Shorty's Steakhouse is a unique dining experience. Established more than 20 years ago, along the historic Randolph Street in downtown Garrett, Indiana. Shorty's Executive Head Chef James Morrow has created & curated our menu over 10 years, carefully straddling the line of fine steakhouse dining, with small-town Indiana fare.

We are located in Garrett, Indiana, 10 minutes from the historic Auburn downtown and the ACD museum. Also, 20 minutes north of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 15 minutes from Kendallville, Indiana and 25 minutes south of Angola, Indiana. We love that we bring all these communities together at Shorty's.

Shorty's is proud to offer bar seating, family room seating and an outdoor patio we completed last year.
We are laid-back and believe our guests' enjoy the incredible service & food without having to "dress-up".
We embrace the great and growing community of Garrett, Indiana and love that we can share amazing cuisine in an unexpected location.

The food was delicious. The challenge was that the service level did not align with having drinks served timely manner along with the start of the meal. Additionally, two of the menu items ended up not being available, along with one of the drink options.

We have visited Shorty’s several times but this was the first time we were in the room with the standard tables. It was very loud and crowded as it was Saturday night and they had a full house. I will ask for a high top the next time we go. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been kinder! We will definitely go back.

We were a party of four. Was greet and seated very quickly. We did have reservations. Waitress responded very quickly to our table and did a awesome job. She was very friendly and professional. She kept our drink glasses filled and checked back at the table after our meals were served. We had 2 chop steak meals, 1 liver and oinons meal, and a Cheeseburger and they were very good . we were all very happy with our food . The waitress kept the table clear and asked if desserts were needed. Couldn't have asked for a better service. Food was delicious. Awesome place. will be back. It was our first visit.

Apparently Salvatori's group purchased this once amazing steak house. Salvatoris Group seems to have a tendency to eliminate items deemed too expensive, but its these items that make the restaurant what it was. No longer using real wasabi with the tuna...so disappointing. Although prime rib was offered for an entree, the kitchen said they did not have the prime rib available for the prime rib flat bread. It was so loud in there that we could not hear each other at our table. For these prices, I will find an alternative dining experience. One not owned by Salvatoris Group. Why is Salvatoris Group buying all the local eateries and making them lesser versions of what they were? On the positive side, the waitress was great.

First and foremost GREAT SERVICE! The staff is fabulous, the food is outstanding. It is always very loud and difficult to have a conversation. We still bite the bullet and try to visit once or twice a year because the service and food are amazing.

They have the best food and the best wait staff I’ve ever experienced. Nice atmosphere and so mellow in there you can carry on a nice dinner conversation! Will be back!!!

I love this place. Second time there just as sweet as the first. The ambiance, food, and staff are all stellar. I am definitely going back to taste more of the menu (and drinks)! We have tried the appetizers, steaks, seafood, and pasta, and the beverages and desserts as well. I cannot complain about one thing and only have positive things to say about them all. Highly recommended.
