At Seneca, we do something special for groups of 9-14 guests, as we invite large parties to gather together and feast. "Convivium" is a fixed three-course, family-style meal priced per guest. There is an entry level option as well as a supplemented option with more food. You won't have to make any decisions, as we'll take care of everything, cooking up some of our favorite dishes from every section of the menu. However, because this is family style, all diners must choose the same option upon booking. Cancellations may be made up to 48 hours in advance of your reservation, any cancellations within the 48 hours are not eligible for refunds. Tax, 20% Gratuity, and 4% service fee applied at checkout.

What a cool room! And the menu offers pretty good balance. But nothing we ate was above average and the service could have been much better -- not in terms of pace, but just understanding the customer... or perhaps the menu and wines by the glass. We asked about certain dishes and the information was incorrect and we tried different wines and all missed the mark esp considering we ended up paying $35 for one glass of red wine. It also seemed like since we did taste 3 wines, that when we ordered our $35 glass, the pour was cut back... which was easy to perceive since another glass of wine was brought at the same time. We had fun and are glad we tried it, but all agreed, no thank you on any repeat visit and would not recommend.

Food was good. The waiter was awful. He rushed our decisions from the first time he approached the table. He wanted to know what we wanted for every course upfront 2 minutes after he dropped the menu. He then came back to ask if we would be needing anything else after they had only brought 1/3 meals and no drinks, and no utensils. Clearly this a rush to get people in and out without caring if you get or enjoy your meal. We will not be returning. Overpriced and rushed. There are much better options in San Diego.

Our service was fabulous from beginning to end. It was our first time here celebrating a birthday. They accommodated us so nicely. Not one bad thing to say. Will return.
