The food was amazing! Really reasonably priced especially with how good it was. The sweet potato fries are probably the best I’ve ever had. We ate dinner and breakfast there and it was all very good.

We've celebrated events at the Homestead restaurant for literally decades, and this experience was not up to the standards we would have expected from previous visits. Clearly from the number of tables set up, the volume of customers using the restaurant has significantly dropped from previous years. The food wasn't bad, but more what I would expect to get at a $ not a $$$ location. If you're staying at the Homestead, there's nothing wrong with Simon's, but it won't be the highlight of your experience.

My girlfriends & I stayed at the Homestead and ate dinner at Simons. The food was wonderful and the service was great! If I was a local, I would eat here often!

We had such a wonderful special occasion dinner at Simon's. Our server was attentive and friendly and made the experience wonderful. The chicken and grits as well as the pesto pasta were DELISH. The strawberry cheesecake just divine. The view we had of the water was pleasant and we got to watch both a blue heron and a kingfisher fly around. It was basically dinner and a show! Beautiful atmosphere and gorgeous, unique setting. The entire experience was fantastic.

Bit overpriced. The waitress seemed annoyed that we were even there. We had a reservation for 8:45 and all this lady seemed to care about was going home like as she was poorly serving us. They didn’t have the wine my S.O. Wanted so she just subbed it for crappy Prosecco and didn’t offer anything else. We were like the only people in the place and she barely came to refill water. My side came out cold, and she was more worried about leaving than giving us a decent service. She just kept telling us how she wanted to leave and how the kitchen was gonna leave. Again it was mayybbeee 8:50 this restaurant isn’t supposed to close until 10pm. Would not recommend. Food was okay. My steak was pretty damn good

Excellent experience! The food was great and the views are amazing. Lots of flowers on the property, and there are cabins to rent. A great venue for weddings or family reunions!

For $80 per adult I absolutely expect much better. The food that was offered wasn't terrible but it also wasn't great. For kids all they offered was chicken strips and corn? For brunch? No pancakes, no waffles, no french toast. If it was $30 per person I wouldn't have been so horrified. Will not repeat this mistake.

Food was awful!! It was so disappointing! Expensive and then they added on a $35 surcharge fee on top of gratuity for having 7 people. So we could have sat at 2 different tables and not been charged but, you would have had to clean 2 tables. $226 for two adults and a 9 year old for horrible food. So gross. We will never eat at homestead again. Ruined my Mother’s Day morning

Came here for wine and dessert and then again for brunch the next morning. I would skip the food altogether. Nothing impressive or worth eating really. Some good bottles of wine and attentive service, however. Also, no other options in the area...

On our way to Madison to see the Ice Castle’s there. Took a chance at nearby diner reservations and was pleasantly surprised at this gem at The Homestead Hotel. We enjoyed our selections from a varied menu including perfectly prepared roasted fresh trout and a wonderful charcuterie platter. Wine selection was adequate.

We ordered 3 steaks medium, they were all well done. We ordered 3 hamburgers, they were all very well done. The don’t have the pop over rolls anymore that we used to love! Their menu has totally changed, so before you book there take a look at the menu. We won’t go back. The manager was very nice and the server. He said they only had one cook. For that I feel bad, but our bill was expensive, so for the price of the food and for it not being amazing was not worth it.

Only half of the tables were open for seating, making the restaurant very small, allowing for it to be very calm and very quiet. The servers were very happy and pleasant. No one was in a hurry. Average place, for simple food, simple atmosphere, and easy, care-free evening.

The restraunt was so cold. Good thing we were sitting by the fire. We had our waitress put more wood on the fire so we wouldn't freeze. 1/2 of our group had to wear coats through out dinner. The price was too high for what you received. More options would be nice.

I thought this would be typical sports bar food. However, the food was different and delicious. I had the stuffed portabella mushroom, and it was wonderful. A table next to us and a cheesy steak sandwich which they claimed is all they get when they come here. My father had a wonderful halibut that was not over cooked and came with lovely sautéed veggies. Nice dinner. The service people were really hustling and friendly.

Unorganized, took people without reservations before parties waiting in lobby with them. Drinks not included in buffet, NEVER been to a buffet where they weren’t. Complementary coffee available in the lobby just outside restaurants entrance, was charged $3.50 inside. Food was Luke warm and we were some of the first few at opening. Cobbler worst I’ve ever experienced. Unfortunate.

Looked at then menu and expected a sit down restaurant where you ordered. Turns out it was a buffet for $22 per person. The food was what you would expect for a continental breakfast not almost $50 worth. Would not go there again.

We were there for Easter brunch. It was definitely downscaled from previous years but the food was great and the staff was fantastic. It was a great experience. I loved that it wasn't huge and terribly crowded.
