Located on the campus of The Culinary Institute of America, San Antonio, and nestled in the Pearl, Savor highlights the talents of our CIA students under the supervision of the college’s world class faculty. Experience a meal inspired by ingredients and techniques from around the world. Our dining room and patio are open and reservations are strongly encouraged. Curbside takeout is also available.

All guests are required to wear a mask while indoors—regardless of their vaccination status—except when seated in a dining environment. Thank you for helping to keep our CIA campus community safe!

    Our waiter Devin was wonderful! The food was delicious and the experience was unforgettable. We are visiting from NC and a chef friend who is a graduate of CIA New York recommended we try this. Our party of four all enjoyed their food. Thank you Chef Guzman and crew. Fantastic!

    I must first explain that I'm the child of a master baker and professional cook and was born in the old country. Yes, I was taught how to cook at home. So here goes. Great food and experience. A culinary adventure! The food was at the correct temperature, consistency and had outstanding flavor profiles. Nothing was over or under cooked. Nothing was put in the proverbial microwave and served scalding hot.. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. The one thing they did not do is come over and ask you how the food was while you were trying to eat it. I never could understand why the typical server does that in your average restaurant. The only issue was the noise level once the restaurant was full, but then that's more of American culture combined with open architecture. Upon leaving I thought , finally a restaurant with food that I can't cook better at home. Definitely will have to come back.

    Had a great experience at Savor. The food was great. Some interesting dishes, all very tasty. The restaurant is pretty small so book in advance. The value for the quality of food and service is really hard to beat. Plus supporting the education and training of some future great chefs.

    Truly delicious and beautifully presented food. We had a total of 6 dishes and every one of them was incredible. My wife commented several times on how fresh everything tasted, and how interesting, fun, and delicious the mix of flavors was in each of the dishes. We will be coming back without any doubt.

    Exceptional experience, food, service! Derrik was our waiter. He was excellent! Brent is the instructor and both he and Derrik made accommodations for my seed oil allergies. The food was beyond amazing! Highly recommend Savor to everyone. These students are exceptional. The experience is exceptional!

    I’ve been a loyal customer to Savor for 5 years now even with driving 2 hours from Austin it was always worth it because of Fabien. Fabien made me feel like family he remember every place I sat in the five years of coming there, he remember what drink I ordered and I never really repeat the same order. Fabien made sure the silverware were aligned just right, he brought a sense of elegance and made it an experience. But this visit was different because Fabien wasn’t there. I wasn’t greeted at the hostess stand by the instructor, my silverware wasn’t aligned at the table, the feeling of an experience or feeling like family was gone. I felt like I was at any other restaurant, don’t get me wrong the food was good, the students were good. But I’m not sure if it’s a place to drive 2 hours to as often as I had if I don’t get the complete experience with Fabien. You don’t realize how good something is until it’s gone unfortunately

    While visiting San Antonio we discovered that they had a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at The Pearl. We've been to the restaurants in Hyde Park, NY and in Napa Valley and had great experiences with the students each time. So, we decided we would visit our 3rd CIA for dinner. There are only 4 CIA's in the world, the 4th being in Singapore. If you don't know anything about the CIA, it's a 2 year cooking school. After the 2 years, the students spend 7 weeks cooking at the restaurant and 7 weeks doing front end and bartending jobs. Once those 14 weeks are done, they have worked all aspects of the restaurant business. We arrived before our reservation time and were immediately greeted and given a nice table. Our server was Michael, a student, and he was great. I ordered a cocktail of the day (the student bartending that day gets to make up a drink of the day) and my wife ordered a glass of Rose. We ordered a bottle of wine for dinner when Fabian (Sommelier and CIA Instructor) came to our table and asked us if rather than ordering a bottle of wine we would be interested in he selecting a wine with each course we would be ordering. Of course we would. Fabian did a great job of pairing a wine for each of us for each course we ordered. We got a great education on pairing wines with foods, particularly wines we typically wouldn't drink. With one of my courses, I had a glass of Barbara Rose from Mexico which was delicious. It was the first time I have ever had a Mexican wine. I did the 4 course option with the Chorizo Verde Tetela, Crab Squash Blossom, Red Snapper with Hoja Santa Pesto, and the Tomatillo Tart for dessert. All the dishes were outstanding and well presented. My wife did the 3 course option with the King Prawn and Nopales Salad, Lamb Masa Cappelletti, and the Banana and Dulce de Leche for dessert. We had a wonderful time thanks to Michael and Fabian. Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding.
