Dinner was excellent. We shared the clams in pesto sauce and the crab bisque for appetizers. We had the steelhead with the potato crisp and halibut with the swordfish accompaniments as per our servers recommendation for our mains. I had the blood orange margarita, it was delicious! Our server was lovely, very knowledgeable about the menu, recommendations were on point. She has worked there for 18 years!
Good food + Good service = Great experience.
It’s happened before and will repeat.
Our dinner was fabulous, the food was perfect, service great but atmosphere way too noisy. Could not hear my guests right across the table. I recommend a table in a quite area, otherwise great!
This restaurant always provides a pleasant ambiance, excellent food and excellent service. In addition, it's quiet enough so friends can carry on a conversation. I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
As always, the quality of our food was outstanding. At this meal, we had the Halibut and the Scallops. The Halibut was the best that I have ever had, and the Scallops were cooked to perfection. Our waiter was very professional, attentive, and personable. If you are looking for that special meal, this is definitely a place to consider.
We’ve been dining here for more than 10 years now and the place consistently delivers an outstanding experience. The sashimi appetizer had fresher fish than I’ve had at some of the country’s best sushi bars. Hot and sour soup is always flavored perfectly and with generous portions of shrimp. My wife’s steelhead and my petrale sole impeccably prepared and arrived (as always) with everything on the plate nice and hot. Can’t count how many times a well prepared meal takes too long to get to the table—-that is an example of one of the smaller details that Seastar always gets right. Great wine assistance from the sommelier and our server Molly was absolutely charming and attentive in just the right proportions. This last meal reminded us of why we keep coming back to Seastar—the team is dedicated to the creativity of fine food and the discipline of providing great service. Kudos to the entire team.
Our server Erica was awesome. She checked in just enough and was very knowledgeable and experienced
A very enjoyable evening celebrating a special occasion.
The food and service are always consistent and good. Prices are up more than we think they should be and they no longer bring that wonderful bread basket. It’s available but you have to pay for it.
Known for the wine list. And if you have to eat something, food is fantastic as well!
There are only a few restaurants that are totally over the top when it comes to food preparation, presentation and extraordinary flavor. Seastar is definitely one of the best. Starting with crab cakes, fresh crab with no fillers served with a light salad and a complementary honey based lime dressing. The appetizer was over-welling. Then prosciutto wrapped scallops with a arugula leaves. The prosciutto was mild but an excellent choice to enhance the flavor of the scallops which were grilled to perfection. The lettuce contrasted perfectly to the richness of the scallops and served on a bed of thin sliced watermelon which cleansed the palette. My companions trout was more flavorful than any fish that I have tasted. We decided on splitting the truffles for desert and still ended up taking half of them home. Again, perfection if not in excess. I prefer a county garden setting so a downtown location is a detraction. The price is quite in line with the quality of the food and I would highly recommend Seastar to anyone wishing to taste seafood at it's best.
Seastar has never disappointed us. You have to start your dining experience with the Seastar Appetizer Tower. The Apple Wood Grilled Wild King Salmon, the Cedar Plank Wild King Salmon, the Swordfish and the Steak & Lobster all were cooked and served to perfection. The Handmade Seastar Truffles ended our evening with even bigger smiles. John Howie's Kur for the Cure cocktail donation truly made toasting more meaningful.
Salmon was over cooked and dry. Overall meal was bland. Wouldn’t suggest this establishment for the food, although the wait staff were pleasant and accommodating.
We had a lovely time, had a great server and would do it again in a heartbeat
Everything was great until we got home. We both are sick. We think it maybe it was something from the tower we ate. I don’t know.
Everything was perfect and made especially so by our friendly and accommodating wait staff. They were wonderful!
My friend and I often get the pear and blue cheese salad for lunch (used to be Maytag Salad). Unfortunately it’s about half the size it used to be at a higher price. The service however, was exemplary!
Thank you for the feedback and for being our guest! I will share it with our team. Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit.
