We enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was good, but not “outstanding” and was a bit overpriced for the quality. Overall it was great and the service was awesome!
We were seated outside which was quite pleasant and not too hot or noisy. The menu is somewhat limited but the food is good. We enjoyed the fish sandwich and fish tacos. There were 3dessert choices and we tried two. Key lime pie was tasty but didn’t look anything like conventional key lime. Fruit cobbler was right out of the oven and delicious
I wish parking wasn't such an issue! When I host lunches here, if we are too leisurely, we are often required to pay a high parking fees - even after I've spent a LOT of money on food just wish we didn't have to worry over our time spent at lunch. Also, we all ordered the drink we usually have in years past: organic Margaritas. This time, it seemed the bartender forgot the tequila! None of us felt the tiniest buzz at all, and I am a real lightweight when it comes to a drink.
The burger was very flavorful and the chowder was very good!
Excellent service, food and ambience. Will return here as I was treated with friendly service and people who care. Thanks to all.
I know the industry plates up an idea that crab cakes are pricey, but two $9 crab cakes that were smaller than hush puppies? That’s Denver pricing, where seafood is always frozen, never fresh. I had an expectation that we would be served 2 cakes. Especially being on the gulf.
Other than that, service was good.
Ladies Birthday lunch. Cobb Salad and turkey club sandwich were enough for 2 people! A little pricey but you are at the Don. Service was good and all staff members were cordial.
Great ambiance, great service, great food, great experience!!!
Food was excellent, along with the service. I will come back again, enen driving from Tampa.
Excellent breakfast served either inside or on the patio walkway of the pool in the historic Don Caesar hotel. The fruit plate was huge with a large slice of honeydew melon, pineapple, seedless grapes, blueberries and strawberries. The food was exceptional and the service was attentive and friendly.
I booked this for a special occasion ..sunday buffet brunch. Seriously disappointing. From lousy food to lousy service.
This restaurant needs a better management team to help it survive.
This was out second visit and our group of 4 had a great time. Food was very good and the atmosphere was great as we dined early and had only one other party inside, so it was quiet and relaxing.
Patricia was the besttttt server!! We had $16 bottomless mimosas and she even gave us a Togo coffee cup to walk the beach with!
Staff wasn't inviting, they looked miserable. 2 ladies who greet and seat were very unsociable. Given the very expensive prices I didn't receive high character service. By the way on top of that they burnt the bacon.
Our server Brittany was excellent!! The food was delicious and view was beautiful!
1 waiter for seemed like 20 tables...took for ever. Hair in glass when we were sat at table. Took over an hour to get our breakfast...very poor experience.
We had a 5:30pm reservation for my sisters birthday. The food took so long that the birthday girl had to take her dinner in a to go box. Terrible experience. There were only two tables occupied....Will not go back.
Alwlays fantastic place to eat with excellent choices in cuisine and wines. Most importantly, the ambience is superb!
Very nice workers who knew what they were doing and the food was also very good. The scenery was very pretty too.
My husband and I went to dinner there while on vacation. We were very happy with our meals. The server was polite and knowledgeable. Great views! I highly recommend.
Teddy was the absolutely best!
We moved out of town about 9 years ago. We used to visit the Don for Sunday brunch before leaving so decided to do it again while back in town. Sorry to see the room changed from upstairs with the grand brunch to the poolside casual. Selection smaller, as was the price, but the food was still very good.
The menu seemed scant with not enough selections. In my shrimp and grits, the sausage was dry and mealy and the grits were flavorless. The other guests had fish and short ribs, which they enjoyed . The chowder was very good, as were the desserts (Key Lime Mousse and Apple Cobble). The waiter never offered to refill my iced tea. (Even diners give you refills.)
We enjoyed a Sunday brunch at Sea Porch for a birthday celebration. Our server, Teddy, was fantastic. We ordered the bottomless mimosas and he kept them flowing. We also opted for entrees off the menu instead of the buffet and was not disappointed. Beach time following our meal was the cherry on top. 100% will be returning.
