Beautiful atmosphere, staff very nice. Great service. Love it!
It was Father's Day and we had no plans but were in the neighborhood. The drinks were very well put together. Lobster roll was great. If they have the Crab Cake on the menu, order it! Enjoyed it very much.
It was a cute and modern place. Fresh and clean look to the overall restaurant. Food was delicious.
While I enjoyed the restaurant, my reservation specifically requested outdoor seating. When we arrived, I was informed that the patio is only open on the weekends. I asked why they didn't call to let me know that since it was requested and not available. I was told by the hostess that they would call "next time".
Two hours later, when we were leaving, we noticed a party sitting on the patio, I asked the hostess what the deal was and was told that the party out side had said they had a hard time hearing in the restaurant due to the noise level.
That was why I wanted to be outside too. We even had to move our table when we were first seated due to the difficulty in hearing my dining partner.
She was indeed, the hostess with the leastest.
Thank you so much. That was amazing
Early fathers day
We were at Sawyer right after it opened and thought it was good not great. This is our first time back since then and what a change. Menu with better options, not as bar food centric but if that's what you want, there is plenty to choose from. We started with a selection of raw oysters and the broiled oysters...excellent. I had the mussels which were great. Husband ordered the fried chicken, which he loved...and ate again the following night at home because there was so much. Definitely will be returning to try other options. And kudos to our waiter, Ross.
Love the space, love the food, service is great. The patio is magical and the inside is adorable and well-designed. Food is comfort with a twist, lots of interesting tastes made to perfection. This is a new neighborhood favorite.
Food was AMAZING and the place (Outdoors) is BEAUTIFUL!
Beautiful place. Food was just ok, but the ambiance is great. Makes you feel like u are in Silver Lake for sure.
Mussels were smelly and not fresh. I had fried chicken sandwich and went home feeling sick.
We had a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch! Sawyer always exceeds our expectations and Sunday was no different. They treated us so well, the service was impeccable, and the food was incredible. I highly recommend going here for any meal any day of the week, you will never be disappointed!
Fire place in the back is a must
So good!!!! The service was wonderful!
Amazing food and service! We enjoyed brunch and can’t wait to return for lunch and dinner.
Appetizer never came out. Breaded chicken for 23 dollars was ALL breading. Decibal level out of control for only half full restaurant space.
Sat outside on the patio the first time and it was lovely! I visit often because I live in the neighborhood and the restaurant has a great vibe, but in my opinion, the food is slightly overpriced and drink service is super slow.
Great. Just a bit noisy.
Nice enough place, especially the back patio. But the food is rather bland (maybe the kitchen was out of NaCl), and the service, while friendly, was largely inattentive. A good brunch spot I guess, but with so many other great places within a few blocks, there's no reason to make this more than a one-off visit.
We had the buttermilk fried chicken , greens , and the mussels ! The food was great and the service was even better ! I will definitely come here again
Love Sawyer. Everything is always great from the staff to the wonderful food. Love the king crab legs and mussels and crazy good smoked trout salad.
They were able to seat us a few minutes before our reservation. Very pretty environment, but quite loud inside. They were having a tasting with Habit wines, which was really nice. The winemaker was there to give us info as we did the flight. Food was good but not particularly wonderful. Had the hush puppies, lobster roll and fried chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was probably the best, really yummy slaw. But by far the dessert of peanut butter pie was our favorite. I would go back just for dessert, but I’m not dying to eat the other dishes again.
Slow kitchen and very loud
Fantastic food with inventive and surprising flavors.
Easter Brunch with the family! Had a great time and food was good as always.
Always a great vibe
Lovely patio surrounded by plants. Friendly service and good food.
Very nice service. Nice setting.
Even with a reservation, it took 45 minutes to be seated at our table. The menu is varied and the food is deliciously well executed.
This is one of my favorite places in Los Angeles! Excellent food, service and ambience. California cuisine and fresh ingredients make this place a gem.
Exceptional food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. The tartare, the hush puppies, and the trout are a must.
Very hip, silverlake aesthetic with lots of natural light and outdoor seating; great quality brunch including break from local bakery
Sawyer is always a favorite place to go. The service is tops, and the food is delicious and creative. Best Lobster Roll this side of Maine!
We found the food to be bland. The okra appetizer was plain awful. Dried up, old okra inside far too much breading. The main dishes weren't as bad as that, but they were just okay. Nothing special, not flavorful. I wish I'd ordered the fried chicken because that looked tasty. The fish with blood oranges was passable. The squash porridge was decent. The appetizers were all uneventful. And our bill for three people was $200, which seemed steep to me because we didn't go crazy. It's a pretty restaurant and the staff was nice enough, but I wasn't impressed enough with the food to return.
Despite having a reservation, the hostess seemed surprised we were there when we arrived. We were relegated to the patio, and our server seemed to forget that our section existed for most of the night. There was a piece of wax paper in my cheeseburger (probably used to separate the cheese slices). Just really sloppy work all around, very disappointing.
Charming space open to the street with outdoor patio in the back. Food was good... But not amazing. I was looking forward to the lobster roll, but it was slathered with too much mayonnaise & wayyyy too much dill that completely overpowered the ungenerous portion of lobster. Drinks were great & staff was very kind.
The shared plates were very good! The main dishes weren’t as good, sadly. The cocktail menu made up for the over cooked dishes we ordered. I would go again ,but not for dinner.
We started off with a 20 minute wait after overhearing our table was accidentally given away to another party. After placing our order our received a wrong main course meal and waited 15-20mins for the correct order. The waitstaff and the manager was extremely apologetic — A complimentary a beer and deserve was given for the inconvenience. The fried chicken/ free beer and deserve was good but definitely not worth the 40ish min wait.
I had the worst stomach pain all night. I liked the food but didn’t sit well:(
