Slanted Door Las Vegas
In 1995, Charles Phan and his family started their first restaurant, The Slanted Door, in the Mission district in San Francisco with an honest vision of serving vibrant home-style Vietnamese food in a modern setting. Charles received the James Beard Award for Best Chef California in 2004 and The Slanted Door awarded Outstanding Restaurant in 2014. Charles wrote two cookbooks : "Vietnamese Home Cooking"(2012) and "The Slanted Door"(2014), both of which won IACP awards in First Cookbook and Photography respectively.
I ate there 3 days...everything was great. the duck was unbelievable. for a new restaurant they have it together.
Great food, service and ambience.
It was as good as the one in San Francisco. Always a fantastic dinner.
We had an amazing time at the slanted door. I have been lucky enough to visit their original location in SF and this new spot did not disappoint. The food was delicious, restaurant was beautiful and the service was amazing. Would highly suggest visiting this spot while it is still easy to get a reservation, I have no doubt it’ll be just as popular as the SF location soon!!
Excellent service; great food. only down side is the location is in the caesar's forum.
we had a reservation for 6 guests, upon walking to the restaurant we called to add a 7th guest and were told we would be required to dine off of an $85 preset menu. after a short conversation with the hostess as we were already walking within the hotel, she said they would "figure it out" and to come over.
upon arrival we noticed there were only 2 other guests in the venue, at 8pm on a Friday night.
We had 2 servers, neither which knew of any of the spirits offered. they did not have a gin or name brand Vodka for martinis. Following a few more interactions like this we decided to leave and dine/drink elsewhere, now we were the only patrons in the venue. As we were exiting, the server was speaking with the manager, i assume asking why the only guests were leaving. The Manager did not attempt to speak with us or invite us back in for another attempt.

The food was INCREDIBLE - I've been to the San Fransisco location before and was super excited to get to try out Vegasin the first week of opening! So glad to have been the first person to recieve a fresh squeezed orange juice since they opened. Service was awesome and the ambiaunce is perfect for Vegas.
Duck was cold and was half raw half overcooked.
Pork ribs were cold
Plates were not preheated.
They agreed and took it off the bill.
Four of us had dinner here on the third night after they opened. Service was excellent ( thank you Juliette!), ambience was nice and food and drinks very good. We had excellent Mai Tais and also enjoyed some wine. We especially enjoyed the spring rolls, cellophane noodles with crab and pea shoots. Dinner was a bit pricey as our bill was over $300 but we will back!
We have been to the Slanted Door in San Francisco and enjoyed it, so were excited to see Slanted Door coming to Las Vegas. We were able to enjoy a meal during their soft opening. The service was excellent - especially considering that they are still working out the kinks of a new restaurant. The food was very good, although nothing exceptional. The filet mignon (shaking beef) was a bit tough, although tasty. The cocktails was bitters overload, so was really not good. The biggest disappointment was how expensive this place was compared to SF. The shaking beef was $48 (vs $36). The cellophane noodles were $37 (vs $21) and were a surprisingly small portion. Slanted Door has a prime spot on the Strip, so they might survive, but the price point for what you get will keep me from being a repeat customer.
The food was absolutely AMAZING and the staff was friendly, funny, and attentive. A family atmosphere for sure!
Amazing service and great location. You can see it from the outside of the Forum Shops. Food was a little pricey, but expected for a chef owned, high end place on the strip. We had wine pairings with the different plates we ordered. Ricky’s suggestions were spot on. Duck, crab, spring rolls, and cream puffs over a bed of warm chocolate for dessert. Amazing evening. Thank you.
In a word, exceptional!
From starters to entrees to desserts, the care and attention that they put into every dish will make your night a memorable one. This coupled with amazing servers by Robert, (make sure you ask for him), will make you want to keep coming back for more.
Chef Lanny Chin and team have really outdone themselves with this one.
Great ambiance, great service. The noodles with the crab and the fried veggie wraps were fabulous. They have a fancier name but thats the best I can do without the menu in front of me :)
