Shadowbrook Winery has become the East Bay’s most decorated winery in San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition with over 69 medals. Shadowbrook is a small production family owned winery located in the foothills of Mt. Diablo. We produce and offer a wide range of exceptional red wines and some white wine offerings as well.

We are by appointment only.
Things to note before Booking and Arriving: We CANNOT accommodate anyone under age 21. Please no children and no pets, with the exception of certified service animals, personal pets and emotional support animals are NOT allowed. Prior arrangements must be made in advance to accommodate said certified service animals.

From seasonal salads and charcuterie to a variety of artisan flatbreads, Shadowbrook Winery’s Small Bites Menu is perfectly paired with selections of our finest vintages. There is plenty of shade and heat sources in all of our outdoor settings.

This unique experience offers our guests the opportunity to relax in our charming outdoor fireplace seating area for a maximum of 2 hours. We gladly welcome groups of up to 2 guests. Please be aware that reservations for this seating area are limited to a 2-hour duration. Should you wish to extend your time, there is an extra charge of $10 per person for each additional hour if the area is available. It's important to note that this fee covers only the extended seating time and does not include any costs related to wine, wine tastings, or other consumption fees. The fees for the Private Seating area are both non-refundable and non-changeable.

Date night with my wife. Amazing ambience seated outside on covered area next to a roaring fire. The new chef, previously from 2 Michelin restaurants, is amazing. Steak frites, mushrooms, Romanesque all paired fantastic with an awesome bottle 2012 Shadowbrook estate cab. Well done to all. We will be back again very soon.

Jeff George was out wine diplomat. He’s very engaging and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting him. The winery and its surroundings, the patio, etc., was outstanding. A great venue for wine tasting and Jeff, even though occupied with several tables, he always found time to get to know us and us him, all while serving our wine and answering specific questions. Our experience at the winery was excellent because of him. The wine was good but we’ve had better Cabs, however, he sold the experience. We’ll return as it’s a great venue for relaxing and enjoying wine tasting and/or a glass of beer or enjoy the food (we did not sample the food).

Hidden gem in Walnut Creek with nice view, nice live background music, and great service. It was a bit difficult to have conversations with noise level from other guests but overall really nice afternoon.

I used to be a wine club member here and brought a friend for the first time who had never been. I talked this place up since it’s right in our backyard. However I was sorely disappointed and we cut our stay there short because of it. They weren’t that busy for a Fri night (we had early reservations at 5:15) and we were sat right away and greeted immediately, but then basically forgotten. We ordered two apps (which we believe were forgotten since we had to ask someone else about them after 45 min had passed) and finished our one glass of wine with no one returning to offer us additional wines. We started with bubbles and had planned to order a wine flight each afterwards, but once our food finally arrived, we just ordered one additional glass to finish with our food and then just left. Not once were we told anything about the wines we were drinking (and I work in the wine industry so I expect this as a basic standard at any winery). And it’s very expensive for what it is and what you get. The property is beautiful and the proximity to our house makes it worth a stop if you want a taste of wine country without the drive to Napa or Sonoma. But the service was so terrible, it completely ruined our experience and no one seemed to notice or care. Sadly I won’t be recommending Shadowbrook or visiting again anytime soon. I kept apologizing to my friend and telling her this is not how it “used to be” and that it was “the worst experience I’d ever had there”. Not sure if it was an off night or what, but our server didn’t seem to know what was going on and seemed forgetful and unaware that her customers were not being taken care of. Hopefully they’ll get it together and figure it out. If you spend $120 for a couple of glasses of wine and a couple of apps, you expect better service and a better overall experience.

Fantastic service, the owner is very personable and made sure that my wife and I were taken care of. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. I could not have asked for a better experience. It is definitely a hidden gem in the east bay. Absolutely loved it.

The service was phenomenal. The woman who took care of us, Alex, was amazing and knowledgeable about all the wines and food. She made our experience so spectacular. The views were breathtaking. This is truly a hidden gem winery.

What a beautiful, delicious gem of a place in our own backyard! Try every dish on the menu - you will be happy you did! The new chef (John I think it was) was fantastic!! I love the Chardonnay, but the Pinot Melange will blow your mind - a chilled red?? Crazy fantastic! All of the staff were great! Talking with the owner is an added bonus - he was so informative and the history lessons were much appreciated. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to go back!

Somewhat dreamy to be in a vineyard in Walnut Creek and thats pretty much where the charm ends. Inattentive service and a very clear sentiment of providing the minimal service. Long wait times for food, which seemed like it was reheated from a Costco run. Plastic water glasses and basic wine. I am glad I went, and will likely never to it again.

Beautiful little winery great customer service. They had a wonderful musician playing. Wine was ok we had Rose tasted tangy better when we ordered snacks. The Chardonnay was interesting fruity and a little oak and butter at the same time. Food value was not the highlight. Some items were ok but the last item we ordered was the wagu sliders 20 bucks very good but basically two small rolls thin slice of beef and greens and a little sauce. I would visit again because it’s close and service was great! Thanks Kevin!

Visited on Thursday night and they had the $5 beer special and the burger special. Started the evening with a cold and crisp Pilsner and then enjoyed a bottle of 2015 Cab Sauvignon. We split a burger and a flatbread pizza. The food was delicious.

a complete surprise - exceeded expectations. 1. The wines were excellent - Napa quality in Walnut Creek 2. food was on point/ Fries crisp outside savory insides, Ahi perfect and the best was Focaccia with figs and prosciutto 3. Service excellent, Kevin was wonderful 4. We went at the end of day on a Sat and there was live music What a find!!!
