   Today, April 18, we went to the restaurant and we didn't have a very good time. The waiter's service was excellent, but the food wasn't so much. We had to wait almost two hours for dinner, and the restaurant wasn't very full. The food arrived cold and didn't taste that good. Also, without realizing it, they included a super large tip even though the tip is voluntary. So, the reason for this message is to complain. My mother likes the restaurant and doesn't recommend it, but after enjoying it, she doesn't feel like going back.

   Always a fabulous experience. We started with the fig jam/fresh mozzarella/prosciutto/arugula flat bread - perfect blend of flavors and more than enough to take home for a late night snack. Entrees: Sicilia Mia's famous carbonara served table side for one guest and the baked meaty lasagna rossa - a large portion size - with lots of cheese and creamy sauce for the other guest and a small side salad of arugula [light Italian oil vingarette] with cherry tomatoes that we shared. Yes, we saved room to share a tiramisu - made on site - while the server boxed the rest of our leftovers for a light lunch the next day. The wine/beer/beverage list is extensive and per glass and/or per bottle is very reasonable and adds the perfect touch to the perfect meal. We have been dining at Sicilia Mia since they opened many years ago and it just gets better and better - the ambiance, the food, the service - EXCELLENT!

   We were greeted at the door and seated right away. The host even let us pick the table where we want to sit. Since I love to see the chefs cook, we chose to sit at the very back. Our server Claudio ( I hope that’s the right spelling) was very informative and kind. I asked about a dish that wasn’t on the menu (panchetta and burrata pistachio pasta) and Claudio mentioned they have taken it out of the lunch menu. After our disappointment Claudio spoke to the chef and the chef was able to make an exception. We had our favorite pistachio pasta and it was seriously the best I have ever had in my life. (Please don’t ever take it away from the dinner menu :)) We love your staff and your food…and Italy. We feel so lucky to have you here in UT. The chef kindly bid us farewell and we were leaving and we sent our compliments. The chef and Claudio deserve a raise. Grazzie! ☺️

    Sicilia Mia is easily my favorite Italian restaurant in Utah. The relaxed atmosphere reminds of restaurants I visited in southern Italy. I've tried a number of dishes on the menu and they've all been fantastic.