Requested mignonette sauce and horseradish with oysters. Received creamy horseradish and what we were told was a champagne mignonette that looked like dishwater. Explained to the waiter what a classic mignonette was and requested again. He told us the executive chef was off and the sous chef made more champagne mignonette. The sommelier who had seen our oysters asked how they were and we explained we hadn’t tried them yet- were waiting for mignonette sauce. When she returned again she saw it wasn’t there, asked what happened, we explained, and she recanted how it should be made and said that was inexcusable. The wild salmon we ordered was pedestrian. Every item came with a huge clump of parsley; poor presentation. Shrimp shumai appetizer was awful - couldn’t finish it. Seated next to an ear- shattering table and raised our conversation to foghorn level at times to hear each other. No attempt by waiter or sommelier to rectify our dissatisfaction. An awful meal and a vastly overrated restaurant.
We had an excellent birthday dinner. The food was delicious. Loved having gluten-free options. Loved all of the fresh and beautiful veggies with the halibut (heirloom tomatoes, nice radish slices, greens, green beans, and more). There was no starch served with the halibut, but the veggies were plentiful and lovely. Salmon and steak entrees were delicious, too. Blueberry peach cobbler was fab. Service was excellent. The main dining room got quite loud; we've been in the side DR before and that seems a bit quieter (lower ceiling).
I have been to Seastar a few times now. This last time was not as good as prior visits. The sushi tasted a bit fishy and the swordfish was swimming in more sauce than to my liking. Overall it was good but I expected better for the price.
The food, as always was outstanding. We love the appetizer seafood tower and it never disappoints! Unfortunately, at our last few times the service has been pretty dismal. It took forever for someone to come to our table, it took forever to get drinks, we were never asked if we wanted another drink and it took so long to just order the dessert that we took my daughter’s birthday dessert home. It’s sad because the food is really good, but I can’t recommend because of the service. At this price point the service should be exceptional.
I had not been to Seastar for dinner in a while. I was shocked by the prices, with the majority of the entrees at $50 or more. My seafood linguine was around $34 and was very mediocre, with the noodles clumping together and the sauce not at all memorable. Plus the ambience of the main dining room is overly subdued and corporate feeling to the point of being dull. Hard to see how this restaurant would survive if it was on the Seattle side of the lake.
Excellent food and service. Took my two sons for their birthday celebrations and could not have chosen a better place.
Food was good. We were never given bread at our table. Also the men’s bathroom was a mess. I thought the prices were a bit high.
It was as delightful as always. John Howies restauraunt never disappoints!!
Food was fantastic. Pedro was an outstanding server who made the meal even better. We have been to the restaurant many times and will keep coming back.
Most enjoyable evening when family was in town. Tasty!
Very fantastic place! First time there and it was simply amazing. Excellent food and service!
Another good experience at Seastar. Good food served in a reasonable amount of time with overall good service.
Menu selection is not overly extensive but adequate for a fine dining experience in Bellevue.
My one issue is always price/value at Seastar - $339 ( no drinks and no desserts) for 4 people is spendy.
Great food and good service.
Seastar is our favorite go-to spot for any special occasion. We recently celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary with another exquisite dinner at this great restaurant. Service was very personable and made us feel like family. All the servers were very attentive. The food preparation is always a work of art with taste and flavors to match. Amazing as always!
The foods are fair. The grill salmon is lack of flavor. The halibut is rough. The cost of each dish is around $50. No complimentary bread.
scallops and swordfish tasted very fresh and nicely prepared, slightly salty for my taste. Cocktails were very good, sapphire martini and sapphire gin and tonic.
My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The staff were very attentive and we had a perfect evening. We were treated to complimentary dessert too😋 We’ll definitely be back.
While the service was A+ and the facilities were quite nice, I was very disappointed in the fish and chips. Very greasy cod and the fries were way too thin and over cooked, must like those potato sticks from yesteryear. Highly likely my next business meeting will be elsewhere.
Excellent ahi poke and white chocolate coconut pie - not really a pie just a small mountain of delectable deliciousness!! Service was very fast, friendly, and very joyful.
Service was excellent. Food is always good
Seastar is not only my hands down favorite restaurant in Bellevue, but it's most of my co-workers favorite restaurant as well. It's a great place to go for a business, celebratory or normal lunch/dinner. I like how the noise level is never so loud I can't hear someone across the table. If you like seafood, then this is the place to go!
Came here for our wedding anniversary. Service was excellent! Appreciated the “Happy Anniversary” compliments. Food was great! I got the halibut, my wife got the scallops. To start my wife got oysters and I had the lobster bisque. Drinks were awesome as well.
