Great VIP experience. Food was amazing. Entertainment was a blast. Host/Chef was so welcoming. Highly recommend.
What an awesome experience! Know you are in the right place, and will be greeted at the door at ticket time. Wonderful atmosphere, authentic experience and delicious food. Totally a must-do while in New Orleans.
Would have been nice to have been told where to go when we arrived. We were standing outside in the pouring rain and the restaurant looked closed. No one told us it was upstairs in the side door with no note on it to tell us where to go! It took away from the experience a bit.
The food is outstanding and there is plenty of it. The musician they had that night was spectacular. My only complaint is that it is incredibly expensive. I paid a total of around $90 and still had to bring my own drinks. If it wasn't so costly I would be inclined to go much more often.
We had a blast at the shrimp boil and the food was awesome. Friendly and authentic, like being at a friends house for a special meal.
We signed up for the special shrimp boil on a Friday night. It was fun that the doors didn’t open until exactly 7pm. The host then took us upstairs where the shrimp boil was already being prepped. The evening started with a description of the night’s menu. He explained about the shrimp selection and the entertainment.
We started with a sample of alligator sausage which was pretty tasty. Then we had a simple biscuit which I would have liked more of. Then the shrimp with corn on the cob and sausage was brought out and literally dumped on the table. It was piping hot and well cooked. The corn was a little over cooked but there was plenty of shrimp to make up for it. I was surprised there were no potatoes in it. We had a nice pumpkin king cake for dessert. The entertainment was a singer with a “big voice” who played during dinner.
The meal was good but not great and it was very expensive given some of the other meals I had while visiting the crescent city. It is BYOB which can be a real draw for some peopIn my opinion, you can do better for the price somewhere else.
Outstanding!! Terrific meal, very well organized and delicious food. Doesn't get any better for a true experience in New Orleans
This is by far the best kept hidden jewel in NOLA. The educational cooking lesson, the variety of ingredients, tasty food and atmosphere make this a truly enjoyable experience. Mr Gregory was so entertaining and the singer provided a great dining atmosphere.
You need to sign up for this! Small group, great food and a very welcoming staff. We spent the last 4 days eating at all of the recommended places in the French Quarter, and this is one of the best experiences. This was worth every penny!
We had a ball at Mr. Gregory's. Friendly, knowledgeable and passionate staff made us feel welcome. The food was simple, delicious and plentiful. Perfectly cooked shrimp and fixins. Great surroundings - the private upstairs room makes you feel like you are in on a secret. The entertainment was perfect! We will definitely do this again next time we are in NOLA.
Disappointing. Place holds 40 and there were 12 there. For $65 whole experience done in 1 hr and 15 mins. I can see it being fun but price is comparable to some of the best in the city. This is not it
Mister Gregory's Shrimp Boil provided a one-of-a-kind dining experience for our group. The food was amazing. We ended up having the top floor to ourselves which looks out at Louis Armstrong Park. Pretty awesome spot. They even brought in a local performer to sing a few songs for us. Couldn't recommend this place enough.
I really enjoyed the experience!!I will definately go again I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere!
Quality ingredients well prepared to create an extraordinary dining experience. Attentive staff, unique venue and entertainment enhanced the ambiance.
This meal was amazing. The door opens at 7 so be there a little beforehand. You walk in and go straight up a flight of stairs into a dining room and right out to the balcony. On the balcony the server will come straight to you to get your drink order. There are multiple tables to stand around and seating. You are then informed of the shrimp, where it came from, the food seasonings, how it’s prepared, etc. After mingling you are welcomed back into the dining room. For the appetizers we had blue crab topped potato salad, seasoned french bread, country salad with kale (cole slaw) and grilled alligator. For the boil itself you had corn, sausage, and shrimp. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. I wish it could have more spice seasoning but I understand that spice preferences differ per person and it’s not one size fits all. For dessert bread pudding with whipped cream and caramel sauce was served. For sauces they had 2 types on the table along with a bottle of hot sauce. A wonderful woman was singing for the live entertainment and she had such a beautiful voice that created a very classic calming ambiance. A carafe of water and cups are provided. It’s BYOB. Or go to one of the bars on either side of it. It is community table sitting to be able to mingle around your meal. The host and staff were very engaging, personable, and courteous. Thy made sure you were 100% happy and more! I would recommend and would come back in the future.
