   Made a reservation for 4. Got an email confirmation. When we got there, the restaurant was closed. Just a hand written sign on the door saying “Temporarily Closed”. Won’t be going there again any time soon.

   This was my first time trying Scratch Kitchen and my initial impression was that the restaurant was very bright and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the tables are well spaced apart so you're not sitting right up against another diner. The food was not bad. I heard they have another location in town (Honolulu) but I've never been there nor tried their food before, so this review is only for their Kapolei location. Appetizer: SMOKED BEEF RIB-($17). Yup...sigular, LOL. One pretty good size rib was meaty and flavorful with their house made bbq sauce. Could eat this as a small meal with some kind of starch or salad. Didn't really need the bbq sauce as the rib was flavored well. POPCORN CHICKEN ($12), Fairly simple dish. Nothing major but liked it was all white meat and still tender and moist. CRISPY BRUSSELS ($12), This was just "meh" for me. It wasn't technically "crsispy" but it did have some form of mildly crunchy tips. Main Dish: RIBEYE STEAK-($34) 12oz USDA Prime. This was not bad. Priced pretty decent for the size of meat and it was cooked to medium rare. Not too much seasoning so needed to add some salt/pepper but overall this was pretty good. Served with choice of sauteed broccoli or smashed potatoes or garlic rice. Got the potatoes and that was good. Very filling. SCRATCH BURGER ($23), two 4oz patties deluxe style served with crispy fries. Very basic smashed burger but can't go wrong with basic. This was very good! Get it with a side of mayo. Dessert: UNCLE DREW'S BREAD PUDDING ($12) Sadly this wasn't good. Tasted overcooked and was not served with vanilla sauce so the dryness was more prominent. Took a few bites and left it. CORN BREAD ($4) House made and grilled perfectly. But for me, I think the one that Zippy's makes is more moist and buttery. Overall I liked this place. I would definitely return to try their 14-16 oz smoked prime rib ($39) but only served on Thursdays. Tiano's makes a mean prime rib so we'll see how that goes.

   We had reservations to celebrate a special occasion for my teenage son. We arrived and the host indicates that the kitchen is backed up and they are no longer seating anyone even with reservations. Allowing us to reserve caused the celebration mood to damper as we had no other reservations elsewhere on a very busy Saturday night. Restaurant needs better foresight, planning, and enough courtesy to block reservations on Open Table or they should have called those with reservations to inform us of the cancellation. What a waste of our time. This would have been our first time to Scratch Kapolei and unfortunately we will never go back.

   Food was delicious. We had a very friendly waiter, his name was Keola. My cousin and I enjoyed our time there at Scratch Kitchen. It was our first time eating there. Great workers, very attentive. Mahalo!

   Was out of several items Was expecting some items from there other location Both sharing the same name and nothing on the menu that made the other location popular. Food took over 40 min to come out. Restaurant was 1/4. Kids plates was piping hot and looked dry, proby sitting under the heat lamp for away.

   The service was good but you guys run out of too much too often. Things that are common good sellers your out of by mid evening. Your kitchen staff didn’t seem to eager to help the servers figure out what was available or not and they disappeared before your closing hours so dessert whether it was available or not was a no go. Good thing Baskin Robins is around the corner.

   Made reservations for mine and my nieces birthday for brunch. Open table allowed me to make this reservation. I drove 30 minutes to this location to see that they were closed and did not have brunch until later in the month. It was disappointing and obviously poorly managed if they are allowing customers to reserve tables on special occasions with no notice of their unavailability.

   Service was outstanding from all the staff that interacted with us. Food was delicious and was brought to our table in a timely manner. The only thing I would change is the ambiance, it was a little bright in the restaurant in my opinion, if they would dim the lights a little it would have been perfect.

    It would have been nice to cancel the resrvatuon since they are closed until 9/9.
