Searsucker, located in the Warehouse District of Downtown Austin, Texas, is a nationally recognized restaurant concept by Top Chef alum Brian Malarkey. Menus are both serious and fun, with creative twists on New American Classics for Weekend Brunch, Weekday Lunch, Dinner and Happy Hour. Dishes range from shared plates and small bites ideal for the whole table, to farm and ocean dishes that you’ll want to keep all to yourself.

Searsucker embodies the social dining experience by encouraging guests to come early and stay late. Inspired by the simplicity, relaxed and feel-good vibe of the seersucker fabric, Chef Brian Malarkey created a space that invites patrons to relax and enjoy. The airy design features a glass enclosed kitchen, a lounge space with comfortable seating and a lively bar area. Patrons can watch the action, chat without boundaries and feel as if they’re at a friend’s dinner party rather than a restaurant.

It was our second time to dine at the restaurant. First time had been brunch, so we were looking forward to checking it out for dinner. Love the ambiance. Host was very welcoming. The staff had a collaborative spirit about serving tables by having several of them check in, bring food out, etc, but not over doing it, so we could enjoy each other. They elevated comfort food. The braised short rib was delicious, and the special, seafood risotto was sublime. I’d be remiss if i didn’t mention the peanut butter cheesecake. Yum! We had a lovely decadent meal. Would go back for sure.

Service was the best part. They aren't a super kid friendly restaurant, but they went out of their way to entertain and had empathy. Food was good, but heavy. Southern just isn't always our thing. Decor and vibe was positive, but confusing. We had a lively discussion on the theme- as its name made me think coastal, interior was barn like. Then it included farm animal modern art, retractable smokey glass doors- very modern, animal hide lounge furniture, and then went from Palm trees to boxwood topiaries and french bistro tables. It all meshed ok, but just felt a bit least enough to notice.

Our server was inattentive and seemed very bored, it was hard to get her attention, it seemed like helping us was the last thing she was interested it. :-(

We were in from out of town and throughly enjoyed our visit! We split the kimchi fried rice & eggs and the chiliquilis. Would highly recommend if a local or not!

Everything is always amazing. I come here every time I visit Austin and every time it is better than the last. This time I mentioned they make the best spicy ketchup and the staff went above and beyond to send me home with a really nice jar wrapped and tied filled with ketchup. Thank you to to staff for once again an amazing experience and such a wonderful menu.

I cannot tell you what a wonderful experience we had at Searsucker! Aaron, our waiter, was so nice and very friendly. He hand-crafted a dessert for my wife’s birthday. The manager was equally friendly and kind. We felt as though we were regular VIP’s and it was our first experience. Certainly won’t be our last!! Well done guys!!

So, disappointed in this restaurant. It was recommended by a concierge but nothing was good about it. Spotty service. One meal came out at a time and most were cold, bathrooms were FILTHY (which tells you a lot about the kitchen) and overall a very bad experience. Waste of an evening in Austin.

Searsucker was excellent - we wanted to lick the plate of everything we tried. Between the 4 of us we had: short rib, hangar steak, filet, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts and banana pudding.
Service was excellent, food was fabulous - definitely a do over.

Great decor. Good service. Good menu.

Cons. Food was very salty, some inedible. Wine prices are excessively marked up, particularly by the bottle prices. I felt ripped off.

Everything was so delicious - food and drink. Our group of 6 ordered several jars, small plates and entrees and shared. Plenty of food and so much more fun to share! We had the beets & burrata jar, the pimento queso, Mac n cheese, Brussel sprouts, Hanger Steak, Swordfish and Diver Scallops. Wilson, the manager, gave us all free strawberry jalapeño infused tequila shots to celebrate our friend'a birthday. So nice! Overall fantastic experience and Kristen the hostess was wonderful as well!
