This was a real find- amazing service and some really great crudos! The raw options are super with oysters from both coasts and the four wonderful crudos- we picked three and loved them all. The wine list is excellent and the fish choices fresh (you can see them in the case out front just like in Italy or France.) This place was worth a return trip; the only issue to us was the shopping center location (albeit an upscale shopping center but still...) being city dwellers this signals mediocre suburban food from corporate restaurants. This place was NOTTHAT WAY AT ALL! other than the size of it.... all the staff we encountered were friendly, not cogs in the machine, and every dish we had was good to great. As mentioned we had the selection of crudos - then a ceasar salad (served sushi style) and the grilled octopus which maybe had a tad bit too much char but was so tender that it made up for it. The mains were the red snapper and crispy whole fish- both worthy of compliments. We both agreed that the starters and seafood towers called to us for a next visit- and there will be one!
One of the top restaurant in Florida...Great food and great service. You can't get it any better.
The food is good very good but it's very pricey.Great seafood. Service was good not great.
First visit here since moving to the area a year ago, service was top class, very friendly and attentive... Food was outstanding, I had the short rib... wow, one of the best I've tasted.
Came here before a concert. Drinks, food, and atmosphere were all perfect! We sat out on the patio, and enjoyed the Fire and Ice platter, which was more than enough food to fill us up. Then we were surprised with some complimentary cotton candy from the chef. Would definitely recommend Sea Salt to anyone who likes seafood!
The two of us were seated at a table set for 4. No one adjusted the place settings. No one gave us water. No one said, hi, I’m your waiter. After 20 minutes I asked the hostess if we had a waiter. Even after recommencing our dining experience 20 minutes the service didn’t get much better. And while several managers checked on us while we were trying to eat no real effort was made to improve our experience. Too bad. I used to enjoy this overpriced restaurant.
Great service, excellent food and great location!! We can not recommend this place enough...well worth the drive and price.
We went to Sea Salt to celebrate our anniversary. We made our reservation on OpenTable and we arrived a few minutes early. They went ahead and seated us in the part of the restaurant with large windows that looked out on the SunDial area and you could see the water from our second floor seats. They had a good beer selection. My wife had the mushroom soup that was poured for her tableside. I had Oysters Rockefeller which were served on funky blue-colored rock salt. I had the Swordfish Au Poivre which was delicious and not to peppery. For dessert, they brought out a Cotton Candy dish that was decadent. Definitely would recommend for a special occasion.
SeaSalt was a terrific outdoor restaurant. You could sit inside but we chose outside and sat on a comfy sofa. We didn’t expect a happy hour until 7 with such good prices. That made our drinks and appetizers a very good price. We received and just had such a relaxing excellent service. It was a treat for the four of us after going to a play I downtown St Pete. We plan to go again.
Waited over an hour for our food, my entree came out completely cold, our waitress was completely disinterested (even while pouring the oil for our bread she was turned around not looking at what she was doing). She barely checked on our table and my entree was not comped for being completely cold. Our assistant bus boy was so nice though! When we ordered our truffles for dessert, every single one we ordered was out. We were celebrating a special occasion which they failed to remember. I was very unimpressed with our waitress and her lack of attention to our table.
We came to Sea Salt back in November and loved it and had an adorable waitress and had an amazing night. I wish that we could’ve had a better experience last night.
Great food , decent price, great location! The whole fish filleted table side is awesome!
Sea Salt in St. Pete was great. Have been to the one in Naples and this was just as good. Took my son who lives in the Tampa area and he too was impressed.
Excellent food and excellent service. Very nice place, good for family gathering.
The best gnocchi with truffle oil EVER! Very lively, outdoor seating overlooks plaza, enjoyed it very much.
It was actually such s nice surprise. We travel to Europe a lot and can never figure out why restaurants here can’t serve fish prepared simply: grilled with olive oil salt and pepper. Well Sea Salt does just that. And it was delicious. Fresh fish- you can see it on ice, the brown bread was locally baked and good, not too much of the sides dish, and the oyster mix was wonderful. Their wine list was extensive and they even had Gaja’s and Jacopo Poli grappa and Illy espresso which is rare. Just a really really nice change from the typically heavy overloaded food you usually get in the Tampa Bay area. We plan to go back and back again.
Great food. Excellent service. Nice ambiance. Overall great experience.
The food was very good. My chief issue was getting our appie before we rec’d our drinks and then getting our meal about 2 sips into our drinks. It felt like they were rushing us out. Definitely would have had a glass of wine if we’d had time.
just ok . server could not take wine order by name . insisted he needed a number off the wine list . several entrees were served cold . not a particularly good experience.
Excellent food and excellent service. I really like this place and will be back.
