Undercooked ravioli. Pasta too thick and no filling. Veal sausage was excellent; sublime. Presentation of ramps subpar. Cut the roots off and don’t kill them. We were expecting excellence and experienced expensive mediocrity.

The waitress was attentive to our needs, offered us a complimentary celebratory drink on her, and knowledgeable of the food selections. The steak had NO flavor! Very disappointing. The Maitre D hesitantly came to our table to inquire of our satisfaction, I almost questioned IF he was going to come after skipping our table. For the cost, the portion of shareable was not a value. Years ago I visited this restaurant and the food was worth every penny, not so much this time. A bit disappointed 😞. Our waitress was good.

Cute place and we had a good waitress but our meals were underwhelming for what we paid. Extremely fatty rack of lamb and dry chicken with flavorless potatoes. Had high hopes for this place based on prior reviews but we would not come back nor recommend.

Fantastic atmosphere, food and service. Caressa was professional, engaging and kind. The chef stopped by the table and was very informative. Quite talented. We had a great anniversary dinner. Reservation process was seamless.

Our meal was delicious. Our service was good until we were informed that they were short staffed and were closing down. We were rushed through dessert - actually not offered dessert, and we had to ask. My assumption was that we would quickly close out and leave. But we were there for a graduation celebration and wanted to enjoy. My receipt is stamped 9:07 p.m. on a Saturday evening - not terribly late. This treatment was very disappointing, given the price point and reputation of Shoemaker's. When we left, interestingly, there were two other tables of guests who didn't seem rushed out like we were.

Crab cakes, salmon, scallops and brussel sprouts were delicious. We had crème brûlée, apple crumble and chocolate mousse for dessert and all were excellent. Our server Jasmine was delightful. Took two hours but we were not in a hurry. Very nice evening.

The ambience was perfect for the environment; was kind of startled with the air conditioning coming on that particular day as it was not hot enough outside nor inside the restaurant for that cool air to be blowing.

The food is ridiculously expensive for the quality. Chicken was dry and flavorless, cocktail tasted like water, Salmon wasn't anything we couldn't make at home. We spent $150 for decent potatoes and grits. Everything else was mediocre. It wasn't crowded, yet the wait for food was long and service slow. The waiter was awkward and only addressed my wife.

Understaffed. Overpriced and underwhelming Caesar Salad. Fantastic Entree. Terrible dessert. Overpriced. Less options than prior visits. We've been eating at Shoemaker's since it first opened and have witnessed the many revisions it has undergone through it's life. We understand the struggles that restaurants are facing with personnel but were disappointed in how slow the service was. For years, this was one of our first choices for celebrating something special. Showmaker's has slid down the line now after our last experience. When a couple spends $125.00 to go out to dinner, the experience needs to be great. I know they can do better.

Seated on time for 6:30 reservation. Ordered promptly and waited 55 mins before our dinner was served. The place was not busy. Our server was fine. The food was just ok. Not sure what happened to this place. Last visit was a while ago and was good. But, now it’s a great place to go if you’re not hungry and want to pay a premium.

Amazing service! Rib eye steak was a poor quality cut and not just over cooked, it was burned. Wait staff was kind enough to remove it from my bill. I would give it another shot based on how good the rest of the experience was.

This is the nicest restaurant in Lynchburg and located in the Craddock Terry hotel where we stayed. The atmosphere was very pleasant in a beautifully converted old factory with exposed beams and brick. My review would have been higher but for dinner for two with a couple of drinks and no appetizer costing $170 before tip, I expected perfection. My martini with a twist came out with olives and my wife's Jack and ginger with easy ice came out slammed with ice and small pour. Then came the wedge salad that she ordered with the blue cheese on the side which came out with blue cheese right on top. Not a problem, she just scrapped it off. What was crazy was her sea bass came with a serving of blue cheese on the side. My ribeye stake was excellent.
