Hailey was amazing and so knowledgable and friendly! Our first time dining here and we will be back!
Celebrated our 3 year anniversary. Food and service were awesome!
The food was very good! However our server knew very little and kept disappearing
Service very slow. Waitress nice but clueless. Never got our coffee. Nice atmosphere. Food good but nothing special
Service was really slow and unfortunately this is the second visit where that has occurred. Food and ambience were good just too long to wait for food.
The food and drinks were delicious and the service was excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch outside this visit! The food was great and so was the service. We’ve had the lovely Madison serve us before, and she is excellent. We would have stayed longer, but a rainstorm blew over and ran us out!
Loved the jazz night and food . Our server was so extremely nice ! He even offered to find a chair for my friend and I to sit our purses on.
We arrived at 5:30 while the restaurant was mainly empty but our server was so infrequent that by 6:45pm we had just gotten our food and needed to get the check and leave immediately to make our show. But more importantly the server argued with me about the menu (I have diet intolerances) insisting that whatever the ingredients listed were the only ingredients in the meal. I challenged her and she got clearly annoyed with me. Sure enough—they drench the corn on their cob salad in a dairy sauce. It was so hard to navigate the menu with diet needs and then to have it messed up, beyond late, lead to a terrible Friday evening meal. It was my first time there.
This place has a great design and vibe. Wine list is best in the Annapolis are.
Lobster roll and oysters were fantastic as was the service. The sangria was great too
Food was great, waitress was great. the app came out after the kids food and then the bread came out after that. otherwise, great
Had a girl's day brunch there with one of my friends, had not been there before so when I walked in I was very pleased with the visual, great spacing given the climate these days and it was quiet so I thought, great we will be able to hear each other talk and we were. My girlfriend and I thought we would come back for dinner at another time with our husbands. The waitress was decent, a little forgetful but we did not hold that against her. Now for the food...it was just ok. The reason you go to a restaurant is for the food, we both stated we probably will not rush at all to come back nor do I feel I would recommend it. We both had omelets and honestly I have had better omelets at iHop, the omelets were virtually cheese less, the potatoes were just ok and the dessert selection was blah. Not sure if the dinner menu is better and I will probably not find out. It was not horrible, but it was not good.
We had brunch there and had the crab cake benedict. I loved the potatoes that came with it and the benedict was great. Also I loved how they put two whole olives and celery in the great Bloody Mary. We had the cheesecake brulee for dessert and it was sooo good!
Appears the restaurant was short staffed as it took some time to get service. A fill in person (because she kept telling us that our waiter would be with us soon) finally arrived to assist. About 20 mins in our waiter arrived - wry friendly but exhausted came to assist. The food was mediocre, as this was much different from our first visit.
Presentation and flavor of the crab bisque was amazing. Two of us ordered steak au poivre. Both came out lukewarm (the garlic butter topping didn't melt), and one of us had a very tough steak. The manager and waiter were very responsive, which was a plus.
Service and food was excellent. Will definitely go back.
I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I would go once a week if I could!
The food was horrible . I ordered chicken pasta it was bland . They gave us appetizer bread mid dinner . I won’t be going back.
The restaurant has great ambience with excellent service. The food is a excellent in presentation and taste. The one drawback is the price of cocktails and wine. There are no wines under $50/bottle and the cocktails are priced $15 each.
Went there for a friends birthday and it was my 6th time there. Worst experience I’ve had so far. The waitress was short and MIA most of the night. The food was subpar at best for everyone at the table. Spent a lot of money for fatty undercooked meat (I asked for medium it was more on the rare side)and luke warm calamari… I understand that restaurants are short staffed but that shouldn’t effect the quality of food when you pay a good price for it. Definitely won’t be planning any events there again.
Food was awful
Our first time at Smashing Grapes, it was just ok. Service was probably the only best part. The flatbread was ok but needed a flavor boost of something, we selected the prosciutto. It was odd that the restaurant used sliced tomatoes, I think grapes tomatoes would have been better. We quickly noticed that we should have splurged on the wine and bought a bottle, their glass pours for the price are SMALL! We split the burger, which was good, fries on the side. Fries were hot when the food came out but as they sat, they began to get hard! We sat on the patio which for the most part was nice but the highway noise is awful. I really really wanted to love this place but I didn’t, probably would not return.
It was an awesome experience. Date with my husband. We really enjoy this location.
The Spice Jazz was playing and we wanted to listen to jazz and have something to eat.
It’s not a bad place. Decent atmosphere, nice employees, food was fine, but ultimately overpriced for the quality you receive.
Highly recommend. The food is good and the service was excellent. Darrell was an awesome server and has great knowledge of wines.
Great experience. We will be back. Pianist & vocalist were amazing.
First time and I was pleasantly surprised. Had heard mixed reviews, but everything we ordered was delicious
Birthday. Excellent experience, server was very friendly, excellent service and excellent recommendations. Had a wonderful evening with exceptional weather, good friends, and great atmosphere. Wine and food were were paired well. Overall, a fantastic evening.
Special occasion place for us, but it IS special! Nice menu, not just the boring standard Annapolis fare. Extensive wine list with great staff recommendations. Food quality and service are outstanding. We'll be back!
We decided to try Smashing Grapes for lunch, having not been there before. We were able to be seated outside, which was our preference. We were greeted by the manager and taken to our table. She gave us suggestions for items to consider ordering. Our waitress greeted us with a winning smile and was very friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering the tempura cauliflower with accompanying blue cheese and hot sauce dips. It was fantastic and was enough to share as an appetizer. We also tried their Sangria, one white and one Red. The were pleasantly not too sweet. One of us had the Cali Cobb salad and the the other had the short rib Reuben sandwich. Both meals were good and we both had food to take home because the portions were generous.
We both enjoyed the environment, staff, meal and drinks, but felt the prices were higher than we would want to spend on a regular basis. Will definitely return, but for special occasions.
There is no wi-fi and NO cellular service in the building so my date and I could not text, call or find each other. He was outside and I was inside but we could not communicate with each other or the outside world. I could not even turn my phone on or off to reset it. I understand they may not want to offer wifi but you have to have cellular signal or get that fixed whatever is blocking it. It isnt safe or desirable for business people. The wait staff was very nice but it was frustrating. The wine is very over-priced and the restaurant is too hot and humid. I sat inside to be cool and comfy but it was cooler outside.
Quiet Sunday brunch. Food was only OK for the price charged. Server was over attentive bordering on annoying.
The portion was small considering how much the cost was per plate.
We were the first ones getting there. The service was extremely slow. And my daughter got sick from the food . Not a good experience.
Very warm and inviting place on pricey side but coming from Ohio small town hard to compare
Wine list is extensive but “ cheapest bottle is 40&
Most range in 46 to 60$ range with a bunch higher
I guess typical for area
The crab bisque was excellent one of best we’ve ever had.
Had rockfish was good salad was enough for 4
The cheesecake brûlée was delicious!
Would go again if in area
The food and service were great. We were welcomed with friendly greetings at the front desk, which set the tone for the evening. Loved the brick chicken and rock fish. Great meal all around!
We really enjoyed the restaurant week menu. My friend and I both had the swordfish which neither of us have had before. It was very flavorful. I thought it was odd we had to ask our server for the restaurant week menu and it wasn’t being promoted. The service was on the slower side but we were not in a rush by any means so that wasn’t a problem. Really beautiful place, can be fancy or casual. Bathrooms were clean!!! (Big deal for me lol). I did not care for the dessert profiteroles. Will definitely be back!
