Such a fun place and great food!
Good service. good food and a nice view of Denver lights
Even after returning the steak, it was still served raw. The desert was not as described, the wait staff and kitchen were indifferent to the issues.
We like this place and have had good food there in the past. Great calamari, tuna... We will go back, one bad experience doesn’t eliminate the positive ones.
Food is substandard quality
I understand that people like buffets but the food is cold quickly and they offer hot plates for the salad. We arrived when some of the stations were empty. The large windows are great but the lighting and floor coloring is on the dark side. The food is below average (my opinion). Our server was friendly and quick.
I didn’t try some of the buffet food because several of the food warmers were empty. Noise level was so loud, I couldn’t hear my guest conversation. I had to hunt for our waiter several times. We couldn’t find him when we needed our check.
I brought my mom here for brunch. I was expecting this spectacular spread with amazing brunch, maybe a mimosa bar, French toast bar, food was not as good as you get there when going to Dinner at Simms. It was great service, and the wait staff is always amazing. I just wish the food was better. We will stick to dinner there from now on.
Usually good food and great service. This night food was mediocre and service was less than stellar.
The steak was excellent. It took too long for the main course to arrive.
It was great.
The brunch was very good. However the noise was quite loud. Only two at my table and we almost had to shout to hear each other. The music was very loud and the place was very busy so lots of people talking.
Food and service is always outstanding. This is my favorite steakhouse for those reasons and the stunning views.
We were a group of 6 and sat at too small of a table. There was no room for all the extensive plates/glasses/etc typically in a setting for a high-end restaurant. The food was HORRIBLE. I paid $16 for a mediocre glass of wine that was a 1/3 full pour (too overpriced, and I enjoy many high-priced restaurants.) I ordered Mahi-Mahi that seemed like it was a TV dinner fish; it was tough, dry and flavorless. I switched the vegetables for potatoes that were very dry. Someone else ordered potato soup that was so thick and filled with vegetables that it was almost a stew. My lobster bisque had WAY too much sheri (although it had a fair amount of lobster, which was its salvation). The rolls were fair. The soda was small and my husband was never offered a refill. I didn't check the price of sodas and whether or not it included a refill, though. Overall, price to quality value was awful. We will never eat there again.
I had a great dinner in a beautiful restaurant. The city views are gorgeous. I had a drink at the bar first and the bartenders were both nice guys.
I had dinner at a beautiful window seat at the far end of a vast dining room. If I were on a date the privacy would have been wonderful. But as a single diner I started to feel really isolated. While I was reading the menu and sipping a glass of wine they were moving tables hammering and rearranging the room to accommodate a party of 75 for the next day. Or so my server told me. When I first sat down there were other diners around me, so I didn’t have any advanced warning of what was to come. But once I had started my meal it felt uncomfortable to ask to move. So I stayed put. It wasn’t ideal. But truthfully they made up for it. My server was terrific. The food was delicious. The all clad over pan they served my Brussels sprouts in was a really interesting presentation. My steak was great and their bread is delicious! I’m not a fan of cinnamon sugar butter, but their bread was excellent all by itself. I had a great time and a excellent meal. I will be back!
Dan, our server, was very knowledgeable about the menu. He helped answer all questions regarding allergies, greatly appreciated! It was our first time their and it was delicious! I wish I could have eaten ten more crab cakes and key-lime pies! Highly recommend
Great service great meal love this place!
New Years eve
New Year Eve. A frequent patron of Simms Landing the experience was a disaster. Luke warm food a steak Denny's would be embarrassed to serve especially at $38.00 dollars. Heard others complaining. Will not be back.
Dining experience was excellent and we can't wait to return.
Due to menu and customer service changes, my wife and I were looking for a replacement for our anniversary dinner which for five of seven years had taken place at Morton’s of Denver.
We are so glad we found Simms Steakhouse! The view of Denver, the fireplaces, the Service were all fantastic! We were fifteen minutes early and were seated immediately! Our server was attentive to my wife’s food allergies, and did appear put out when needing to check with the cook staff of ingredients.
The food.... the food is amazing! From the drinks and appetizers to the Steak and sides the food was fabulous! It was great to find a restaurant that knows how to cook a thick steak without burning it! The salads were fresh, crisp! The bourbon bacon appetizer was a treat!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and Simms Steakhouse, an establishment that puts Mortons of Denver to shame! The icing is that we no longer have to deal with downtown traffic, and paying for parking!
The ambiance is great, the table setting perfect, and noise level is low so talking at your table isn’t a problem. Was there for Sunday brunch. For the price the variety was good. That’s about where it ends. The food was cold, salmon over done, prime rib super rare, and shrimp over cooked. Really wanted to like it, but was wishing I was somewhere else.
