Fantastic expensive from start to finish; great hospitality and amazing food. They even made it a special occasion for us since it was our last big meal before the baby was born.

An UH-mazing experience from start to finish! We were blown away by the warm, welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability and research, and the fact that it’s a non-profit—how cool is that? But the real star? The food. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the hospitality made us feel like we were dining in a friend’s home… if that friend just happened to be a Michelin-starred chef. Run, don’t walk, to SHIA—and bring your mom, your neighbor, your mom’s neighbor, and your neighbor’s mom too. Trust us, they’ll thank you. 👏🍽️✨

Wow I wish I could give a 10/10 for this place. The only thing was the entrance sign was really discrete so we walked past it, but eventually saw the door. There's street parking as well as a few garages nearby and the restaurant lets you know there's free parking for 3 hours somewhere. The restaurant was cozy with few seating in the main area with open kitchen. At first the noise level was decent but then it became harder to hear since more people came in. The service was really attentive of my shellfish allergies and overall great at managing when dishes came out and grabbing plates and refills. The restroom door blends into the wall, but they show you where it is. Lighting was nice and music wasn't too loud. The food was beyond delicious that I'd come back here again just to eat more. Every dish left me wanting more which doesn't happen often. It was well proportioned out that we were worried we'd be too full to finish. Only struggle was the choice of bowl for the soup, it was sometimes hard to get the soup out although probably just for the flavor.

All of the dishes were quite good - but we really enjoyed the pork belly, sea bass, and duck. The surprise dessert was quite lovely. The staff was super knowledgeable and personable. Thank you so much for helping us celebrate.

From the moment you walk in you are catered to and taken care of the moment you walk out. The dinner was phenomenal. Can't even put the words to describe it. The only thing I would have liked is for the portions just to be a tad more. We did the 7 course and every bite was sensational. It made you crave more from each course. We will definitely come here again.

Black sesame entree and dessert was most memorable and best balanced. Other dishes felt rather more on the acidic end. As a Korean, I was so shocked at how sour the kimchi banchan was. Out of all the kimchi I ate in my 30 years of life, it was the most sour kimchi ever. Too sour to eat with rice or anything to be honest. The service was great tho.

Very pleasant experience at SHIA. The 5-course tasting menu is very satisfying. Even with familiar tasting profiles, each dishes is unique and doesn’t resemble anything I had before (especially the main course). Staff are all very helpful and patient with questions. The menu is changing seasonally so I’m excited to come back and experience new menu next time!
