Call them on the number once you’ve booked to make sure they’re open. We booked in for 7 and stood outside for half an hour waiting as no one answered the phone at first. Then we tried again and they said they weren’t open and to come back at 8. We went back at 8 and they still weren’t open.

We made a booking for 7pm, their website and google had their opening hours for 7. We get there and wait around 20 minutes (along with three other groups) and they still weren’t open. We called and were advised they don’t open until 8 and it was an issue with their booking. A bit frustrating considering it is advertised they open at 7, we ended up eating else where.

Fabulous drinks, lovely staff, great vibes and excellent music selection. Was a great choice for birthday drinks. We stayed even longer than i was expecting, only left when we did because the ticketed music event was about to start.

Sideway is easily one of my favourite bars in Canberra - great music, solid food, cool fit out, really friendly staff, and a focus on inclusion
