR BEING OPEN. It's not ideal to operate in these times, but y'all feed us :-)
I'm sure it would have been better if they'd had their regular menu- neither my husband or I like the food on the covid menu. I would recommend holding off dining here until they get their regular menu back. Wiukd not recommend at this tume.
Would happily return - we happened to be there on a night when a band was playing at Bacova Brewery - music was bouncing from all directions which was a bit strange. But, eating out on the porch on a beautiful evening was great.
Great service. Look forward to the great bbq sandwich soon. Keep up the great work. Our waitress was wounderfull.
Limited menu information not found on Open Table. Known for steaks, none to be had. Out of items that were on the limited menu. Understaffed therefore slow service.
A poor interpretation of its former self. Will not be returning......sadly.
Snead's Steakhouse did not have steak largely due to the Covid19 situation. However, that fact was not really advertised. It is now really a barbecue restaurant. The food was mediocre but the service was out-standing. I would not recommend it right now.
We always enjoy eating at Sam Snead’s. This time due to all the limitations on food and offering we were surprised at the cost and menu items. We were understanding of the situation but the food was not as up to par as in the past. We will definitely come again once things start to get better with the pandemic
HORRIBLE service. Not enough menu items. Food was okay. Won’t return.
I realize with the virus you can't have everything on the menu but please let people know when they make reservations that you have almost nothing so they can decide if they want to eat at your restaurant very dissatisfied
BBQ was tasty. However, very pricey for what you get. BBQ pork sandwich was $12 and did not include any sides. It was a normal size sandwich and sides prices range in $6+. Cup of ice tea was $4. Ridiculous!
Steak is in the name and they have none!!!!
The ribs are best we ever tasted. Fabulous sides, especially the beans and the Mac and cheese
Pork rinds too spiced but that’s the only complaint
It breaks my heart to say this but Snead's 1912 Steak is a shadow of its former self and not a very flattering one at that. I am willing to concede that some of this may be due to current COVID restrictions and a limited menu but the food we had was so mediocre that I fear an expanded menu would not have been any better. The Snead reboot appears to be focused on being predominantly a BBQ establishment. Ok - then for God sake learn how to cook BBQ. I love many different types of BBA but the meat was dry, overcooked and smothered in cheap sauce. The one saving grace from the evening, was that the cocktail menu appeared not to have lost everything they had in the old version of Snead's. I hope the Snead's team can return this restaurant to its former glory. Sam Snead and all of the restaurants customers would want nothing less.
Warm and cozy especially on a very cold night. Wonderful place to meet and visit with other people. One of our favorite places to come when we come to the Homestead
They went next door to get our cream brulet!!
Wonderful meal, great service that went beyond to accommodate, location and history can't be beat. Highly recommend.
Love the atmosphere, feels like I'm stepping back in time to tavern days. Food was good, not exceptional but good. Service was wonderful!
Our waiter, Oscar, was attentive and delightful. Very nice evening in every sense.
Great service. Delicious steaks!!
Food was top notch per usual. Oysters, yes. House burger with incredible blend!
Oscar at the Bar as awesome. Food was great. Very cool place. Wine selection was amazing. BBQ oysters and Burrata Salad were fantastic.
Good to have another option in Hot Springs. Interior hasn't changed much from with new owners. Still looks pretty much exactly like Snead's Tavern. Food has definitely improved, though the prices are pretty high and there's a LOT of beef on the menu. Service is very good - staff is friendly and helpful.
The service was ok--the waiter friendly although he seemed to have a few too many tables. The food was a mixed bag. My husband's filet was fine but my ribeye was so tough I could barely cut it, and chewing it was difficult. I'm not particularly a picky eater but left a third of it because I was just tired of struggling with it. It's a big deal when a steak house serves inedible steak.
Great food- awesome menu! Staff is super friendly
Matthew was great! The food was amazing!
This is my second time to Snead’s, and it was just as great as my first time here! Brought my fiancé here to try the steak and he loved it, and the atmosphere! We will fire sure be coming back!
Extremely disappointed with the service at Snead’s. The service was EXTREMELY slow and we literally had to flag down someone to at least get us a waiter. The only bright light was our server Holly, who is also the bartender. Needless to say she was very busy. If you enjoy waiters and waitress stomping by you without making any eye contact then you will enjoy the lackluster service. The food was decent but for the price, it sure was not an enjoyable experience. We give Holly 5 stars for her pleasant demeanor.