This was a great find. My four sisters and I dined there and loved the experience. The staff was great - the chef was engaging, the entertainment was first class and the food was delicious and creative. It is a fun experience and worthy of consideration when visiting New Orleans.
Great authentic feeling shrimp boil! Friendly staff and the food was delicious, with a smaller group setting the vibe was personal and positive.
What a rip-off! We were the only people there who didn’t have a groupon, and full price was way over-priced. Don’t bother.
Awesome experience. Great food. Would recommend 100%
Mr gregorys boil was alotta fun. People talk and its a nice friendly enviroment. Loke a shrimp boils supossed to be. I will be back.
you really feel like you are with friends in your living room. The food is amazing and all around great experience unique to New Orleans.
Not a fan of drag queen singing but he was as good as any...
Went for the food and not disappointed.
A true hidden gem. At 7:00 all the guests arrive, only 20 or so people, and Mr. Gregory explains the sourcing of the shrimp and how the dinner itself will go. Everyone sits down in picnic-style tables and shortly thereafter dinner begins! There was a salad waiting for us when we sat down but the real treat is of course the shrimp. It is dumped straight on to the newspaper covered tables and from there it's first come first serve, but even so there were some leftover - you will not want for shrimp! We finished with an excellent dessert and left VERY full and feeling like we found a one of a kind place. Will definitely visit again and recommend often!
Such a great experience, wonderful food, a great find in NOLA!
This was one of the best parts of our visit to NOLA. We’d never tried a shrimp boil before, and it was everything we hoped and more!
Tourist Trap, they should be ashamed for how much this cost.
Shrimp boil was a great time! Food was delicious, ambiance great, and met some new friends! Would definitely recommend!
Great food, byob, had an excellent time speaking with out hosts and other guests!
Mister Gregory has an awesome little set up here. Very relaxed atmosphere and he explains everything about the food he serves and gives history into the shrimp he prepares. Very cool place and he has an entertainer for music. Will definately go again! Mister Gregory is a really nice guy!
Came to New Orleans from Chicago for a visit and found this while planning our trip. We booked our dinner through Groupon and what a great experience! The shrimp boil was delicious! So happy we stumbled upon this. Everyone shares large picnic like tables & we even enjoyed some live music. What a great experience. We went as a group of 4 and loved it.
We were treated like Rockstar’s! The Shrimp Boil was the best I’ve had. Can’t wait to go back!
Gregory and his staff went above and beyond. If in NOLA it is a must. You won’t leave hungry. Also his desert was out of this world.
The shrimp boil was fantastic. They cooked up the biggest fresh shrimp I’ve ever seen. All the sides and dessert were tasty as well. We loved the family style atmosphere. We got to know the locals and have great conversations. It was a great introduction to New Orleans. Mister Gregory’s offers a Groupon discount making it an even better value. A NOLA must do.
Terrific atmosphere and lots of good food. Come hungry.
The food was good I just didn’t like the way the tables are set up You are not able to really in joy your dinner with your loved one.
Fun night. Novel. Great if shrimp is your thing. The tables are shared wth 5 others, and are only comfortible for the person in the middle seat, away from the legs. Not the place to go if you want a table to yourself or a leisurely dinner.
I am not sure what I expected. This is not a restaurant but more like the dining room of a private home. The food was generous in portions. Typical shrimp boil food. Have to bring your own booze, serve only water. Dessert was a disappointment. Very pricey for what we got. Not sure the price was disclosed on the website. With gratuity included, averaged 80.00 a person.
Great food Great service. Did not care for drag queen for entertainment. Not kid friendly. Very loud hard to talk.
Definitly not worth the money
