As with any new restaurant, lots of kinks to work out including the hostess. Inept. Overwhelmed. We had reservations and asked for the rooftop. Not only were the menus not ready, when they came they gave us the rooftop menu. Hint: because I had to flag down someone above her to ask because she was so overwhelmed, you are able to have full menu if seated at a table. (I was going to ask to move inside if not possible).
I shouldn’t be standing at the hostess desk for 15 minutes after being seated and not acknowledged.
Food is typical of LEYE restaurants. Good. Good value. Great ambience especially if you love construction noise. Once Fulton Market gets built, this place will still be the spot. Perfect t grown up happy hour spot.
Madison was an awesome server!!
Great location and concept right on the beach! Food and drinks are a bit expressive, but it’s a unique venue so worth it.
It was a great place for a glass of wine and salad/appetizer. It was early evening and not too crowded and it looks like a fun evening with larger crowds as well.
This place is gorgeous and the food is amazing. You have to try the chicken sliders and the burrata! So good. The drinks are beautiful and photo worthy. I will for sure be back soon!
What is not to love about Shore Club Chicago! It is an instagrammer’s dream with its beautiful aesthetic and TASTY frozen cocktails! Must try the fried chicken sliders and Elote Cobb salad, along with a Chicago Vice!
Perfect scene for large groups!
I was surprised to see such an established venue right on the beach. Beautiful place and amazing food! 10/10 would recommend for a place to visit that it “out of the ordinary”.
Having this by the beach is great. Very good drinks. On hot days, don’t expect to be cooler inside, it’s just as hot. They do have fans but they run very very slow. The food is nothing special but good, regardless! I had the Club Sandwich and it’s huge! Highly recommend it. The only bad thing I encountered during my visit was - when I made the reservation for a Wednesday morning, they said it was for brunch, I get there and they inform me they only have brunch on weekends...
We came on memorial day, a very busy and hot day. Despite of the business, service was awesome! Kudos to the servers who worked hard. Drink prices are a little too much. I understand because of the view but they need to step up on the quality of the drinks if they want to charge more.
Expected more based on their pics online. Overpriced for the portion & quality of the food.
Excellent food and service. The view of the lake is unmatched. I'll go back!
Honestly I was INCREDIBLY disappointed with the service. Not only did they tell us an hour wait, there were TONS of open tables that we saw never get used while we waited! Once the hostess finally sat us, far away from the window, we asked to move to one of the open ones up front. She claimed they were reserved and said so in a very condescending manner. So we stayed where we were. After having our $15 cocktails and $21 salads, we noticed not a soul ever sat down at those tables! Very over priced, mediocre food, very small cocktails...over all, not great at all.
This is the place to go for one over priced drink and then go somewhere else for dinner. Absurd prices for measily portions, $19 for three TINY and I am talking tiny fish tacos, one bite and gone. The drinks are over priced and do not expect value here. It’s a place I’d imagine slash recommend getting one drink and then hopping. The service sucked, slow, not attentive and at the end the guy brought someone else’s credit card along with our bill we had to flag him down, he’d given our credit card to another table! I don’t see this place as being somewhere people return and likely would make the most of their money on renting it out for events. One and done.
We visited on the Sunday before Memorial Day which was jam packed so it was very noisy. Despite that, it was a fun dinner and the food was good - service was so much better than we expected. All the servers are very attentive and do a great job. We will visit again (at a time when it's not so crowded!).
Fun place to drink on the beach, food wasnt great and service was slow. Liked the decor snd would recommend for day drinking on the beach but not dining.
We had a reservation and upon arrival we were passed to 3 different waitresses, none of which communicated to one another that they needed to clear a table. So she had us stand aimlessly in the middle of the restaurant while she cleaned a table, then proceeded to seat someone else at that table. We ended up getting a dirty table by the hostess stand (not a table you would expect with a reservation.) We sat for about 10 minutes before getting asked if we wanted to order drinks. At that point it was 12:25 and we tried to order lunch. Our waitress said we aren’t allowed to order lunch until 12:30, we would have to get brunch. You would assume that an experienced waitress would say “of course, let me get your order and I’ll wait to put it in until 12:30.” Nope, she didn’t seem to want to go out of her way to help at all. So we ordered brunch. Wait time was pretty lengthy and food was average. Overall would not recommend. Wait staff is young and unprofessional (I’m saying this as a 24 year old). Multiple times we asked or waitress basic questions about the restaurant and patio, for future reference, she would leave to go ask a coworker.. and never come back with an answer. Also had to ask for replacement silverware 3 times because each were still dirty.
My family and friends enjoys the great experience dining near the lake shore.
I have one complaint though, can you please have clean portable toilets? It was really a turn off to see bathroom’s that are disgusting by a beautiful place.
Please improve your bathroom utility.
