The ritual of coming together sharing wine and food with family and friends is the central motif in our lives. Italian food has an immediacy, honesty, and warmth; it possesses the spirit of a grandmother's wisdom and love. Italian food isn't about trailblazing alchemy or edible high fashion; Italian food is about staying connected—to each other, to the past, to the earth.

Serafina is our go-to for special occasions for my husband and I. This time was just like previous visits: perfect ambiance, service, food/drink, and value. It is like visiting a good friend’s place. We need to up our visits to more than a few times’s a year! Wonderful!
I found a same-day reservation for 9 PM, arrived at 7:30 to enjoy drinks with my friend and found seating at the bar. Great service, food, and atmosphere. Bartenders were busy yet friendly, I’m considering becoming a regular even though it’s out-of-the-way for me.
Wonderful atmosphere and flawlessly prepared dishes. I would order each appetizer, entree and wine again. My dinner companion said that he wouldn’t change a thing and I agree. I’d suggest a table on the patio if you’d enjoy a more quiet, intimate experience as we did.
Excellent food and service. Unfortunately, extremely loud which was not great for our dining experience .
Excellent food. Loved the octopus appetizer and short ribs. Attentive service even though the place was packed.
Celebration of first job
Four cocktails, 2 salads, 3 pastas, 2 meat dishes, 2 deserts, and a recommended wine, served family style to a group of 4; all perfection! Service exceptional.
Nice ambiance and great food. Great fall menu! Enjoy Serafina all of the time!
My wife and I went to Serafina after almost 5 years. Serafina is a classic neighborhood restaurant that is warm and inviting, and it was as magical as we remembered it the last time we were there. The appetizers were fantastic, the wine and cocktails were sublime, the entrees were just the right size and the deserts were literally the proverbial icing on the cake. All in all it was an amazing dinner, and we fell in love with northern Italian cooking all over again. Looking forward to making it a tradition going forward, and not one that we follow every 5 years!
Delicious and romantic as ever
We keep coming back to Serafina because it is consistently excellent. On a blustery Fall night sitting down to enjoy their cauliflower soup, lamb ragu bolognese and a glass of wine ... nothing better.
Amazing food, atmosphere and wonderful server! Thanks Melinda for a great night!!!😀😀😀
I've dined at Serafina perhaps 10 times over the past 20+ years. It is a great neighborhood restaurant, but not in the Top 10 Italian restaurants of Greater Seattle. We arrived when it opened at 5p, so there were very few tables occupied. Our server was quite inattentive -- it tooks us most of 30 minutes to order a bottle of wine and our food. And the food came out quite sluggishly. Perhaps they were understaffed (the pandemic labor shortage), as the restaurant got to perhaps 70% full. Food was great (as always).
A very dimly (sometimes too dimly) lit, cozy restaurant with amazing food!
Great good, great service, great overall experience. Never disappoints.
Food was great, atmosphere was great, server was ok
this was the busiest restaurant environment i've been in since the pandemic began, tables very close together and packed. The fact that the restaurant required proof of vaccination upon entry did put my mind more at ease. We came in for Seattle restaurant week, and the food quality was stellar with great options on the restaurant week menu. Pacing of the meal was pretty slow, but the restaurant was very busy and I know most restaurants are struggling with staffing levels.
I loved Serafina! The restaurant has a really cozy atmosphere and all the food was delicious! We had two orders of bread (focaccia and oil), polpo, and polpettine for appetizers, rigatoni bolognese, a carbonara special, and lasagna for dinner, with the cioccolata for dessert. Each dish was near-perfect and my complaints have more to do with personal preference except the lasagna which should have been much meatier for featuring three meats at $26. Service was excellent - our waters were always full. We had a bit of a wait between finishing our mains and being brought the dessert menu but there were also a bunch more tables beginning to come in at that time so I understand. Definitely will come here again!
I love that restaurants now need proof of vaccinations. Made for a comfortable fun evening that felt like the old days!
I have eaten at Serafina many times and the food is always good.
My only small complaint was that the Bolognese was a bit overly salted.
Terrific food, wonderful service, lovely ambience. But, so loud we four could barely hear one another, something we haven’t experienced at Serafina before.
This is one of our all time favorites. The eggplant dish is excellent and last nights bucatini was also a shining example of tasty Italian dishes. We’d love to see the pre-pandemic crusty Tuscan bread loaf return. The new focaccia was a bit doughy and bland. Otherwise, it’s all good with great wine selections too.
Wonderful meal as usual!
Great food, impeccable service, well balanced cocktails, and good company and atmosphere.
Great service from an extremely friendly staff. Food was classic, delicious, and a great value.
Excellent food and service during restaurant week. Parking is a challenge. Suggest Uber or Lyft.
Food was fabulous! One of our group had trouble finding a glass of deep red that he loved. Server tried to be helpful with what they had opened. Overall a 5 experience.
Serafina is a true gem of a restaurant/dining experience. Service at Serafina is fantastic with each person knowledgeable of the entire menu. Speaking of menus, the fall menu is one of my favorites with the brussels sprouts, I wait for them each year. I have a tough time ordering as each dish is unique and delicious, but that is a good problem to have.
Serafina never fails to delight! I always choose this place to fête out of town guests or for special occasions.
A good ending to a trying day!
We celebrated an anniversary and it was spectacular.
Fantastic service and an outstanding meal! The eggplant involtini was the bomb! The brussel sprouts and the octopus appetizers were so tasty… so many delicious flavors. Plus our server was professional and had an upbeat, fun demeanor. Love Serafina!
First time back “post” covid. Had a lovely dinner with husband in the patio before the rain came. Most people were eating inside. Serafina keeps delivering high quality food and service year after year.
Always a lovely experience at Serafina! Such a delight.
Wonderful food, specials were perfection.
The meal was traditional and contemporary creative at the same time - just excellent. Dining outdoors in the garden was perfect - one of the nicest outdoor dining spots in Seattle - a gem!
My daughter announced last night that this is her favorite restaurant in Seattle, and now I see why. The food and drinks were delicious -- creative without seeming to try too hard just to be different. We had excellent service from a staff that was friendly and professional. And the atmosphere was great, hitting the sweet spot between upscale and casual.
We are visiting our Husky for Family Weekend and wanted to treat him to a special dinner and give him a break from dining hall food. Our meal was excellent. The butter lettuce salad was perfectly dressed. The smaller portion pasta dishes are a great option. The rigatoni bolognese was delicious. The gelato was fantastic. My Husky enjoyed the spaghetti with clams. The inside of restaurant was a bit too crowded for me, so we were grateful for the patio seating and we were comfortable there. We will definitely dine here again during our next trip to Seattle.
Phenomenal experience at Serafina a couple weekends ago. We went and celebrated our anniversary and had never been there before, but had read great things. From start to finish the service was top-notch, the sommelier Sal was super helpful and knowledgeable and brought us a bottle that was just what we were looking for. The starters and dinner were 10/10. The chocolate dessert wasn’t very interesting, but to me it didn’t take away from our experience. If you are sleeping on this place, wake up and set your reservation, it’s fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.
The food and the service were fantastic but the restaurant was overbooked, chaotic, and very crowded. Despite having reservations, we were originally seated at a four-top in the middle of a high-traffic thoroughfare that just shouldn't be there at all. The staff was very kind and didn't miss a beat when we expressed a preference for a seat in the bar area rather than the dining room, really anywhere except that floating table with people moving around it on all sides.
Food and service were outstanding! Very warm and welcoming place.
