I had an absolutely incredible experience. SHIA is 100% worth it. I will be going back. The food was exceptional. I’m not a huge shellfish person, but I ate everything on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The service was impeccable. Everyone was so pleasant. My partner and I felt so comfortable and relaxed, and we left full and happy. My partner ordered the additional Korean beverage accompaniment, and says each beverage changed with the flavor of the dish being presented. We were very, very impressed, but also don’t expect anything less of the incredible Chef Edward Lee.

From cocktails to every course it was a delight to my senses. The water kimchee brought me right to my Mom’s cooking. Thank you for the amazing 5 course dinner.

One big comment is the serving size of the kimchi that came with our duck dish. We only received one kimchi side dish for three different headcount which was a bit disappointing given that we each received a bowl of rice.

overall it was decent, but probably wouldn’t look forward to doing it again. the experience might be completely different in the dining room, so who knows! we sat at the bar for the $90 pp lounge experience. my most favorite parts about the dinner were the drinks & the dessert. they were really the only things that made me say wow. the food, although good, seemed cold? and just wasn’t anything extraordinary and i’m not sure if that has anything to do with us being in the completely separate room with the bar. the pace was quick, we weren’t there for even an hour. i would’ve liked to have another drink, but once the courses were finished, it didn’t really feel like i could? so choosing to celebrate my birthday there was kind of lackluster and i definitely expected more. i ended up being glad we didn’t do the 7 course option because i’m not sure if it would have been worth it :/

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. While I’m glad the drinks and dessert stood out, I’m truly sorry the experience didn’t feel as special as we’d hoped for your birthday. You’re right that the dining room offers a slower pace and deeper connection through the courses. I’d love to invite you back to experience that and apply what you’ve already spent as a credit toward it. Thank you again for celebrating with us—I hope we have the chance to make this right.
