About Signature, Inspired by Chef Andrew Weissman
If you find yourself dreaming of the Texas Hill Country, savory comforts, spice, and the sultry depth of a fine Burgundy, you’ll be pleased to know that Signature, Inspired by Chef Andrew Weissman is now open at La Cantera Resort & Spa.
The menu is straightforward and beguiling, featuring Andrew’s contemporary interpretations of classic dishes — fresher, brighter versions of traditional cuisine enlivened with unconventional Texas spirit. Gulf seafood conspires with Atlantic Coast oysters flown in fresh, house-aged sirloin easily holds its own with Pacific Northwest lamb, and the Hill Country is well-represented with venison, dove and quail. Local and organic ingredients change the menu as the seasons peak and wane, but the constants are quality, flavor, artistry in the kitchen and a warm welcome when you walk in the door.

Signature, Inspired by Chef Andrew Weissman Ratings and Reviews
This is my favorite restaurant in San Antonio thus far (over the past 7 years). Il Sogno (another great Andrew Weissman restaurant) is a close second. Everything about the dining experience was perfect! The ambiance, drinks, food, service, and scenery exude excellence. I highly recommend this restaurant to those looking to splurge on a true San Antonio dining experience! Well done Chef Weissman!
Signature is the epitome of outstanding food, great ambience and superb service. The wine list is comprehensive and expertly guided by the sommelier. Visually this is an appealing set up where you can fully see the action in the kitchen. The staff is superbly attentive. It’s luxurious dining is a pristine setting. Dining before sundown brings a beautiful view of the gold course and nearby resort.
Highly recommended for a date, business dinner or any special occasion.
Clayton and Sommelier Adam Spencer took incredible care of us as we enjoyed our 3.5 hour dining escapade. They guided us to an Incredible meal from the fresh Nova Scotia oysters, escargot buried in a quail egg with chorizo crema, cauliflower cream soup accompanied with a lime cannoli, pheasant tucked into a bed of creamy mashed potatoes with wild mushrooms and ciopinno shellfish stew. Wonderful dining experience yet again from Chef Wiseman!
We were met by a great doorman, then by friendly hostesses who gave us an introduction to the restaurant and bartenders. At the bar we met Allen who went over the menu. Once our table was ready we met our waiter, Aaron, who delighted us with his knowledge if the restaurant after only a month of employment!
The night was wonderful and we are already planning our next visit!
This has to be one of the best brunch experiences that I have had. I love brunch, it is a life style, this is a perfect French inspired brunch in a beautiful ambiance.
The restaurant has beautiful views of the hills, it has big windows to let the natural light in. The waiter was very knowledgeable of all the items, he even pronounced the items on the menu in French. His name is Stevie, like Stevie Wonder. Highly recommend him as your server.
If you like to have a fancy brunch, this is the perfect place!
The food was okay , nothing special the salad was excellent , the fish was average and the mash potatoes were very average. I did not like the tarragon sauce and I did not like the way they served the fish over the mash potatoes. My wife love the what she had the scollops and veal. She also loved the place.
We had heard good things about Signature and wanted to check it out. We found the setting comfort able and quiet enough for conversation. Jennifer, who waited on us, was knowledgeable without being pushy and made good suggestions. We enjoyed risotto, escargot, scallops and ciappino. Fine attention to detail. This is a good place for a special meal.
My wife and I had dinner at Signature to celebrate her Birthday last weekend. The service was excellent and the food was very good. This was our second time having dinner here and plan to return soon. Cheers to the Signature staff! Job well done. George F. Long
The service, atmosphere and food were exceptional. We ordered the foie gras, crispy pig feet and gold leaf risotto as appetizers and all were delicious. For entries we enjoyed the snapper, lobster pot pie, venison and land and sea. My favorite was the lobster pot pie. The portion was huge and very rich. So much lobster! We had little room for dessert, so we shared the 'kit kat' bar. We really enjoyed the recommended Malbec as well.
I would have given the service an excellent rating but it took too long to get drinks and the wine was not presented properly - no label was presented. Our waiter was a nice guy but hadn't learned timing yet. The food was excellent and we will go again but the desserts are unimaginative - we skipped them.
