obviously a great setting...brunch was nice, but for the overall cost of the buffet it's really quite high..
Excellent! Lovely environment. Excellent service. I wish I had had more time to explore the resort and I look forward to returning very soon. I highly recommend. Parking can be a challenge though.
Steak wasn’t prepared as requested, wasn’t as good as would be expected for the price. Pretty pace though.
The setting is beautiful. Food was very expensive and very mediocre. Server was a bit arrogant.
Good outside dining at Del
Had an order of bad oysters
Good crab cake
So so NY Strip - not good enough for price
Mushrooms of good quality but no spice/flavor added
Good service overall
Wouldn’t recommend - maybe just get app and drink for location
Great service, beautiful setting.
Our server was new, and in training. I thought he did a very good job of explaining the various dishes and made some solid recommendations. There was a lull between courses but were told it was due to someone in our party ordering the chicken pie. That made sense. Overall it was a great dining experience.
Food is OK to good. The view was absolutely perfect. The service was terrible. It is clear to me the wait staff does not feel the need to provide good customer service because they know people will just show up. It was a bummer because we are on vacation and it poor experience. I would NOT recommend this place! They need to step up their game.
We had brunch....the view is worth a million dollars....the brunch not so much.
Sunday brunch is great, but the food on Monday and Tuesday was poor.
We loved the location of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and our waiters were wonderful.
Great! Cane here years ago with friends, they were dying to come back during their recent visit and we loved it again!
Excellent food and Server Cody was great. Thank you
The food is very good but it’s expensive as you are paying for a beautiful setting at the Hotel Del Coronado.
I reserved a table for my friend of over 30 years birthday. We drove for over 2 hours to come and celebrate her and our friendship. I had high hopes the time and money would be worth it. From the Valet parking to the ambiance to the food and service we were not disappointed in any way. This was an event we will savor in our memories forever. Thank you Sheerwater and Hotel Del staff!
This was one of the finest dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food, the ambience, and the service weee all first-rate. It was expensive, but memorable and worth it.
Though we missed Gary, Kecisa was wonderfully pleasant and just great!
A wonderful experience, beautiful view, delicious food and great service. It was a bit pricey.
Our server, Rey Rey rushed us through the ordering process. He doesn’t have much of a personality and he was not smiling at all. It seemed like he was just trying to turn tables as fast as he could on a slow Monday lunch. We ordered an appetizer which we never received and were charged for it. The cost of the meal is to be expected when you’re at a historical resort restaurant. I would hope that management would spend more time training their servers to be more personable. I will not be returning.
My order came out wrong first time which was disappointing.
The food was good but I felt that the presentation I have come to expect was missing.
Beautiful outdoor restaurant with a spectacular view of the blue blue ocean. Service was attentive and the brunch menu extensive. So comfortable!
Delicious food, nice view of the ocean, excellent service..will definitely come back!
Server Rey is superb!
Veggie eggs Benedict was out of this world, and the pesto hollandaise sauce put it over the top! We loved dining with an ocean view.
Bad service and mediocre to bad food. Way too expensive to not be good.
We’ve always loved the Del- it has the right ambiance for a sister-mom lunch out. Yet, in the past couple years the quality of the food has suffered to the point that you’d be disappointed at even half the price. The management needs to fix the price vs quality equation.
First visit since "the Del" became part of Hilton and it is much improved. Everything was better. Friendlier, more attentive staff; cleaner; and the food quality is much improved. Eating outside, the setting is simply outstanding. Prices seemed higher but worth it overall -- the Del is not after all a "cheap date".
Sheerwater is a lovely restaurant located on the ocean in the Del Coronado Hotel. Beautiful views, tropical breezes add to the ambiance. Food was excellent as was the presentation. However, be aware, that the prices are high. Seafood salad (large enough for 2) was $40.00.
Most excellent all the way around, no complaints what so ever, mind you it is not cheep.
Our waiter from Albania was exemplary 👍
He added a great deal of enjoyment to our 50th Wedding Anniversary dinner👍
Very good place to go to
Lunch with our son, daughter in law and grandson
All the food are great except the lobster.
Birthday celebration. Enjoyed the restaurant and the service. The food was good but so spendy. Didn’t think it was fabulous to match the price.
This is where I typically treat my clients in the San Diego area while down there and it is AMAZING!
The view was beautiful; the service was amazing and the food was impeccable.
We ordered the crab cake which was literally at least 1 full cup of pure, delicious crab meat. The NY strip was perfectly seasoned and so tender. We ordered the brussel sprouts as an accompaniment and they were amazing. The creme brulee for dessert was just as delicious as everything that preceded it! The prices are a tad high but considering the ambiance, service and taste... totally WORTH IT!
I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back.
To be honest this was a sad attempt at being a fine dining restaurant. We spent $280 including a 20% tip on 2 glasses of wine, 2 mojitos, a sirloin, the short rib, 2 appetizers, and a side of asparagus. The steak was nothing to write home about and the asparagus was cooked to mush and covered in oil. When I told the server she took it away and brought out another exactly the same. When we still didn't eat it or box it up she didn't take it off the bill. Her shirt was sloppy and coming untucked/unbuttoned and she was less than attentive for the prices in our opinion even with help from the assistants. The view was ok, we sat outside and I think we were luckier than those inside.
For a busy weekend lunch (Labor Day weekend Sunday) the place was relatively empty...whether it was on account of the bigger brunch venue next door, unknown. Right off the bat, the water glasses came with thick oily lipstick stains on the rim - something I had to ask our server at least 3 times to please exchange them for clean ones. The rest of the service was rather poor even thought the place had maybe 6 tables full. The food was mediocre at best. The portions were huge however. So quantity over quality seems to be the selling point here. The only good thing I can say was that the cocktails were interesting and good - leading me to believe that in order to fully enjoy this restaurant (people watching notwithstanding) you need a few good cocktails to not care so much about the actual quality of the food or service.
Our server, Armando, was amazing and made sure to make my son feel spoon his birthday. BUT, for the price that we paid for the food, we were expecting the best meal we’ve ever had, it was not. Just a huge let down, it was the icing on the cake of the whole weekend at that terrible hotel.
