Our dinner was amazing! They had a great selection of wine and cocktails, and the food was incredible. I would highly recommend this to anyone!
Pizza was delicious! The mozzarella al minudo was incredible!!!
Service and food was very good. The amount of distance between tables was very good, and all staff wore masks.
I came to this place day after opening and we loved it. We had whipped ricotta, shrimp pizza, cauliflower, brussels, and a pasta. Came back last night and none of opening menu was on current menu. They had whipped ricotta for happy hour only- we got there 10 min past and asked if we could have it for appetizer price and were told no. They place was empty for a Friday night. I know this is a tough time with COvID but turning away specialties on your menu to customers doesn’t work well For your appearance.
We order special halibut and was bland. The pizza was just pizza- meatballs nothing special. Shrimp picatta was good. Overall just ok. First night blew me away and now just overly disappointed after what I thought they could do.
I would highly recommend getting back to menu you had and allowing happy hour apps at all times.
Great food and service! Will be back!
Got the calzone. Mostly bread and no ricotta. Also got the salmon and a pizza and it was not very tasty at all. We had a table for 6 and no one at table was very pleased with the food. It was over priced for the quality.
Several friends and I met at Sipango for dinner and were so glad we chose this place, as it’s new and we typically have a tendency to go to the tried and true places when we go downtown. We sat in the dining room, which is decorated beautifully. We enjoyed several delicious appetizers , my favorite were the Octopus and the Mozzarella al Minuto.
Everyone loved their entrees. I ordered the Chicken Marsala, it was DELICIOUS!
Our server was wonderful. I can’t recommend Sipango enough. We will definitely be back!
Attended for a Birthday, and the food/service were exemplary. A must restaurant that feels like you are in Rome.
Went with 6 friends for my wife’s bday. Ordered 4 martinis that were the worst martinis anyone had ever had. Appetizers were not bad but everyone’s entrees were terrible! Honestly to even call This place Italian is a joke. The sauce on the pizza and lasagna was way way way to sweet. The noodles were way overdone. All staff was very nice but just terrible food.
Food was very good with a good level of service place looked just like last restaurant to be here other than a few paintings changed it was very quite as we arrived early and people still not going out due to covid
The choice of fish was $31 and $36. Definitely not for an advertised $$ restaurant. It’s a pub-style feel - wood tables in booths. You’d expect to pay those prices in an upscale restaurant. The staff, however was very nice and friendly.
Did not like We had salad, pizza and lasagna. Servers were nice though
Lovely new restaurant that made our date night great!
Marti is a fantastic waitress. Good knowledge of the menu. Overall selection is grand and the atmosphere is wonderful during a tough time. Thank you
Just something about the menu didn’t excite us. What we had was good. A few of the apps were too large for two people which made it difficult to graze the menu.. nothing bad nothing wow
Servers were very nice!
Is it fine dining or upscale pizza place? Depends on where you look it up. Either way, good was very tasty. Limited menu (from the virus?). Portions were average. Ambience was nice.
We loved the food!!
Excellent Margarita Pizza and salad. Social distancing was not a problem.
Made the trip downtown to finally try Sipango, I had planned to visit before lockdown but they were unfortunate enough to open right before. So happy I did! The chicken parmesan is just the best I have tasted in Charleston. We had a couple of pizzas, the fungi and the prosciutto and pineapple. This pizza crust is insanely tasty! I can't stop thinking about it. The prosciutto and pineapple was my favorite, and they add peppers and lemoncello glaze to give it some tang - brilliant! Homemade mozzarella is to die for. I absolutely loved everything I tried at this restaurant! Also wanted to add that they really made us feel comfortable with the ongoing pandemic. Everything was very clean, we were 6 feet from anyone else, and kitchen staff was in facemasks.
Definitely will go back
Sipango is a new restaurant, and that showed when we went there for dinner this past Saturday night. My wife asked for a negroni cocktail with bourbon or rye instead of gin. She was first told that she could not have it because all the drinks were premixed; she then was told she could have it, and they brought her one. We ordered two appetizers to start. One was fried artichoke; the breading on the pieces of artichoke was so thick it obscured all the flavor of the artichoke and the dipping sauce added no flavor either. We also ordered steamed mussels, which had some potential in the flavor department but had been sitting out of the cooking liquid so long they were lukewarm-to-cool at serving. The restaurant is supposedly an Italian restaurant but there are hardly any Italian wines on the menu. Given all this, we gave up and left after the appetizers. The one compensation was that they comped my wife on the cocktail. This place really needs to get its act together to compete with all the really good Italian restaurants in Charleston.
We enjoyed cocktails, salad, and lasagna! Lovely service and atmosphere.
Happened to find this new restaurant on Open Table. Nice decor, friendly staff. Food pretty good, esp the wood fired pizza. Good drinks...you should try it!
