Having made reservations ahead a time we were expecting a nice Italian dinner out. Instead we were seated at a table directly in front of their dessert display case therefore we had strangers standing over our table the entire hour we were TRYING to dine. Furthermore if strangers weren’t trying to look at the display case, servers stood directly over us staring the entire time. Their two seater tables are WAY too small to accommodate their normal dinner portions and the server was constantly trying to make it work. I seriously wanted to just say “put the whole dinner in a to-go box” so I could get out of there. I definitely won’t be returning. For the price of this restaurant, you can find many Italian restaurants that have excellent food as well as the ambience you deserve.
This place is a must do. Food was great, service was excellent, and it was very authentic.
The spaghetti carbonara was a delicious dinner that comes with a show!
The food is amazing! This was the second time I had been there and it did not disappoint.
Always a wonderful experience. Excellent staff and splendid food.
Fantastic Sicilian dining with authentic flare! This is a must go - and trust me, ANYTHING you get will be amazing. Our favorite is definitely the Carbonara.
We've been meaning to try Sicilia Mia for awhile and finally made it for an anniversary dinner. We were treated very well. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a 5:45 reservation but the restaurant was packed and we had to wait 15-20 minutes. The staff was apologetic and had complimentary bruschetta waiting at our table for us when we sat down, which was so nice of them. They also gave us a complimentary dessert. We loved the food and will definitely be back again to try other thins from the delicious menu.
When we first got there, the radio was quite loud. We were sitting underneath it. Then someone must have turned it down because it was much better. I would just keep it at a minimal level.
Love your food. Love your place. Love your service. We have brought each one of our sons there with their wife/girlfriend. They have all loved it!
Love all your locations!
Great Food, Great atmosphere!
Always incredible service and great food! It is a must! Make sure to try the carbonara!
It was not at all bad. Just not that great. My pasta was quite good. I don't mind spending good money on food, but my dish, the carbonara, was not worth $24. It just wasn't. Service was fine. Restaurant was clean. Food was good, just needs to step up a notch to be worth the price. I probably will not return.
Francesco is the bomb.
Order the family charcuterie! And the pasta carbona!
Food is very good, a little overpriced for pasta. Noodles on seafood pasta was not al dente.
The food was absolutely fantastic and so was the service. Alessandro-our server-paced the meal perfectly and was very attentive. Honestly, it was the best restaurant experience we have had in a long time. I can't wait to go back!
We have been here several times and have always been pleased. This time our server was excellent, as was the soup of the day and both salads. The lasagna and tagliatelle were both very good, as was the mushroom ravioli. The ravioli portion was a bit small (unusual for this restaurant!) and in the clam and pasta dish, tho very tasty, the clams had not been properly scrubbed (very grainy when opening) and 4 clams did not open (which means the clams were dead & inedible!) We told one of the wait staff (not our server) about this and he said he'd pass it on. We expected to hear something from our server or management but nobody responded. Rather disappointing tho we did enjoy our dinner.
Once again we had a great experience at Sicilia Mia. Awesome service and awesome food for a classy lunch!
Absolutely delicious! I haven’t found another Italian restaurant in Utah that compares. Authentic comfort food that would impress any date. We had the spaghetti carbonara and the lasagna... perfection. The only (small) downside was that the starter bread wasn’t quite as delicious by comparison. I also felt a little like I was in the way of waiters trying to get past me often. Otherwise a perfect restaurant.
We loved our experience! I can't remember the last time I had so much fun at a restaurant. The staff is so much fun and they work closely together to provide a fabulous dining experience. It was my Mom's 77th birthday. She doesn't like people to sing to her in restaurants but loved being sung to in Italian!!
The food was delicious. I suggest ordering the Carbonara as they provide entertaining preparation right at the table. There were 4 of us, and we are all excited to return as soon as possible.
Don't let the fact that it is in strip mall fool you. This is a GREAT establishment!
I love Sicilia Mia an infinite amount. The crew treats you like family, the food is phenomenal. If you’re looking for authentic Italian, you’ll find it here!
Excellent service so well as the good.
This restaurant is located in strip mall near a grocery store, but don't let that stop you. The food is outstanding -- authentic, delicious, and sticks to your insides like only the best italian food can. The star of the show, in my opinion, is the carbonara, presented tableside in a large parmesan wheel. The atmosphere is simple, even a bit retro. But if you're only coming here for the ambiance, you're kinda missing the point. Sicilia Mia is only open for a few hours each day. They make what they have on hand and you best not be the last people walking through the door. Cheers.
I was really disappointed in the look of this restaurant. I’d heard so many good things about it since it opened and I was excited to finally be able to check it out.
Walking in, I first thought it was just a small restaurant...which would have been fine with me. But then, after we were seated, we notice the empty bakery (?) cases and the virtual lack of decor. There were a few plants and some pics on the walls but in the area where we were seated, there was hardly anything. It just wasn’t inviting.
We had brought a nice bottle of wine. When the server brought glasses to our table, she apologized that they were mismatched. There were only two of us...you couldn’t find 2 glasses in the restaurant that were the same?
