Enjoy a night of fine wine, mixologist made cocktails and elevated comfort food at a locally owned casual fine dining restaurant in the Shops of Prairie Village. From humble beginnings as a small catering company we have transformed into a one-of-a-kind small boutique restaurant that provides a private and intimate dining experience focused on the food at the table and personal interactions with our team. Come experience the culinary expertise of Chef Taylor Hindman alongside 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine program featuring more than 165 unique wine selections curated by our owner Tyler Morrison.

Scratch is a small gem of a restaurant that provides a surprise and delight as we continue to grow. Since our opening in 2021, Scratch has been awarded Best New Restaurant in Johnson County in 2022 by The Shawnee Mission Post, 2023 Best Caterer in Johnson County, Finalist for Best New Restaurant by KC Magazine, and 2023 Yelp's "People Love Us".

Happy Anniversary! Met up with friends for our celebration. Sat outside in an area that remained in the shade for the most part. Our server was attentive. The crab & shrimp wonton dip was luscious. Entrees included the salmon and short rib gnocchi. To round out the meal, we enjoyed the bread pudding and triple-dip sorbet. Scratch offers a nice wine selection to boot!

I must say overall we were disappointed. We waited 20 minutes between ordering and getting our first cocktail and there was at least a 15 minute gap between the time the dessert plates and utensils were placed and the actual dessert came. The restaurant was busy but I assume it’s often busy. It was many of our first time at the restaurant. I’d probably come back one more time to see if it was just an unusual night but it was not a good first impression.

First time visiting Scratch and everything was incredible. From the service (Shout out Jason) to the food, we loved it all! The crab dip and sea bass were perfect!

We sat outside on a beautiful May evening. Holly was our server and she was great! Very attentive, personable and knowledgeable. The owner came by as well to tell us about the restaurant and wine list. The food was delicious, especially the gnocchi. I would suggest an appetizer as well as the portions are on the smaller side. They have more seating outside than they do inside, so you should definitely make a reservation.

My boyfriend had the Bacon Jam Brussel Sprouts small plate and Short Rib Gnocchi for his main. He loved both, but said the brussel sprouts were his favorite, and probably the best brussels he'd had ever. I had the Tasting Menu, which was a great deal! It is four courses for only $65. My first course was bruschetta..the best bruschetta I've ever had. It had goat cheese (I think), balsamic vinegar (I think), and little halved and crushed cherry tomatoes..so good. Second course was a salad. Third course was fish (maybe bass, I don't really remember what kind of fish) with risotto. This was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Fourth and final course was a flight of gelato and sorbet. The flavors were blood orange sorbet, strawberry gelato, and hazelnut gelato. All the flavors were good, but my favorite was the hazelnut. The drinks were exceptionally delicious as well. My boyfriend had the Silly Rabbit, which was served in a milk carton-shaped glass (the size served at a school lunch)..super cute. I had the A Dolce Vida and the Amaterasu. Both were yummy, but my fave of the two was the A Dolce Vida. Look up their menu for descriptions of the drinks, my review is already way too long lol
