Great customer service and the food was delicious!
Great server and manager. Dinner. cocktails and dessert were delicious.
Wait staff member Steve was a top notch professional. informative, timely and attentive.
Also appreciated the genuine inquiry and greeting by the restaurant manager.
Excellent service and amazing food! Will come back again when travel here!
My husband and I went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The view was beautiful! We saw river otters and a rainbow! Our waiter, Steve, was amazing! He gave us some binoculars and even brought over a complimentary dessert for the birthday guy! The food was delicious! I gave up meat for Lent and the restaurant offered me so many off menu options! We were happily stuffed after a beautiful dinner!
The quality of food was amazing and the service was just as good. The staff was very attentive and came by the table often to make sure we were okay.
Nice place, but the food was way too pricey for what was served.
Not what I was expecting. This restaurant is in a hotel. It's a beautiful room and I really have no complaints other than it felt like a high end chain like Scott's or Kincaids. We were looking for an old fashioned seafood restaurant.
Beautiful view and ambiance! Solid food and great service. Thank you Lorinda!
Schooner's has always been a go-to for me. Great, friendly service with an amazing view...you can't beat it!
Noise level pretty high once dining area filled in. Service was best in Monterey, food selection very good. Taste...fantastic.
Love this place! This is one of my most favorite place in Monterey !
As a celebration dinner for both our five year anniversary and our recent engagement, my fiancé and myself went to schooners and we were blown away by both the amazing staff and the food! The hostesses and our waiter were very nice, the food was delivered promptley and tasted great! I highly recommend the “Cast a Big Net” (lobster, prawns, scallops and mashed potatoes) We will be going back to schooners the next time we are in Monterey!
Visiting CA to play Pebble Beach and Spyglass. Great food, excellent service. The restaurant is very loud but it has lots of energy. Unfortunately we were there later evening so you don’t get much of a view, but I’m sure during the day it is spectacular.
We had dinner with friends and received exemplary service. The meals were outstanding - the clam chowder, lobster bisque, swordfish, sea bass, salmon and crab legs. So wonderfully delicious. We are planning to come here for upcoming special events with friends and families. We found on-street parking spaces to be plentiful or you can valet. All seats provide wonderful views of the bay.
Incredible views, service and atmosphere
The appies were great and the entrees rocked. Maybe the best dining experience I’ve had in Monterey. Brought my own 08 Silver Oak and they treated it like their own. Incredible desert too
Always try to eat at Schooners when in town. Service was excellent, view incredible and the food topped it off.
We LOVE this place. For an elegant and tasty dinner or a terrific breakfast. The view is fantastic, the servers are wonderful. We had April serve us the last two times and she was wonderful! Whenever we travel to Monterey/Carmel this is THE place we have most of our meals!
Fabulous and attentive service. Great menu variety. The man at the table next to us was very vulgar and loud. We would have appreciated it if staff would have asked him to dial it down. I felt badly for the woman waiting on his table.
Took an international group to Schooners. Everyone loved it. Thanks!
Service and food were excellant. The portions were a little small
Food was amazing! Had brussel sprout with bacon jam, seafood feast, octopus, oysters in half shell. YUMMY!
Extremely fast service, the food was delicious and so were the cocktails, waiter was attentive and friendly, always with a smile.
Second visit, and once again they delivered. Good service, wonderful ambience, beautiful Ocean view. Highly recommend for any one looking for a great sea food spot with a romantic atmosphere.
As a hotel restaurant we were not expecting a lot but it far exceeded our desires. The food and cocktails were all FABULOUS!.
Really enjoyed the excellent food and service. I had the cioppino which was full of yummy seafood. My wife had the swordfish. We had the angry shrimp which was incredible.
Nice hotel dining room. Service good but took long time for entrees and check. Some of the best clam chowder ever! All foods hot and well seasoned. View at lunch or breakfast probably incredible!
We had a large group of 10 that I couldn't reserve through open table and had to call in then wait for coordinator to call back. Service was very slow but food was good. Some of the best clam chowder I've had anywhere in US.
Beautiful view of the bay! Great ambiance, great service and new décor. Very nice!
It was fine.
Food was good, and the service was friendly. Can recommend this place.
Went here on a breakfast date with my boyfriend. Ended up spending a lot for seemingly not much. The dishes were gorgeous but his shrimp and egg scramble was notably bland and uninteresting, and the strawberries on my waffle were sour. For what the dishes were, they weren't worth the price. And our waiter was overly hyper to take our order; but slow to bring us the check.
The only things we really enjoyed was the view, the ambiance, and the incredible orange juice. Probably won't be coming here again, but it was worth a shot. Might come for dinner instead on another occasion.
It was a pleasant dining experience In a relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter was warm, friendly, helpful and caring. It is a great restaurant to entertain for special occasions.
A perfect place and wonderful food for Christmas dinner.
Anniversary dinner. Food was great and very tasty. Our waiter Steve was excellent.
We had 7:00 reservations in the dining room, but wound up in the bar at 5:00 and decided to stay there (the bar serves both the bar menu, which includes happy hour and the full dining room menu). In all, we spent over 3 hours ordering items from both menus.
Service was very good, and we were there long enough to be served by two different serving staffs. Cocktails were fine, although no better than what you can get at a BJ's restaurant.
The food itself was hit & miss, however. My calamari was delicious. We got a three-oyster special from the happy hour menu, and one was disgusting, one was okay, the third was great. My wife's mussels were pretty tender, although many of them were sandy. And the broth was really boring. The Caesar salad was good, as was the chocolate mint mud pie that we shared.
But overall, the good service doesn't overcome an adequate bar and a VERY spotty kitchen -- especially at a hotel of this caliber. If I were staying at the hotel again, I would go for the Caesar and calamari, and I would go elsewhere for pretty much everything else.
We had a wonderful time. We especially enjoyed the view and the Otters entertainment.
Great place to wrap a weekend getaway evening. Cioppino was amazing!
We had a lobster tail, steam clams, clam chowder in a sourdough bowl
and a fried chicken.
Everything else was perfect except for the fried chicken. Too dried.
Service was excellent.
Since crab season is here it would,d have been nice to have local fresh crab on the menu -- cracked crab, crab cocktail, crab Louis, etc. Fresh cab is worth celebrating!