Food and service were excellent. Everything arrived as ordered and the waitstaff was attentive without being overly intrusive. I would love to give Simm’s a 10/10 but when I arrived there was an active leak in the ceiling directly above the entry in the restaurant. I understand that stuff happens, and roofs will leak. However, this is not the first time this leak has appeared. Same spot seems to leak every time it rains/snows. If I’m about to drop $150 per person I would like to be greeted by something other than buckets with dish towels over them. Also, dust the wine/steak display case in the entry. The first impression here is awful which undermines the rest of what was an otherwise great experience.
Building needs some upgrades, but overall a fantastic experience
Service was good but the food were not worth $59 per entree. The ribeye special- the steak was ok but the wine gravy was horrible! It reminded me of gravy that typically served with liver dish to cover up the smell. I ordered medium well for the steak, it was well done. My husband ordered medium but the steak came out medium rare. The mashed potatoes were good but the asparagus were over cooked and old. The entree tasted like a crockpot meal with onion gravy. It was definitely an experience but not a dining experience.
Took my parents for a pre-holiday Sunday brunch. Perhaps my expectation were too high, but this us supposed to be a pretty nice steakhouse. The entire experience was mediocre at best. First, the menu is bizarre with many dinner items; meat and potatoes and nothing seemed fresh. French onion soup, no crouton, no cheese. The pork and beef brisket was steamed yet still dry; too many carbs: ravioli, roasted potatoes and mashed potatoes. Hardly any vegetables except the pulverized green bean casserole. The breakfast items were all out. In fact, everything was out, rushed employees crashing into guests trying to keep up in a small, undecorated space. The Eggs Benedict was literally a hard boiled egg, omelets looked so dry I didn't bother, and the prime rib was so fatty I didn't eat it. The crab legs were as big as toothpicks and not worth the mess of cracking them open, and the shrimp was unpeeled and tasteless. Our server was friendly and professional, but she had so many big tables we didn't get our plates cleared when we tried the dessert. The dessert table was sparse - tiny donuts and a chocolate fountain. The place was very crowded as it seemed many many seniors were there to take advantage of the $21 price. So, maybe for $21 it was OK. But the experience overall did not bode well for this restaurant as an upscale steakhouse.
You should allow parking on the upper level of your south parking lot and move the valet service to the lower parking. Your steps are a killer for an old guy like me.
We went to the Sunday buffet. We were seated as soon as we arrived. We were 15 minutes early. Our table was next to a large, panoramic window with a wonderful view of the Denver skyline. Service was quick and attentive. We had 2 wait staff checking on us frequently. There was a huge selection of brunch items, from traditional bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, all the way up to shrimp and crab legs. Many other items like quiche, baked ravioli, rolled pancakes and French toast and many more items. The omelet station was quick with any order of eggs prepared to order. There was also a dessert section with pastries and cheese cake and a large selection of fresh fruit. With our senior discount, it was only $19.95 per person. A great meal and a great deal! We'll be back. Thank you Simms Steakhouse.

It was fabulous
We went to Simms last year when we visited Denver and the food was incredible. When we made plans to visit Denver for thanksgiving this year, our first thought was to make reservations at Simms for thanksgiving dinner. I made the reservation months ago and didn’t know it was a buffet. I found out it was a buffet Wednesday when I called to add one more to our reservation, which I wa grateful that they honored my request. The buffet was terrible. First, it was incredibly messy with food on the floor and all over the tables. The prime rib was so salty we couldn’t eat it. The food in the serving dishes was cold and lacked flavor. We were there at 7:30p for dinner and half of the buffet was breakfast foods (French toast, eggs, etc). The dessert consisted of marshmallows, rice crispy treats, vanilla wafers, and strawberries with a chocolate fondue. There were also bite sized brownies and plain cheesecake. Not what I was expecting from simms on thanksgiving. I would have much rather preferred the regular menu. I’d also suggest when people make a reservation and the menu is going to be different, you let the person know so that they are aware. We were greatly disappointed with the holiday buffet. I would recommend Simms when it’s off the menu, not a buffet.
The food selections were great but cold and not kept up on very well. The desserts were great. The ambience is great and the view amazing.
Thanksgiving buffet was mostly breakfast items even after 4 pm We were very disappointed .It was Golden Coral style buffet not an upscale steak restaurant
The food was mediocre at best. Many of the item seem to have come straight out of a package or box.
everything was simply great. Mark took great care in coordinating the event for my mothers 92nd birthday. Wyatt served us and was exceptional. We will return again and again
A nice place for holding special occasions gatherings
Thanksgiving buffet? Yes please. Got to eat a ton and didn’t have to clean up! Wonderful food and service.
Food and service was amazing
Our experience at Simms Steakhouse was superior. The wait staff, service, food, everything was sensational. Will be returning very soon. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Great meal, wait staff recommendations were spot on!
The food was quite good overall but a bit on the pricey side. The service was excellent our server Eddie was wonderful. The kitchen was a bit slow on delivery of our main course. The view was amazing and we enjoyed it. It was a bit too loud though, a bit hard to have a quiet discussion over dinner. They did try extra hard to make our very special occasion feel important.
Jenna was a wonderful server
The food was cooked to perfection
