Located inside The Blake Hotel, welcome to Siena New Haven... a bridge where Italian tradition meets modern contemporary flare. Antipasti, artisanal crostini, from scratch pasta, and so much more available to you. Our menu features a carefully curated cocktail program and extensive wine list. Siena New Haven is located on the lobby floor. Guests can also visit the High George by Siena - New Haven's premiere rooftop bar, located on the 6th floor and open year round. It is outfitted with a full bar and lighter food options. Both venues are open Tuesday through Saturday. Reservations are recommended, but not required. My girlfriend and I came here for our two year anniversary, and our waitress and the waitstaff were incredibly attentive. Our waters were refilled frequently and the our food and drinks were brought out quickly, despite a nearly full house. We ordered the Sicilian Arancini and Mediterranean Octopus for appetizers and Truffle & Wild Mushroom Tagiatelle and Seafood Brodetto for entrees.

Our meal was good and the service was great however as we were walking out we saw a rat run across the floor. I thought the establishment would want to know. Unfortunately this will deter us from returning.

Our cocktails were very good as were our apps, salad, entrees and wine. Sadly my chopped salad did not come with the salami that it was supposed to have….all the waitress said was she was sorry. More should have been done to rectify this….

My wife and I went here for our five year engagement anniversary. We are big foodies and alls we can say is how impressed we are with the food and service here. The pasta was super fresh and raviolis are just to die for. Definitely coming back!!

Overall unimpressed. Food was average at best, service was friendly, but inexperienced. We probably won’t return to this restaurant. Atmosphere was pretty, but again it is directly in the hotel lobby,unless you sit at table behind a partition.

Our cocktails, appetizers, entrees and wine were great….That was the best branzino I had ever had, kudos to the chef. Also heard the salmon and the squash ravioli were very good. Desserts were a bit odd. We have had a lot of affogatos in many locations and have been good. This one was a bit odd in that the gelato seemed to be off, not bad but almost as if the fat had coagulated once it cooled after the espresso cooled too….it was weird. Our waitress was very good, friendly and attentive but not overburdening. Anyway, we certainly will be back soon to try some different items.

We went to Siena for my husband’s birthday. Everything was perfect from start to finish! We split a Brussels sprout appetizer, which was quite good. I had the pappardelle bolognese, which was amazing. My husband had a truffle pasta special, also amazing. He had the tiramisu for dessert, which was delicious but not as light as the usual tiramisu. The service was warm and attentive. To top it all off, they comped us the dessert because it was my husband’s bday! Needless to say, we will be back.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. It was our Anniversary Dinner and it started good but ended badly. Our waitress basically forgot we existed. Brought us one drink and didn’t see her for about 20 mins. We had a few apps. The grilled octopus was very good. The meatballs were very dense. Didn’t love them. Waited for another drink. Had to find someone to get one. Then brought out our salad with 1 out of 3 dinners. We were with our young daughter. My husband was the only one with food for at a minimum of 15 minutes. The manager came over and said he would get the other meals started. Im not sure why they weren’t started already. We finally get the rest of our food after my husband is done eating. My daughters steak was delicious. I ordered the spaghetti and clams which were not edible. It had absolutely no taste. It was dry and just bad. The Manager was extremely nice and accommodating. Our waitress basically just tapped out. They brought dessert on the house which was very nice. Desserts were average. We love going out to eat but don’t get to do it that often so it stinks when you have a bad experience. I won’t go back.

We had a fabulous evening at the Hotel Blake. It is a very trendy New Haven boutique hotel.. It started with an easy welcoming valet service where we seamlessly transitioned to their awesome roof top bar call the High George. It has a great vibe, feel, and view overlooking the New Haven sky line and Yale University. We were met by happy, pleasant, and engaged staff. Our waitress Destiny was superb with her customer service skills, menu/drink knowledge, and attention to detail. She elevated our experience with her upbeat, engaging personality. The apps and drinks backed up by hip BPM music made the experience world class. We then moved downstairs to Siena, which was just recently opened. We were whisked to our perfectly located table and met by the same type of wait staff experience and engagement. The restaurant/bar was hoping, the service excellent, the apps and food outstanding. Everyone was extremely happy with their meals, the service, and the attention to detail. Our table was frequented by management checking to ensure all was to our liking. The whole experience was stellar and made the evening memorable. Our hats go off to the management, chefs, servers, and all involved in their operation. Well done!!

