I came in Friday night. There wasn’t a crowd and was dead. The service was terrible, the internet dropped out and I had to use cash, the food was flavorful. My god they need staff that can make a drink. My margarita was horrible, just that place needs help

The experience at Shaking Crab was like no other! The food was amazing, the books were on point with flavor and portion! Our server Anita was the best! She went above and beyond to make my family feel welcome and taken care of! Will definitely be returning.

Not a good value menus not easy to understand because they give you 4 separate menus. Food quality fair at best. Server brought our check while eating our dinner never offered coffee or dessert. Never going back

Pros: No wait, clean and new, large menu Cons: Food served by a robot, food over seasoned, seafood not fresh Went to Shaking Crab because it recently opened in the area and the franchise has a fairly good reputation in other locations. Extremely overpriced for what was received. The appetizers were typical bar food. The chicken wings were breaded, fried and covered in a very spicy sauce. The mini crab cakes were about a half teaspoon of fried batter with some crab in it. All the fried foods were dark and over cooked, including the pricey platter of various fried seafoods, which were hard on the outside and tough on the inside. The real disappointment were the seafood boils. We had the blue crab and the crawfish. Both were not very fresh, with most of the meat being dark and mealy. The shaking seasoning was also waaaay over spiced with too much garlic, hot pepper, and salt (we got Medium for heat but it should have been labeled extra hot!) Sadly we will not be returning. If you are looking for good seafood boil in Connecticut, go to Juicy in Middletown. If you are just passing through New London and want to stop at one of the restaurants off I-95, go to Texas Roadhouse!

We had the fisherman's platter and the king crab legs. Both were prepared well. The crab legs were rather expensive for the portion size. Overall it was a good meal.

Wayyyyy over priced for the amount of food given! I had a combo boil of two Lobster Tails an a snow crab cluster. The tails were tiny and stuck to the shell, the crab cluster was 3 legs - should have at least been 5 (1/2 the crab) but two of the legs were missing… wife had the Lobster tail boil with crab cluster and shrimp.. We actually finished eating and went to Long Horn after because we were still hungry. Zero value and poor menu descriptions. This place won’t last a year if they keep up with these portions

We were greatly disappointed in this new restaurant. All new restaurants have kinks to work out and we understood that, but…..the service was poor ( the girl was clearly overwhelmed by a party of 5), the appetizers came with the meals, the food was expensive and I left hungry. We spent $250 for 2 kids and 3 adults. I would not have minded the cost if the meal and service were worth it. On the positive side, the atmosphere was very cool. Not sure where the robot that talks and delivers items fits into the vibe, but at least that was entertaining. We will not go back.

This place doesn't know what it is. There is SOMETHING here, but the pieces don't line up: - Food is priced like a high end a la carte fine dining restaurant - Food quality is alright, but not stellar. - Decor is a casual seafood theme - Ambiance includes dance music and a TV showing cooking shows - Service is slow, as if this was an intimate dining experience Which leads to confusing clashes in the experience: Given the pricing of the seafood, it's only OK. Also, it's odd not to display the source (Have you ever seen a $45 lobster dish not listed as "Maine Lobster"?), or to have the environment setup to match "fine dining". Given the casual atmosphere, it's odd to have slow service, a small drink menu, and loud music. There are a handful of good ideas here, they just don't work well together.

Wow..worst food I have had lately, poorest value ever, very expensive for the quantity. Frozen French fries, frozen chicken fingers. One lobster tail $28.00. Are you kidding me. 2 orders of chick fingers, 1 lobster tail and one awful lobster tail sandwich, 3 soft drinks does not equal 118.00. Won’t get much repeat business from anyone.

Absolutely horrible!! Food was awful and way overpriced!! Had to listen to loud rap music (lots of inappropriate language). It was just an awful experience!! Will NEVER go back!!