Our dinner was absolutely fabulous. I can’t say enough about the food!
When it came time for dessert, we asked what was available. We were directed to the ugly bakery cases. So, there we were, celebrating our anniversary, very much into our conversation and being with each other and now we have to get up and peer into these horrid cases to choose our dessert. But, we can’t choose because we don’t know what anything is...there were several very beautiful things but I had no idea what anything was because nothing was labelsed. After staring at the case for a few minutes, we had to stop an employee to find out what everything was. In the end we passed on dessert and left immediately because our conversation and good vibe had been thrown off track.
I don’t mind paying more for good food, and I don’t mind paying more for good food in a small, fun place. but I don’t want to pay more for good food in a place with no personality where I have to play “guess what’s under the chocolate” to get a dessert.
Service was okay...not great. They were short-staffed. Of course, that happens. But there was no manager either to check in with the tables. That would have helped.
The food is worth a visit, but don’t expect good ambiance.
Don’t let the strip mall location fool (or deter) you. The ambiance once inside is perfect and the food is divine! High quality and modest prices. Great value. And the spaghetti carbonara is the best we’ve ever had. We will be back!
Amazing service and wonderful food. Easily accommodated a gluten-free option for me. A very intimate and special environment that you wouldn’t except walking up to the place. Definitely need a reservation to dine on a Saturday night. Glad that we had one.
The food was amazing and the service added a great touch to the overall experience.
Best kept secret shhhh
Set a reservation 6 days in advance. Got sat by the bathroom and the dish collection booth. One of the dish collectors almost dropped a plate on my wife’s head. (Anniversary celebration). Our waiter was very professional and polite, however he was spread on both sides of the restaurant. It took a short time to get seated(next to the bathroom with the table behind us hitting my chair since they are back to back.) after being seated we where forgotten about. We had non waiters trying to help as they saw the frustration. I’ve been here 2 times before. The food is EXCELLENT. The service is nice but if you are placed in the wrong area, you are forgotten. When making a reservation 6 days in advance, I don’t expect to be put by the bathroom. On top of that, the location where the busy waiter, forgets to check up on. Took 25 mins to get the check. I don’t leave unpaid checks, this time I questioned doing so from lack of any response.
We loved the place. We have gone several times within the last few weeks and sometimes it does get loud. The food was exceptional and the atmosphere was as if your sitting in a café in Rome. We love it.
The food was incredible. I tried a new wine that I fell in love with and the staff was amazing. I would highly recommend this gem and cannot wait to return.
Absolutely wonderful! Food was delicious and authentic! Would definitely come back and recommend to all my friends.
the feel that i was having authentic food, a great discovery. looking forward to the restaurant at Station Park cause it’s closer to home
Great food, wonderful service. It was a fun experience.
What a Awsome local place. We will be back! Some of he best food I have had!
Love this restaurant! Even though it's a drive from Draper. Food, as always, was spectacular. We were introducing the Sicilua family of restaurants to friends, and found the live music (very good music) was a bit loud to have a conversation, when combined with all the hard surfaces.
There signature Carbonara is always a hit with my family.
I had a steak this visit and it was lack luster. Menu discription was," served on a bed of arugula."
It had an arugula salad on top of the steak. I thought that was a little weird. Not the best quality of rib eye steak either, which for $28, I felt was a let down. Service was a little to casual for a $300.00 dinner for 5.
Handing people their plates from across the table and so on. All in all I like the place and will go back, but they could polish things up a bit.
I had heard amazing reviews of this place so we went for our anniversary. Our waiter was not friendly or helpful whatsoever. We didn't get their signature dish so maybe that's why but the food was horrible. Any pasta place would have been better than this place. The bread tasted old and stale. My husband got the lasagna and said it was ok but not worth every going back. We were extremely disappointed especially for the price.
Hadn’t been there for a while and had forgotten how good the food is.
This is an interesting place. The food is outstanding and not following the small plate and tiny portion trend around the country. However, the filet in the filet appetizer is not cooked, only marinated, according to the server, and my wife and I both got sick after eating it. It's the only thing we shared (besides bread). Her lamb and my ahi tuna were perfectly prepared and delicious. The servers are very attentive, and they give the non-Italians Italian names! The atmosphere is OK, a mix of kitschy Italian and sterile ceilings that you'd see in an office building. It's pricey and the strip mall location does nothing to add to the experience, but the food is worth it. Aside from the filet appetizer, anyway.
The service and staff were friendly and attentive. My wife having been there before knew that the portions were substantial so we decided to split several dishes. The appetizer, arugula and cream cheese wrapped in Italian ham with a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic was outstanding. The ceaser salad was ok, the spaghetti carbonara made in a wheel of Parmesan seems too be their specialty was a little salty for my taste, but was well done. Next was a trio of good sized lamb chops with a red wine reduction and mashed potatoes, while the chops were a little overdone for my taste I have to admit that I did not specify that they should be rare. While we requested dishes be brought in courses, the appetizer and salad were served together as were the carbonara and lamb chops. Next time we will be more specific. We will return.
