Had a date night pre-show dinner for the first time. Our reservation was a 5 and we were the only customers for a while. We had the HOUSEMADE GOUGÈRES that was delicious as well as the cheese board. We then decided to try the seafood board. The mussel escabeche, Snapper tartare with mignonette, charred lemon, and compound butter was DEVINE! The blue crab claws were on the really small size but good. The oysters were BAD. Super small and warm. Overall we had a lovely time and the restaurant was beautiful. The servers were ok but truly paid much more attention to patrons at the bar than the tables.

What a disappointing experience this was for Mother’s Day! When we arrived for our reservation, there was no one at the hostess stand. A line of patrons started to form as several wait staff walked by without a single greeting. Didn’t even look at us. The manager finally showed up after a few minutes, only addressed the customers ahead of us despite several parties in line. When it was our turn to be seated (9 minutes later,) I even told the manager that he looked stressed. (He was bussing tables and setting tables despite a partially empty dining room.). But he said he wasn’t stressed. He never smiled and looked like he hated his life but ok, he’s not stressed. As a former restaurant worker, we were always told to address your table within 60 seconds and say hello, even if it’s, I’ll be right with you. No existing policy like that at Seranade. Then we sit down. We ordered an appetizer and three entrees. We get our three entries before our appetizer. We asked the woman who brought out our entries about the appetizer. She said it was never entered. We tried to get our waiter’s attention but he never made eye contact and went out of his way to not check in on us, again, despite only 3-4 tables in the dining room. I wanted to get another cafe latte and dessert but after the poor service, we just wanted to get out of there. Patrons behind us also waited a long time to get seated. I was excited to try Seranade, especially since it had been opened less than a year. The food was ok, not bad but nothing great. But the service, from the moment we arrived until we left was lacking and frankly embarassing for a nice establishment like the W. I have friends who live there and have been to the W many times before, when Trace was still around and I even rented a suite for a bachelorette party. But I am hesitant to ever return. Hopefully, Seranade will succeed but I would not be surprised if it shuts down soon.

When we first arrived there was no one to greet us, we stood there for 12 mins without a peep. I really think the staff that passed by could have stopped and said hello welcome in, someone will be with you shortly. The menu was easy to read and flowed well. The coffee was great, the pancakes were amazing, bacon was cooked perfectly. Our waiter was pleasant and made great recommendations.

We had 10am RSVPs and were sat at our table about 6 or 7 minutes later and them had to wait 20 minutes for anyone to even stop by our table to even fill our water glasses. Great ambiance, horrible service.

Disappointed in the Easter brunch buffet. No omelette station and fresh eggs an ala carte charge. For $140 per person, expected more. The pastries were very good with the pot de crème in the Easter eggs being the highlight of the meal. Overall spent $460 with drinks and two fried eggs. Carving station had overcooked prime rib or rack of lamb that was also overcooked. No ham, no filet; just the two meats and au jus or Demi glacé. Would not recommend. Service was fine and ambience as well.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and our waitress was friendly, but unfortunately, our Easter brunch experience left a lot to be desired. I’m not someone who typically complains about cost, but $140 per person for a mediocre buffet felt incredibly disappointing and, frankly, a bit appalling. The food selection was minimal at best; maybe 6 to 8 main dishes total. The items that were available were lukewarm, and the bagels were already toasted and burnt to a crisp. For that price point, I would’ve expected fresh eggs, at the very least. What made it more frustrating was that we weren’t even shown the à la carte menu until after we’d gone through the buffet and we had to ask for it. I would’ve much preferred to order off the menu had I been given those menu choices upfront. I imagine this restaurant is perfectly fine for a regular meal when the buffet isn’t involved, but the Easter brunch was a definite letdown and felt like a waste of money—especially for what was meant to be a nice way to wrap up our weekend in Austin.

Great ambience, great service but the food and drink was lacking relative to the price point. Tuna coconut lime ceviche was great; chicken was flat, bland at best and too salty missed the mark relative to price point. The chocolate desert was flat literally :) and figuratively :/ fell short
