   Shaughnessy food was very good on April 17th. They still need to update their dessert menu as the items on it have been there for years. Keep the favorites that diners gravitate to but introduce some new desserts that will temp diners who perhaps normally avoid the dessert offerings to tuck into some tastey NEW-treats !

   The food last night was great! My only criticism of the menu is that often it combines the protein( chicken fish etc) with pasta & I personally would prefer to order pasta by itself & chicken/ fish by itself instead of mixing the 2 ! Fresh veggies with the protein is again in my opinion a better option.

   The service was excellent, the mains very good. But.... the Caesar salad was really weak. A chef in a fine dining establishment should be able to make a good Caesar Salad.

   Shaughnessy needs to re-do their menu as it has b been quite a while since any significant changes have been made. Also & perhaps it is just me but I find it hard to select some of the menu offerings as they have to my way of thinking strange accompaniments to the dish e.g. salmon with gnocchi & chicken which used to be delicious again with accompaniments that I personally find detracting so I now avoid the chicken. A few months ago the menu offered selections that were delicious. Now that is not the case at least for me & my husband. It is too bad as Shaughnessy used to have a very nice menu that most diners could select from & be pleased. Hopefully Shaughnessy will go back to that type of menu in the near future??

    Always a great place to take guests for dinner. Even better on the patio in the summer.
