Welcome to Searcys Iris Bar at The Gherkin! The Searcys Iris Bar is located on the 40th-floor dome of The Gherkin. Open to all, guests will find themselves eye-to-eye with the city’s skyscrapers whilst enjoying an extensive cocktail, wine and Champagne list as unique as the location, paying homage to the London sights and neighbourhoods that can all be spied below from the Gherkin’s distinctive position.

Pleasant staff to meet and greet. Good spacing between tables and good waiter service. Unique setting, with good view over the city, so very good ambience. A nice, but discreet, touch with the 'happy birthday' plate for my wife's birthday. Wine a little expensive, but not unexpected and served at correct temperature. All food courses good quality and nicely presented.

2nd visit was a total disappointment- had to request a different server before ordering the meal - server was absolutely and totally inexperienced for this type of dining, 1- dirty flatware knife on the table 2- when asked about a certain listed wine, the reply was “I don’t know, I don’t drink wine, let me find out. 3- seemed to be her first time opening a wine bottle, she even managed to break the cork! At this point I request to speak with the manager and advised I wanted a different server. Manager Mark took it upon himself to serve my table which saved the meal- he was very gracious. Food is nowhere near as good as it once including the menu creativity- gnocchi was nowhere as lite in texture as before and the corn sauce was too heavy and rich to complement the dish. For reasons given, the Gherkin is no longer our favorite restaurant

I’d always dreamt of eating at the Gherkin Helix restaurant. Having had the opportunity to dine at many wonderful restaurants this was slightly disappointing. The toilets were clean and but dated. Small details like the quality of toilet paper could’ve made a difference. I wish I had visited it about 10 years earlier and not gone to the Shard but saying all that I think it worth a visit remember to take some ID.
