Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse. Kids and adults can enjoy a variety of games, the very popular shark bar and 'shrimp boat' playground. Kids can play while families are waiting for a table, or simply enjoying the amazing waterfront views.

Great staff, great views and atmosphere, and the portions of food were reasonably priced. Our experience is by no means a reflection on the restaurant’s quality at all times, however or food was underwhelming to say the least. I got the BBQ plate, and my wife got the Dockside Collection. The ribs were great, but the other meats were overdone and dry; the sauce bucket saved the day! The seafood was good, but my wife said the mashes potatoes were the best she’d ever had. Did we eat it all? Yes. Would we come here again? Also, yes! It’s not uncommon to have off days, but definitely worth trying again.

While we realize it’s a busy time of year on the island, service was slow. Our server was great but she was busy with to many tables. The food was just ok, it’s been better.

We were visiting from Virginia and were told to try dockside on the island. The view was amazing as the restaurant sits on the water. We made reservations and were greeted with the most professional Hostesses. The waitress was sweet and answered any questions we had. The drinks were great. Our food however lacked seasoning. The overall taste was mildly bland as we ordered the shrimp & calamari platter, the friend chicken w/ mash & Mac and the lobster with seasonal vegetables. The creamy collard greens gave spinach casserole. It was an experience and we are glad we tried it.

We had a party of 9 with 5 adults and 4 children;ages 11 to 5. Our reservation was for 7:00. We were promptly seated. The restaurant Was extremely full and the island had a storm earlier in the day with internet outages. You would have never known. The staff had to go back to writing orders. The food was delicious and hot with all meals served at the same time. Kudos to the staff! This was our first visit but will certainly return.

Even though the internet was spotty, the servers were working diligently to take orders and keep things moving. Managers were at tables checking in, food was excellent and we all loved the vibe and atmosphere.

Excellent food and service. Our group had a variety of entrees, clam strips, fried shrimp & scallops, one of the nightly specials. Beautiful views always a plus.

Service was slower than we anticipated. Our server was working really hard and appeared to have a lot of tables and be spread a little thin. He was very kind and apologetic. The shrimp & grits was outstanding! We will definitely be back, as we enjoyed the views and atmosphere and believe this could have been a one-off situation.