It was great.
we were made to feel like we had to hurry up and eat and leave. Very bad vibe and overpriced.
Food is fair. Great potential, but farmers table next door is much better
The waiter was terrible... never came back to check on anything. Didn't remove the used plates even after coming back to the table twice for other issues.
Charged $24 for a double vodka with soda water. Will never go back to thus restaurant.
Very disappointed. While the service was good, not exceptional for the price paid. Additionally while the roisters we're good appetizer, My entrée was sorely lacking. I ordered a grilled snapper, and the last thing I took from my meal that it was grilled. No wood or smoke flavor to it whatsoever. The succotash that was served with it was absolutely mushy. In the whole dish could be summed up as bland. As I mentioned earlier, for the price we paid at this meal, I expected far more than what was delivered.
Outstanding meal, great service I can't recommend highly enough. We had a few business dinners at Sea Salt this week. Everything couldn't have been better, cotton candy at the end was a nice touch.
I strongly recommend the fire & ice platter. It was awesome and worked well for 4 people as an appetizer.
SeaSalt is classy, great ambiance, food and service. Not cheap, but good value for your money.
The food was great - the location was great! My wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day here and had a wonderful experience! First we started with (2) Beach Plum Oysters and (2) Kusshi Oysters - both were fantastic, although i was a bigger fan of the flavor in the Beach Plums! Then we had the yellow fin tuna tartare which was also amazing! So fresh! One of the best we've had - and that's only because the best tuna tartare is in Hawaii. For entrees my wife enjoyed a fresh batch of crab legs from "Dutch Harbor" and I enjoyed the Beef Tenderloin. Both were excellent and truly hit the spot! The end of the meal was a wonderful surprise - not sure if its a regular thing or just for the Vday diners that evening - they brought out a huge bowl of cotton candy to share while we paid the bill.
Great environment! Tasty food! We will be back!
We were seated promptly, and service was very good. At first the food looked like there wasn't a lot on the plate, however while eating you realize your eyes may have been fooled but your stomach wasn't. Wonderful food that filled us up, unlike some other hip joints. We had a very pleasant and enjoyable Valentine Dinner at Sea Salt St. Petersburg.
My husband and I were completely wow-ed with our meal on Valentine's Day! Everything was absolutely delicious. My favorites were the lobster pasta and the grilled octopus. We can't wait to find another occasion so we can go back!
The overall value of the food versus price is not worth it; the food was good but very expensive. $12 for a small mousse with caramel dessert was disappointing. Ambiance is very good and the location in the Sundial is excellent. The food took almost 1 hour to be served which is excessive even for a finer restaurant. Overall a fair experience.
We had made reservations for my birthday. My daughters live in Chicago and called in hours before to order wine to be sent over to us from them as a surprise. The restaurant never brought the wine. When asked their excuse was they had to change our table to accommodate a larger group. I have never been associated with the location of a table I’m usually associated by my last name . Then they said they just got too busy and forgot. Never going back. Too many good restaurants to deal with their incompetence.
Thank you, Kim Faour
Fresh Fish should not smell, but when you walk into the restaurant you can smell the fish on display.
Scallops were tiny. Other dishes were very good.
No bread was offered.
Food was tasty though some items were a little salty.
Excellent oysters. Nice menu. Good waiter
Had early dinner before Dali new exhibit opening (started at 7pm). Got here at 5:30pm. We told our waiter that we needed to be ontime. Service was slow, so we ended up being late for the show. They ran out of swordfish (for pre/fix), and replaced it with salmon. I asked waiter for a different fish but was told no. Our friend ordered branzino that smelled foul (we were told by the waiter its fresh catch). Anyway, there are many other restaurants in St Pete that do much better job.
The beautiful bar is a perfect spot to enjoy cocktails and oysters. Sitting outside on the expansive dining area is lovely on a mild evening, and the main dining room is also beautiful. Tables are spaced perfectly for conversation and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. I look forward to the cotton candy like a little kid.
It took 10 minutes to get the attention of the bartender. My extra dry martini had a splash of olive juice which made it to salty. Sent it back and got what I wanted. So not a good start to our experience. Once seated with our guests our server Amanda erased all thoughts of the bad bar experience with her professional / friendly table service. Shrimp cocktail, salad, black grouper all around hit our happy button. Great wines, great atmosphere and friendly Wait staff. Highly recommend you try this wonderful restaurant.........we’re going back real soon!
Our waiter, Joe (not sure of last name) was outstanding. Very knowledgeable about the menu. Had the sommelier assist in a great wine selection. Fantastic service and could not do enough for us. We are coming again before theater on Saturday, February 10th and have requested the same waiter. Hopefully that will come to fruition.
First visit-we'll be back-just superb in every respect!
Great Food excellent service enjoyed the candy floss at the end!