Our first time here. Sat at a table in the bar area - really nice atmosphere. The waitress was super! A little pricey. Limited menu and the portions were on the small side. Cauliflower appetizer was okay - could have had a little more spice. I ordered the watermelon salad expecting it to be over greens but it was simply three rectangular wedges of watermelon with 4 small mozzarella balls sitting in a dressing. It was very tasty - the mix of spices was very different but it could have used some arugula/lettuce under it. Salmon with zucchini noodles was tasty. Not much different than I could have made at home. My date loved his corn ravioli and the mediterranean salad was a good size and he really enjoyed it. I had cappuccino and he had regular coffee. May give it another try but there are so many other options in New Haven.

We dine at many high end restaurants in NYC, LA, Milan, Dubai, Singapore etc etc and Siena is now going to be on our rotation. For a restaurant that just opened 7 days ago, my compliments to the chef, the staff and Michael the manager. The bar has a nice selection and it is well designed and comfortable to have a pre/post drink. We had the Fritto Misto which was outstanding. Many restaurants overcook and over batter calamari, squid and vegetables instead here it was done to perfection. They were moist, lightly battered, super tenter and perfectly seasoned. The grilled Peach (well we are in season) over Burrata was delicious and not over seasoned - just right where you can taste the Peach and the burrata. Spaghetti alle Vongole were again coocked to perfection - al dente with a slight bite and with little breadcrumbs (exactly how they do it on the Island of Ischia) - the Vongole were definitely high quality as they were sweet and perfectly cooked. Branzino is also another fish that at many restaurants, chefs tend to slightly overcook and it becomes dry - here at Siena it was moist, tender and definitely fresh. Desert was good - Chocolate, hazelnut mousse had a good mousse consistency and not too sweet. Overall highly recommend Siena in New Haven right next to Yale University.

Admittedly, it was the restaurant's opening night so we weren't expecting perfection. That said, the service was certainly both polite and prompt and the food was really, really good. We loved our meals. The only oddity was that it was obvious the executive chef was present along with a couple of extra "suits" and although they stopped and engaged a few of the tables, they didn't engage every table. So, as we watched the "chef and suits" engage the tables to our left and to our right, no one other that the host/hostess ever checked in with us/our table... and there were fewer than 10 tables seated. Why? How tough would it have been for the suits to briefly stop and say, "Hello. Thanks so much for coming to our restaurant opening." Anyway, it's simply an example of what differentiates the good from the great.

Went in for our wedding anniversary around 8 on a summer Saturday night and was surprised how few folks were there. Unfortunately, my wife found a fingernail in her wine. Our server was super empathetic, though I kinda expected them to at least comp the next glass (I forgot to check the receipt so it's possible she did and didn't mention it, though I don't think they did based on our final tab). Perhaps we were avoided after that cause nobody refilled my water until we were asking for the check. While that's gross, it isn't meal-ruining. The burrata and strawberries app was yummy and interesting (more of that great toast would be appreciated though!) But our street corn was somehow bland despite a lot of visuals, maybe could use some char. My wife's mushroom ragu and my burger (slightly over) were both serviceable but unexciting. My fries were good though. Nice ambiance, could see it being really lively and fun with a big open kitchen. But it's also in the hotel lobby so you're getting noise from people hanging out there. Space looks and feels cool. I don't leave a lot of negative reviews, hopefully just an off night.

Great experience. Huge upgrade from prior food options. Everything was 10/10, delicious and innovative. Highlight of the menu were the burrata, braised beef short ribs and duck drumsticks. The ending with the dessert was absolutely perfect, matcha ice cream was soft, creamy and very tasteful, and the mango pannacotta was very fresh and light. Top restaurant in New Haven.

Never again! Restaurant did not update Open Table that it was brunch only as we expected and early dinner according to Open Table for our 3pm reservation. After waiting five minutes for someone to recognize us upon arrival, it got worse. The food was cold, the staff wanted to leave, twice we needed plates at the buffet which was being broken down even though they were still open. Very overpriced as well. Overall bad experience outside of the valet, who was delightful.

The Mother's Day brunch buffet we attended was perfect - the modest size of the buffet was refreshing compared to the giant, unrealistic ones offered at most restaurants, the setting was just right for an intimate meal with family, and the food was delicious!