Web site promised lively buffet Sunday brunch. When we arrived, the hostess barely acknowledged our presence. Than she told us buffet brunch was no longer offered. After the food was brought to the table, we were not able to find the server to get more water or coffee refill until it was time to bring the check. The restaurant was deserted. There was no ambience, the food was very average and the service unacceptable. We will not be back.
Ita a beach type spot. Food ok.
I thought this place would be a lot more luxurious based on their postings on social media. I expected to see European style restaurant on the beach which would be an amazing place to hang out all summer. Well, it was a beach cafe, and the food was awful ( breakfast). Service was very slow. The idea is great but execution is weak.
A very disappointing evening.
Service was horrible. Drinks took forever, one appetizer came after we were served our main course, wine came after we finished our main course, music was awful and they over-charged us by 13% (though it was eventually reimbursed). The food was no better; not one of our meals was even good. The wine list is deplorable, though the house cocktail is nice. None of this is worthy of the beach setting; though we probably would have had a better meal at Castaways in the North Ave beach house, for much less money and hassle.
This seasonal place should stay closed after the season ends, unless they can get their act together. Sad for such a nice location.
Very very bad service. Hair in drink. Over cooked eggs Benedict both times we sent it back. Had to get up and get our waitress twice.
Beautiful place, they just need to get their kitchen and service together.
Took 30 minutes to get an overpriced appetizer. The drinks were not good..
Great food and even better views! Perfect location for a lunch on a beautiful day in Chicago.
Horrible service from the host stand/start to finish. Food & drinks was over priced for no reason.
Great location but the food was just about average and overpriced.
I went here for an anniversary dinner. The ambiance is Jersey Shore meets Miami Beach, and I really wanted it to work. The food was fine, I especially liked the burrata appetizer and my husband liked the lobster tacos. The beef filet sandwiches were just okay. We got a great table with a front-row view of the lakefront path and beach, for good people-watching. We rode bikes here and the management kindly allowed us to keep them inside the restaurant area on the patio. Other than bike I don't know how people will get here. Our server was kind but soft-spoken and it was very loud inside. I really want this restaurant to be successful. Just needs a few tweaks.
Food was good, and location was great but the music was crazy loud. It's like being in a nightclub, but you are trying to eat a meal and talk with friends and you can't, and the kind of music they are playing is thumping club music which is a disconnect. I understand they are trying to capture a young, fun audience but lunch time on a Wednesday is not the same audience at a night club... Nor is it on a Friday night for dinner. Play good music, not club music and don't play it so crazy loud!!
Great to have a restaurant right on the beach with upper-class good food.
Glad we finally have a cool restaurant/bar on North Ave Beach. (No offense, Castaways ;) The frosé is fabulous! Beet paté is surprisingly good; lobster tacos are also delish. The poké tuna is just okay; it needs to be cut into smaller pieces.
Nice for a chill day at the lake, worth checking out just to see it for yourself since Chicago isn't known for it's lakefront dinning.
Had the avocado toast for an appetizer and didn't really care for it. Was somewhat bland
The egg and stake to me was horrible and tasted like sour/bitter liver, but my sister totally disagreed, and ate it all. She thought it was "ok, eatable."
I had the Thai Chicken Lettuce wrap, which was just okay. Rhe lettuce wasn't as crispy and crunchy as I like, but rather limp and not wide enough to hold the Ingredients in. I've had and made better lettuce wraps.
Overall, I'd recommend it since it's worth checking out just for the experience, but wouldn't go back or say it's a must try!
Visiting a friend in Chicago and she heard about it so we tried it... awesome place, didn't feel like I was in city but on a island... moved to the cabana and just relaxed ... server was great , wish I could remember her name
Great view, creative menu that still needs work, especially on execution. Hopefully, it will be really great by next year summer!
Food was good, service and prices were less than desirable
I have always loved octopus and have had it all over the World.... the grilled baby octopus was by FAR the best I have EVER had (and that's saying something)! Highly recommended! Also we got the fresh burrata cheese and it didn't disappoint. Planning on going back soon and getting in at least a couple more visits this season.
I was so happy to see so many menu items I could have on my diet- enjoyed the Thai Chicken lettuce wraps! I didn't have a drink this time but will in the future, the staff was very nice and I felt at home and relaxed.
The view was wonderful. The service, the food and the music were the not enjoyable. Especially the service.
I had no idea this place existed and was SO happy to find it! I had the strawberry macaroon salad which is like a meal and dessert in one and is to die for! Also, it was incredibly filling after my run but still fit in my diet. There are so many menu items I can't wait to try, will be going back soon and taking friends! There is no other lakefront place like this hands down.... can't wait to put on my sweatshirt and go to the beach in October for dinner as well- the host said they're open till November 1st and again on May 1st.
Made reservation for 7pm, showed up and it was closed....
