Enjoy a night of fine wine, mixologist made cocktails and elevated comfort food at a locally owned casual fine dining restaurant in the Shops of Prairie Village. From humble beginnings as a small catering company we have transformed into a one-of-a-kind small boutique restaurant that provides a private and intimate dining experience focused on the food at the table and personal interactions with our team. Come experience the culinary expertise of Chef Taylor Hindman alongside 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine program featuring more than 165 unique wine selections curated by our owner Tyler Morrison.

Scratch is a small gem of a restaurant that provides a surprise and delight as we continue to grow. Since our opening in 2021, Scratch has been awarded Best New Restaurant in Johnson County in 2022 by The Shawnee Mission Post, 2023 Best Caterer in Johnson County, Finalist for Best New Restaurant by KC Magazine, and 2023 Yelp's "People Love Us".

    Come explore the best cocktails Prairie Village, KS has to offer in our next series of Cocktail Popups - Scratch @ Nite! Our Beverage Director and Mixologist, Sage Monet is inviting her professional friends in the high-end mixology industry for a fun cocktail series benefitting local charities. Each event will feature some of the best cocktail bartenders across Greater Kansas City and Lawrence. August 1st, 2025 - Scratch @ Nite featuring Zach Domville with Drastic Measures benefitting Hope House Join us for a special feature menu created by Sage and Zach as they take over our restaurant and turn it into a mixology haven. Both Sage and Zach will be creating two custom cocktails and 1 mocktail for our guests to enjoy. $1 from each cocktail sold will be donated to Hope House to help support victims of domestic violence. Reservations are welcomed as are walk-in guests. Dinner reservations at Scratch are encouraged for anyone looking to eat dinner with us and join us for the bar takeover afterwards. Dinner reservations do not guarantee a spot for both dinner and the pop up so two reservations are encouraged.

    Steak is absolutely delicious but so small, especially for price. You get more potato than steak. Seabass very good but rice it's service with is bland. Walleye VERY thin. Crabcake overcooked. Overall flavor is there. Prices too high for what you get. Our outdoor table was so dirty our table clothes were black from the dirt.

    Spend our 18th wedding anniversary at Scratch and they did not disappoint. Amazing experience from beginning to end

    Was so disappointed. Came for birthday dinner. Was really looking forward to trying this place. First, we were sat RIGHT behind the hostess stand. I actually bumped the host with my chair accidentally. Reservation at 6pm and one of our choices for a shared plate was already sold out. Drinks were good. Brussels sprouts were good. Bruschetta was hot not cold and given the fact that it is tomato season, that was disappointing. Just regular store bought cherry tomatoes in the dish. Husbands chicken had an overly sweet peach sauce. Daughters homemade ravioli was almost inedible. The pasta was tough and the cheese inside very sour. I ordered the $56 dollar steak. Potatoes literally burnt, 3.5 ounces of steak served and two pieces of asparagus. We definitely won’t be back for the food. Service wasn’t great. Server took my families plates away as soon as as they were done even though I was still eating. Mid bite she asked me if I wanted mine to go? I told her I was still eating. Then my plate was left on the table even as we were leaving she never cleared it. Just an overall bad experience. Not a good way to spend a birthday. Regret choosing Scratch and I had heard good things before this. I even hired them to cater a corporate Christmas dinner at a winery I worked at. I think they were better a few years ago from what people at the winery told me. Too bad

    Happy Anniversary! Met up with friends for our celebration. Sat outside in an area that remained in the shade for the most part. Our server was attentive. The crab & shrimp wonton dip was luscious. Entrees included the salmon and short rib gnocchi. To round out the meal, we enjoyed the bread pudding and triple-dip sorbet. Scratch offers a nice wine selection to boot!

    I must say overall we were disappointed. We waited 20 minutes between ordering and getting our first cocktail and there was at least a 15 minute gap between the time the dessert plates and utensils were placed and the actual dessert came. The restaurant was busy but I assume it’s often busy. It was many of our first time at the restaurant. I’d probably come back one more time to see if it was just an unusual night but it was not a good first impression.

    First time visiting Scratch and everything was incredible. From the service (Shout out Jason) to the food, we loved it all! The crab dip and sea bass were perfect!
