Located at the imposing and impressive Dixon Hotel, you will find the stunning Shakedown restaurant near Tower Bridge. At Shakedown we pride ourselves on serving traditional Mediterranean dishes, using only the best locally sourced British ingredients.

Our Head Chef, Marco Quarta, has crafted a delicious menu taking influences from his Italian heritage, traditional flavours and fresh British produce. Each dish showcases the very best of Italian cuisine and local British produce, making Shakedown one of the most exciting places to eat near Tower Bridge.

We offer a range of dishes for all occasions; breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, serving familiar favourites in the morning such as delicious pastries and porridge, to fresh pastas and traditional pizzas from midday onwards. All of the ingredients we use are in season and are each individually selected for their freshness.

Shakedown, nestled in the vibrant Tower Bridge area of London, is more than just a Cocktail Bar, Espresso Bar, and All dining restaurant. Back in 1905, our hotel served as a bustling police station, and the restaurant floor was home to 22 holding cells in the basement, each holding a story of its own.

This was a recommended and boosted by open table so we assumed it would be a good place to eat in our last night in London. Wrong. We were greeted to an almost empty restaurant and they couldn’t find our reservation. We then sat down and ordered drinks and bread. Then our dinners. It took at least 25 minutes to bring the bread and another 25 for our food. The food was sub par. The seafood risotto tasted like they dumped a bucket of salt in it and the carbonara had literally no taste and little sauce. The staff was inattentive and seemed annoyed we were even there. Don’t wasted your time or money on this restaurant. Was not worth it. So disappointed.

Very nice afternoon tea, scones were particularly good. The choice of an alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktail was a nice touch. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

The people were very friendly but our first server left the didn’t pass us on to another server. We had to seek out additional drinks and the bill. Otherwise the food was fantastic and the overall place is great! This seemed like a one time gaffe. I would definitely return.

Lovely food , excellent service and perfect for a pre theatre dinner . Highly recommend the 3 course with Prosecco . Will definitely be back

We had a lovely time here. The food was delicious, and the service was good. Despite its proximity to the busy Tower Bridge area, the atmosphere here was peaceful.

Service was very slow, we waited 20 minutes for our drinks order to be taken. We then waited an hour and ten minutes for our food to arrive. When we received the bill and mentioned we wouldn't be paying the service charge the waitress was a bit off putting and a little rude. Wont be returning here!
