Established in 1989, Shula's Steak House started with one goal in mind - to carry on the legacy of Coach Don Shula, one of the greatest coaches in NFL history. 30 years later, we've taken that goal and run with it. We're proud to offer the highest quality steaks, fresh-caught seafood, and tantalizing sides.

When Coach Don Shula opened the first Shula's Steak House in 1989, he took his winning formula to a whole new level. He wanted to provide the highest quality steaks in a warm, inviting setting. Steak overdone by a lot. Over one hour wait for our food. Understaffed.

Our server was knowledgeable but the food was way over salted. There were 6 of of dining and four thought their food was too salty. One person loved salt and thought their food was fine. I asked if they could redo the scallops as, in my opinion, they were inedible, and was told there is a new chef and they would not reduce the salt even at my request. Based on that, I’ll not go back there.

We have been to this establishment in the past and returned because of the great experience we had previously for our sr. executive group. it is a quiet place for us to be able to enjoy a meal and allow us to have a discussion. Unfortunately, this time was a huge miss. 4 of our group of 12 had to have their meals returned to the chef for overcooked steaks. 3 of those had to return it a second time and were not able to finish their dinners. Very disappointed, especially given the price of meals.

Best place to dine in Gainesville! Our server, Mariah, was engaging and attentive. Good recommendations and good pace of service. Steak was cooked perfectly. Sea bass and Scallops ware also a can’t miss. Nice selection of wines by the glass with generous pours. 7 layer chocolate cake was delicious. We will return!

The food here is magnificent. My husband and I each had the NY strip steak and it was cooked perfectly and soooooo flavorful. The baked potato was as big as his head and the sauteed spinach was so delicious. Our waiter was a lovely young man, very professional and courteous. Ben, the manager, is an absolutely wonderful guy. He makes us feel like family when we dine there.
