Smith and Wollensky used to be our go to place. We've been going since right before getting engaged to the Boston castle before they closed. We then started going to Wellesley. Unfortunately, it seems things have changed. I was very excited to see the reintroduction of the hash browns side to the menu. I was very sad to receive a little patty of hash browns. The portion used to be bigger. Same for the onion rings side. Now, I understand that prices have gone up for raw supplies, but for the price of the meal, I guess I expected more.
Food was amazing and wait staff was wonderful. They were helpful with suggestions
A great NYC steakhouse in the suburbs.
Way over expensive….
Food and service don’t match prices….
Should be tablecloths….no coasters….drinks messy on tables….
At one time a nice steakhouse….no more…
Great waiter, delicious food, will come afain!
When you’re paying $60+ for a steak, it should be fantastic. That’s not what we had. The filet was fine—a little north of medium rare, and a dash saltier than I prefer. The Wagyu was much better—really worth the $100 price tag and perfectly cooked. The sides were “meh.” Really nothing worth remembering (we ordered 4, so I feel like I got a good sampling), under-seasoned, and generally uninspired. I know that the steak is supposed to be the star of the show, but if the steak is worth $60, it should be served with whipped potatoes that are worth eating with it. The fries were especially disappointing—I had french fries at a greasy spoon diner that day for lunch, and I swear I couldn’t tell the difference—soggy and under-seasoned. I went in expecting the price tag, I just expected that the quality I got would be far beyond the other local steak houses in central MA, but it was not.
Always a nice night out. Food and Staff are outstanding.
Great steaks - wonderful service and a nice restaurant to visit.
Excellent food! Great spot for special occasions !
Attractive indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Our hostess was gracious and welcoming. Our server, Zuzu, was extremely pleasant, attentive, and able to answer all our questions without hesitation. Food portions and quality were excellent. Great location with ample parking. We will be back.
Area of opportunity is to upgrade the interior. Decor and lighting are dated and for the price point, surrounding should be a bit more upscale.
I wish I could say it was out of this world and worth the spend but it absolutely was not. The service was attentive but a little slow but the food was not at all noteworthy. The dessert was quite good (large chocolate chip cookie in skillet)
Karen was great. Food was amazing. It's a bit pricey but... We love it
The server is very good and Professional.
Ryan was our server and he was outstanding! Although, all the servers are great. We love this restaurant.
Steak is excellent!!! Good service.
One of our 2 favorite places food is great as are drinks but most of all they always have great staff!
We had a wonderful last night of summer dining al fresco. The martinis were glorious the meatball appetizer super tasty and the rolls were a perfect accompaniment to ensure we could sop up all the yummy sauce. The roasted cauliflower and hollandaise sauce was cooked perfectly al dente. And, to finish the night we indulged in a giant wedge of their infamous chocolate cake—it was beyond decadent. Our server Karen really made the night extra special for us. We will be back soon.
Unfortunately think we caught restaurant on an off night. Long long wait for food, plates weren’t cleared, and a disappointing experience. Again, hope it was a off night,
the menu has plenty of options and everything we have ordered has been delicious. I had baked oysters for an appetizer and the oysters were cooked perfectly, tender and luscious. For my entree, I had Wagyu steak that melted in my mouth, accompanied by roasted potatoes, asparagus and corn. The cocktails and wine were really good also. The service is always excellent, especially ZuZu and Sophia.
Unbelievable service, and great food!
Our server, Andy, was polite, patient and overall, a pleasure to work with! Thank you!
The food was awful and the drinks were not good. The steak was too tough Tibet’s and the fish was no where near fresh. Very disappointing. We were told that the kitchen was chaos with out a real chef. I’d be very surprised if this restaurant stays in business with so many great options.
The food was fabulous- our server was terrific / it was a great experience and I’ll be going back!
Great experience and Karen was awesome!!
We had a very enjoyable dinner at Smith and Wollensky.
We ate outdoors in the back. S&W has fenced off the back area with planters umbrellas, outdoor lighting and even heaters. A beautiful transformation.
The food was excellent. We had beef and lamb. Superb quality meat. The side dishes were delicious as well.
Our waiter, Mickey, was friendly, attentive, humorous but not overbearing. The manager, Devin, stopped by and was also welcoming and wanted to be sure our dinner was a great experience.
Highly recommeded. The menu is available on-line, so you can check to see if it is to your liking.
Terrible experience. Still waiting to hear back from restaurant after 48 hrs.
We came for a late lunch and the restaurant was almost empty. After receiving appetizers we sat with dirty plates in front of us while the waiter, manager and hostess were standing on the side laughing and looking at their phones. Neither food, ambience or service are close to Capital Grille. Very disappointed considering we spend over $500 with gratuity for a group of 4
Just not a good night. Long lapses in service. We were there an hour and a half before we received bread. Missed some items that were ordered. Lots of managers but no one stopped by to check in. Steak severely undercooked but I couldn’t bare the thought of sending it back as we had already been there so long. I was willing to cut some slack due to staffing crisis but this was beyond a little slow, and at these prices, I expected better. I’d recommend you take less patrons and service more appropriately.
Great and friendly staff
we arrived for our 6:45 table for 4 reservation a few minutes early. it was not very busy. we asked to sit at a high top in the bar where 1 table was occupied and were told no without an explanation. The host then seated us at the worst possible table right next to waiter station and door to kitchen. he was not friendly.
The food was overpriced, not cooked properly to our instructions, and memorable only in that so unremarkable. both pieces of prime rib were severely undercooked. Medium came medium rare minus, and medium rare was RARE-mooing rare. One would think they'd be able to get that right in a steak house. Oh and one of us wanted chicken which they were out of at 7:15-really!! She had salmon instead again unremarkable at best.At their very high menu prices, more is expected. We won't go there again.
Food was sublime. Service, excellent as always and I am always happily surprised to find a great sleeper in their liquor selection.
It was a very enjoyable experience, as ususal.
Great food, service and outdoor seating.
attentive and helpful service (thank you Dave), food was prepared and presented very well, delicious. Comfortable atmosphere
Order the filet dianne and the truffle mac & cheese together. You'll thank me.
None to input...Parking could be a lot easier though
They treated us very special for our anniversary! It was a great night out!
Always a good time. Randall is our favorite waiter and look forward to our next visit. Just need to restock your selection of Italian wines!
Lovely ambience although a little overpriced
Food was good.
Waiter was helpful.
Drinks were made badly and we notified the waiter
