Silk n' Spice Restaurant
Just like the Dhabbas of the the Silk Route, East is East is home to everyone. Artists, musicians, minstrels and youth eat next to business men, politicians and professionals. Come and experience the mystery and vibrancy of the east, right here in Vancouver.
Great food and always enjoy the live music.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's 70th birthday. Our server was excellent, the food was very good, and we very much enjoyed the live music. We love the ambience and will definitely be back.
Music was very good.
Nice arrangement of violin.
Food is alway good.
We had an outstanding experience! The food, service, and live music were all top notch
The appetizer plate though beautifully presented, had a very strong spice in one of the dips that gave me indigestion. My vegetarian roti with salad and soup was delicious, however; the server brought it out before we had finished our appetizers. In hindsight, I should of asked the server to take it back to the kitchen until we were ready. As a result my meal wasn’t hot.☹️
great birthday party for my wife and kids. excellent staff and outstanding food and music. it would be perfect if it had something very simple for 5 yr old kids, as (unfortunately) they are used to french fries and catchup.
Delicious as always.
As always the food was beautiful, the live entertainment was awesome and our server, Lindsay, was fantastic
Super flavours not crazy hot just very interesting and flavourful.
Delicious food! I love the Chai Feast because then I get to try a few different foods. Also the live music is a nice touch.
Very tasty food, the chairs could have been a bit more comfortable. Especially just the wooden stools however the group had a lovely time and we hope to return soon in the future.
Our first visit and won't be our last.My wife and I sat along side each other and both could watch and listen to the musicians. The food and service was beyond expectations.
Excellent food and the entertainment was perfect. The service staff were also very accommodating.
First time. With friends. All enjoyed the “feast” option. Service was excellent. Helped resolve concerns with the first wine selection...no issues. Enjoyed the music. Dance show was little loud for a small venue so couldn’t visit easily during show. But breaks allowed time.
We’ll definitely come back.
Went with our daughter and grandchildren for our anniversary dinner. Wait staff very accomodating for the children aged 10 and 7. Had kids dinners out very quickly. We all enjoyed the atmosphere. Our food was delicious.
Would recommend highly. When we go out, which is not often,we like to eat food we do not normally prepare. This is one of those places.
Not good value for money. Drinks too expensive, portions small.
Great experience. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was making space for the shared dishes on the table. We were a group of 8!
Silk n’ Spice Restaurant was beyond expectation! The staff was very polite and nice and the food was amazing ! Very delicious, definitely coming back here next time I visit !
Wasn’t impress with food or the seating outside.
We had such an amazing experience. Loved the food the service and the atmosphere.
The restaurant is very interesting and fun, the food is quite delicious but the chairs and the seating are extremely uncomfortable. While artsy and rustic it is still extremely uncomfortable. I could only hope that they might invest in some table and chairs or at minimum modify the wall benches to be a least a little bit comfortable and anthropomorphically correct and more in keeping with the calibre of the food and the very pleasant service. Did I mention that the seating is EXTREMELY uncomfortable? If they were to fix the seating it would be a great dining experience.
Food and service was excellent
A little spacey service but overall friendly and kind.
Great service & recommendations from Mya, our server. Chai feast was fun & great way to taste several dishes. We will be back again in the future.
We dine here regularly and enjoy bringing out of towners to experience the food and ambiance.
Beautiful space! Delicious food! Wonderful to enjoy a tasty lunch with family at a place that offers, healthy foods with GF and Vegan options. Worth the drive!! Thank you!
The castanet dancers were a little much. We were ten feet away and it was difficult to hear each other.
Very tasty, and nicely located in Kitsilano
The roti rolls are good value for money and quite filling.
the seating is not very comfortable, server never asked if we wanted after dinner drinks or dessert.
Daughters graduation. Service, food, music and ambiance were superb. Highly recommended. - particularly the Chai tea.
Food was great, service was really slow though, even to get our drinks and a long time to get the check even though the place had nearly cleared out
From start to finish Silk n' Spice was a superior dining experience. Host and table staff were friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. The decor is stunning and the ambiance ideal. Chai and bread were offered as soon as we were seated. The menu is presented originally, a set dinner with variations, and we were all impressed with the flavours and presentation of our meals. Toque Flamenco, the entertainment, is the perfect dance and music ensemble for the venue. We will definitely return to this restaurant.
Food is always amazing and service is always fantastic! We love the chai feast because it's such a perfect way to try a little bit of everything. The eggplant mushroom curry is absolutely divine!
Our dining experience would have been a lot better if it wasn’t for our distrscted server.
Always a great time when we attend. The boulani is the best as well as eastern ecstasy. I always get the Ghandara Blues roll which never disappoints.
East is East has been my favorite restaurant for years and I highly recommend it, amazing food and chai, lovely ambiance and service.
The food was amazing as always. Service was friendly. And live music never disappoints. I will keep coming back.
Our waitress was super sweet and overall helpful. I did feel the service was a bit slow (bringing out the food) just because there were so many people in restaurant that night and other 2 Birthday parties that night? I was really not happy with the location of our tables right by the entrance and the scene. That’s where the people were lining up and the “live music ” which turned out to be a FlAMENCO DANCE was just too loud ! I guess they should have mentioned it or at at least discuss the seating with me when I called you numerous times ! Also please update online that you DO Seve alcohol at this location. We had a great night never the less so big thanks !!
An extremely tasty menu featuring many Afghan, Tibetan, Pakistani and Indian dishes rarely encountered elsewhere. The service was excellent and before we left to go to the restaurant, I received a very pleasant phone cal confirming my reservation. Decor was rustic and interesting. We went for linch but discovered that live musical entertainment from Silk Road countries is a feature in the evenings. We shall most certainly return !!
We had a small child with us and the staff were very accommodating. Music was great
