Serenade American Brasserie reimagines a classic brasserie through a Lone Star lens, creating one of Austin’s most central and relaxed dining destinations. Welcome to a place where the allure of French oak meets the draw of Texas smoke.

Featuring locally-sourced dishes for all day dining, Serenade offers elevated comfort food in a setting that is both approachable and tranquil. The cocktails are bespoke and inventive, the wine list is globally curated, and the beer selection ranges from European specialties to local Austin brews. Serenade is led by Chef Johnny Ray Stinebaugh, with menu development overseen by W Austin’s Executive Chef Manuel Rodriguez.

Located on the ground floor of W Austin, Serenade spans an inviting indoor-outdoor and day-to-evening space. In the dining room and at the large focal point bar, double-height ceilings enhance the soft, golden light, while avian motifs appear throughout.

Disappointed in the Easter brunch buffet. No omelette station and fresh eggs an ala carte charge. For $140 per person, expected more. The pastries were very good with the pot de crème in the Easter eggs being the highlight of the meal. Overall spent $460 with drinks and two fried eggs. Carving station had overcooked prime rib or rack of lamb that was also overcooked. No ham, no filet; just the two meats and au jus or Demi glacé. Would not recommend. Service was fine and ambience as well.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and our waitress was friendly, but unfortunately, our Easter brunch experience left a lot to be desired. I’m not someone who typically complains about cost, but $140 per person for a mediocre buffet felt incredibly disappointing and, frankly, a bit appalling. The food selection was minimal at best; maybe 6 to 8 main dishes total. The items that were available were lukewarm, and the bagels were already toasted and burnt to a crisp. For that price point, I would’ve expected fresh eggs, at the very least. What made it more frustrating was that we weren’t even shown the à la carte menu until after we’d gone through the buffet and we had to ask for it. I would’ve much preferred to order off the menu had I been given those menu choices upfront. I imagine this restaurant is perfectly fine for a regular meal when the buffet isn’t involved, but the Easter brunch was a definite letdown and felt like a waste of money—especially for what was meant to be a nice way to wrap up our weekend in Austin.

Great ambience, great service but the food and drink was lacking relative to the price point. Tuna coconut lime ceviche was great; chicken was flat, bland at best and too salty missed the mark relative to price point. The chocolate desert was flat literally :) and figuratively :/ fell short

The restaurant was moderately busy on a Thursday evening; however, our service was very slow. Every part of the meal took much longer than it should have. We ordered second drinks half way through the first ones because the first ones took so long to arrive. The table next to ours arrived after us, had twice as many people, and their food arrived the same time ours did. The sea bass was very good; however, my husband’s NY Strip was tough and over priced for the quality. We ordered dessert before dinner was complete because of the slow service to that point. Unfortunately, we had to cancel it because it took longer than 20 minutes to arrive and we needed to leave. Our server was polite and attentive when available. For a high end dining experience, we were disappointed and most likely would not recommend the restaurant or dine here again.

Very nice remodel of what used to be trace at the W. French bistro type cuisine and atmosphere, quaint and elegant decor. Great food at good value.

Food was good. Beef tartare was memorable. Drinks were really good. Ambiance needs some improvements, very beautiful restaurant but it’s way too bright in there. They need the lower to lighting significantly to create a more intimate atmosphere. Need to expand the dinner menu. Tomahawk was good but have as much better for less in Austin. The fact that that’s the only steak option at $200+ is a bit ridiculous. Tons of potential if you ask me but they need to rethink some of the menu items and lower the brightness of the lighting. Also, wine by the glass can improve, for a high end hotel/restaurant, there should be more thought to the “by the glass list” vs the “safe” mainstream options they offer.