Awesome place to be!
Beautiful spot to eat. Food was good.
My boyfriend and I came for Sunday brunch and were blessed with Jeff as our server. We immediately decided on unlimited mimosas and he never left our glass empty. From the attention to detail to the exquisite food selections, I would come back again and again. Amazing brunch experience. My boyfriend even said it was the best omelet he’s ever eaten!
Not at all what we expected for brunch... according to online there was suppose to be bottomless mimosa and a nice buffet.. the buffet was a continental breakfast plus oatmeal... not worth $29.99 price point.
The website also indicated there would be discounted parking for eating at the restaurant and our server told us they were no longer offering that and it would be the full $25.00 to self park.
Great food, fun location on St. Pete Beach, would definitely go back!
I treated my dad to brunch on Father's Day and we had an issue with the hostess but our server, Patricia, stepped in and took over and from there on we had a great experience. The Bloody Marys, coffee and Lump Crab Eggs Benedict were all delicious. It appeared they offer a great buffet also.
truly awesome indeed, it was a great ambiance and service and food outstanding
Service was good but the food for the Sunday Brunch was not good. Other than the omelet station the food on the self serve buffet sat in the warming pots too long and was not very fresh. We drove four hours to do this Sunday Brunch at The Don because my wife had a great experience there 10 years ago and she wanted to go back for our 40th anniversary. Needless to say, it was a big disappointment.
Upon arrival at the host stand, staff acted like they had no idea of what was going on. We were seated and our server greeted us and took our drink order and the four of us opted for the brunch. When we went to buffet second time, the bus person cleared our table of everything, mimosas , oj, iced teas and everything else including one of our guests eyeglasses. Not a very good team effort to restore table to original condition. All in all a very embarrassing situation as these were new friends that we were entertaining.
No offer to compensate for all of the inconvenience. Paid way too much for such a poor experience.

Sunday bunch delicious, lots to choose from.
Nice place to look around, 5 the floor view was great.
Mothers Day we had a great time, my wife loved everything about our visit. Price was reasonable. We hung out for the day at the pool and beach, it was perfect. I had a question about the menu a few days prior, when I called the restaurant they told me the manager would return my call. I figured it was just a line, but the Manager called me back within ten minutes and answered my question. The following day I received another call from Don Cesar confirming that all of my concerns had been addressed. Excellent!
We made reservations online via OpenTable for Mother's Day Brunch. At the time of the reservation, we were told it would be $65 per adult, including unlimited champagne. The child's price was discounted. When we arrived at the hotel, there was a considerable amount of confusion, starting with parking (the lots stated that parking would be $25), and there was no street parking in the area. Eventually we were told that the restaurant would validate the parking ticket. Inside the hotel, there was a long line of people who were told to wait to "register." Once we got to the registration desk, we were told we did not have a reservation for the formal Mother's day brunch, but rather "downstairs." We were dressed up for what we thought would be a more formal dining experience. Instead, we were seated in a dining room with no view, surrounded primarily by hotel guests in their very casual wear. The brunch downstairs was a typical hotel breakfast, nothing spectacular and we were then told the price was $29 per person. The manager was very nice, apologized for the mistake, and gave the adults complimentary mimosas. She did offer to try to find us a table "upstairs" but the price was now $85 per person, and it was very crowded so we did not try to move. Although our breakfast was fine, it was nothing special, which is what we were trying to find for Mother's day.
We love dining outside by the pool. The food was great and so was the service.
Don Cesar has lost the Panache it had for years ... A Chick-Filet is classier and way cleaner ...
TOOOOO BADDDDD !
1] no draft beers CO2 cartridge out
2] waitress just OK
3] french fries cold returned them and they put the original ones back in fryer and brought them out again
4] mahi mahi on tacos overcooked
