Wanted to try something new and in this area. We weren’t impressed really. They definitely don’t have enough staff. The drink menu was just ok. Five or six cocktail options. The food menu was interesting but they were out of a lot of things so we both ended up having to change all or part of our order to accommodate what they were out of. The food was just ok. If you are staying in the hotel and this is your only option it’s probably fine. I wouldn’t waste my time to drive over here again.

The restaurant was attractive . Very few people - only a few sitting at the bar. We found out after ordering a drink that at almost 2 pm they were only serving breakfast . The breakfast menu was not very exciting . We paid for our drink and left . It was a major disappointment.

Just missed the mark. It was super slow, no real vibe. The food was just not quite right. Portions were off, and the flavor was on the bland side. Our server was great and the decor was lovely.

The restaurant was fairly empty at the time that we dine there. The staff was fantastic and the food was good for the price Great location on the river to go and check out the Berkeley Riverfront Plaza. The restaurant is attached to the hotel, but didn’t detract from visiting. Looking forward to the beer garden opening!

Short on staff host was also our server and bar man. congenial and apologized. two in party attending for Birthday Food just ok. server asked if we needed salt and pepper, but we never got- so we had to find him and ask again. no jam or butter for toast. all in all not a good celebration. Waited a while to get bar drinks, no water refil or coffee refill either. will not be back. Hotel lovely, bet guests were not pleased to eat meals there. I know it might be slow on a Sunday morn, but hotel should not be open for breakfast and maybe just have to go breskfast snacks and coffee included in room rate.

Show Pony is a new hidden gem in KC! Chef Olson previously worked for the American. Starting with the basics, reservations were easy to get because the restaurant is new. Parking is a few steps away in the up and coming river front area, the space is beautifully decorated, and it is very quiet! The drink menu has a handful of craft cocktails and some well curated wines. The food is beautifully done! The menu is short and none of the dishes appealed to me at first glance; however, I was amazed. The server suggested sharing both the small plates and large plates and I am so glad we did! The cheese ring was Devine and hearty. A very unique dish that I could have eaten all night. The panzella salad had wonderful flavor and texture. The crown chicken was a chicken coated with a light sausage sitting on the most amazing pumpkin risotto. The pork cheek was tasty with an impressive stuffed apple and my favorite was the chickpea gnocchi. We topped off the night with their light homemade gelatos and chocolate ganache. We are ready to go back again tonight!
